8 WEEKS... WHERE ARE U AT? BODY/THOUGHTS/WORK

Posted , 6 users are following.

I have hit 8 weeks today, from a  TAH.  Would love to hear from others at this point... "How is your body recovering", "How are you dealing with it", and if you are "Back at work", if so... how is that?

I hit the 8 week mark on Tues and I am still getting pulling if I have overdone it. My tummy still feels sore and bruised and as for the back ache.....it is getting worse. Don't get me wrong I feel 100% better than I did and can now do more as long as I take it easy......I woke with the back ache so hopefully it will go soon. I have not ventured out to town or anywhere yet .....

I went back to work 3 days ago... terrible... terrible.. I need to GET UP and walk.. I am exhausted going home..

7 hours straight.. no break or lunch.. I am TOO BUSY sad

I don't have the back ache.. but I do feel that incision area and my SIDE HURTS..

I know Lucky... I got home, took care of dad (91) and I guess passed out on the couch for a good 45 min. until my hubby got home sad

I didnt eat all day, I think I was a lil' weak..

I plan on resting some this weekend.... honeslly.. I think I needed another week off... my dr. told me 7 weeks, I just went along with it...

Well.. I know I won't split open again (did that twice)..its just the tired thing now....

Even though my job is a desk job, I am sitting TOO LONG... I tried getting up a couple times, not enough... I need to make a big note to remind me sad

I"ll keep ya posted...gosh, I do NOT want to set myself back.

I don't think you saw me today sad  B-A-D.. but it wasn't my fault!

I teach a part time SPECIAL NEEDS CLASS for kids.. and I had to buy games/prizes today, for tomorrows class... I had my cart filled at the store, they lady rings me out, then says "oh, you cant take the carriage out, they're new"..  We had snow today... just 3 inches, not much, and it was plowed.. soooooooo.. ok.. I carried 7 bags in on my arms ACROSS a lot... O-M-G  my stomach.. I felt all these sensations.. and not good ones...

      sad   I was bad sad

I will try to be better this weekend!  shhhhhhhhhhh  .. dont tell!lol

OMG! Mintdream you should have asked for help!! sad You bad, bad girl! Now you better be resting! x

As for the snow, keep that over there, you always seem to send us the snow after you guys in the USA had had it rolleyes Anyway is that a ladies 3 inces or a mans? If it's a mans three inches then we are in trouble! wink x

I'm also trained as an LSP (we call it a Learning Support Practitioner over here, teaching special needs children on a one to one basis), I specialised in Speech and Dyspraxia but I don't do it anymore, I've moved into special needs adults instead. I do miss the children, I loved that job, just the head teacher (Principal I think you call them) was not very nice and I ended up leaving not only my job but education all together sad x

SNOW...... THAT'S TOO FUNNY lol 3''

That is awesome that you work with Special Needs.. I've been in special needs now for about 20 yrs... I actually worked mostly with Autistic children... but have also worked with Downs... love my kids!  You must have LOVED that job, so rewarding... but... I'm sorry to hear that the head teacher was not pleasant to work with sad

I am very lucky... love my principal!

It must be great to work with a good Principal, it's a lovely job and I do miss it at times, though I do enjoy the job I do now and my manager is fantastic, couldn't have asked for a more understanding manager at this time smile x

      YEP... IT IS.....

I'M GLAD YOU ENJOY YOUR NEW POSITION... SO REWARDING HELPING OTHERS..

AND IT'S NICE THEY ALL UNDERSTAND WE ARE STILL RECOVERING!

I GET YELLED AT IF THEY SEE ME LIFTING OR CARRYING TOO MUCH.

I'm glad they yell at you, after carrying all that shopping over the carpark the other day, you need someone watching over you! LOL Great that they are being understanding though smile ATM my managers are being fantastic with me, even giving my light duties now if I'm having an off day, I hope that this carries on after the operation, I work in the local council though so there are solid guidelines in place for these sort of events and we have our own occupational health dept that make sure things are done right smile x

I do not think the back ache is connected but who knows. I can not go back to work yet, due to the fact I have heavy lifting and a lot of bending and stretching in the job. I do not know if I will go back due to a take over and dare I say it they will be laying staDo not over do it at work please that seems an awful long shift to go back into

Yeah... I dont think the back is connected..  I STRONGLY suggest holding off work if you are lifting..OMG... I feel it just with groceries.

Guess we all have to "listen" at this point sad

STace... we are just about on the same time frame.. my belly has gone down, yes... but still has an "odd" shape... the incision is around the top of the belly button and straight down to my lowe abdomen... 22 staples she did...  I get pains on my "left" side daily...mostly when I sit a long time, and driving.. If I lift kinda heavy things I Feel "something" in there... STaying home you can slow your pace some.. I went back to work 4 days ago.. my mind says GOOD.. my body says sad

I still can not side sleep, and that drives me nuts!  I am so tired of on my back..but I try every night.. I try the pillow, but it ends up moving away.

I guess in all.. I am a bit better than a week ago...b ut I still have to be careful.. I realize that now.

And all myco-workers are like YOU LOOK GREAT.. yeah ,outside .. inside, no one can see sad

i have c section cut. so not to bad. Mine doesnt hurt me and i can touch it. I can sleep on my left side just not my right side.i find when i wake in a morning i have had a fight with the bed as all my covers and pillows are everywhere. I did shopping today with my mum and two boys. And i feel ok for doing it. My belly  hasnt bloated.I also give up smoking. And i wish we could have a scan like every 2 weeks to show how our insides our doing. I feel ok on the outside and feel like i could do everything but then i get tired. x

Hi Stacey... I heard the C section cut is a lil' better, but you still had all your inards moved around.  Isn't that funny, you can sleep on one side, not the other... I still have some discomfort on my sides.. I have the covers and pillows too... I'm glad you gave up smoking!  This is going to be a NEW START for you this year!

And... I TOTALLY AGREE... all of us here should have a scan of some type to see "what's going on in there now"... that's an awesome idea!

Here's to a NEW YEAR... NEW US!!!!
