Afterlife ~ yes, or no?

Posted , 9 users are following.

I am curious of how other's feel about the "afterlife". If you believe there is one or isn't.

I am a believer that we are living in the midst of going to a wonderful, fullfilling afterlife or come back until we get it right...what do you think?

    Hello Frustrated,

First off,  I am not sure where my replies are going and which part of this wonderful subject I am replying to, tho I do when I send the reply !!

Afterlife:  Mother Nature ( I know, I do keep harping on about her lol )   every year she arranges that plant life - some of it, dies.  A lot of it tho 'dies back'  to regrow the following Spring, would you consider this is Life After Death  in a way ?

      Hello Jessie,

That is a very persipient comment. The Bible tells us something on the same line. The farmer sows a seed and what appears is a different sort of body. If the farmer plants a wheat seed, up comes not the seed but a wheat plant.I have seen this for myself. Pull up a potato plant and there amongst the lively roots is the squishy decayed potato that was planted. Pull up a wheat plant and there amongst the roots is the decayed seed. Similarly 'plant' the dead mortal body in the grave/sea/crematorium and in due course up comes a spiritual immortal body.

      Hello George,

this is priceless,  love it and have to agree whole heartedly with you.  I do believe I have witnessed the spiritual bodies of those who have indeed popped back up!  It did not occur to me to ask the question 'is there life after death '  I rather thought these particular spirits were the restless souls who could find no peace,  peace after ??    has to be death does it not ?

      Hello Jessie,

That's the great thing about the forum. We contribute things and we learn things. It can make such a difference while we grapple with all the hurts and anxieties of ill health. There is a notable case in the Bible. King Saul did what he should not have done and called back Samuel the prophet who had died some time before. Samuel was very cross at being disturbed.

I would consider the "cycle of life" as far as vegetation (seeds).  I believe El Nino and El Nina are present when we see the glaciers falling back and so on.  I don't see this as God's will as he promised he would never repeat the great famine as he clearly stated he'd let  man do unto themselves as it was clearly too painful even for God to endure.

As far as momma nature, you don't harp, you speak what you feel from your heart and if everyone could see that one is entitled to their position, the less hurt would be placed upon those who do speak from the heart.  But please, keep joining in this as you have much to say and much for people to think about!  Thank you!

      frustrated,

could it be that God and Mother Nature  united,  the earth and all other planets were a result of this union where God provides the spiritual needs and M. Nature the physical.  This would fit in with flora and fauna having no spirit or emotion and going through die back whereas human have spirit and soul with great memory included but as the physical body can only repair so many times and it would be a waste of accrued knowledge carried by the memory to end with the failure of the body,  ( why do humans not hibernate )   so the spirit endures to take with it part of the memory into a future body so we can learn all about the world that was created.  There is way to much for one person,  and like a hive of bees we need leaders teachers etc and workers to help keep record and progress with all that is learned.  Small picture of the big picture there lol.

El Nino,  mamma nature stopping the air from getting stagnant and ensuring that rain clouds spread  around.  This is known by Peruvian sailors as ' The Christ Child '   because it peaks in December and has an effect of thier catch !!      Mention of El Nino gives me the urge to burst into song   '  They Call The Wind  Maria  '       not forgetting  I Talk To The Trees,  tree huggers being mamma natures  kids !!

I have left the path again,  but as I said this is a big subject and humour is a leveller of emotions, a release of tension that can build in such discussions.

      Hello George,

Your words are very true, re the forum and our reasons for being here.   I am curious tho as to how King Saul went about calling back Samuel,  could it be he did know the answer to life after death / die back over winter and how to bring it about.  A lot of information has been lost from the writtings of the Bible,  old and new testament,  maybe life after death is part of that information.   If the information was there, why was it left behind?  is it in fact still in existance but as yet undiscovered?   oooh  there really are more questions than answers,   this discussion is going to be the silver lining of why I am here on this forum,  also very very good pain relief !!

      Regards

      Jessie

Jessie! what a FANTASTIC observation. Yes we are hurt, anxious, terrified by our diseasses. But these diseases have brought us to the forum and we are so GLAD to meet each other. We have a hugely strong bond. And all of us know in our heart of hearts that the essential us goes on even when we have left our sick hurting bodies. Not one who has joined in this discussion or the others who are following it have disagreed on that. Only the details have differed.

Yes, it is you guys who have made me glad to be where I am. I would never have believed that back in July when I was an over anxious wreck.

      Hello Jessie,

So glad you get pain relief from the forum. I find the pain of my anxiety smoothed away by the forum friends. Wonderful ins't it?

Now your question. Kign Saul didn't know. He seached out a wise woman and peruaded her to call Samuel from his rest. How she did it or what happened to her knowledge I have no idea at all.

      regards, best regards, George

Ok, Doc ~ I love watching paint dry, gotta problemo with that! ?  lolol you goof! You made me laugh and any chance I get to do that emotion, I savor it!  I've read and read your post not knowing how to respond to it so I'm going to let my fingers do the talking and i'll sit back and see what transpires!

I would like to say that I am so grateful that this fourm is still active.  Just never know how people react to this kind of issues.  In fact, I'm almost surprised that no one has tried to squash us.  Utmost respect for those who venture in and read, but pass, I believe you may come back and if you do, please join in, there isn't a right or wrong answer, it's just people talking about "our" feelings and together, we're helping one another feel better.

Such a huge distraction, when I write and read what everyone has said, my pain subsides, oh no!! is it in my head??!! lol  Oh heck no it isn't in my head, as I have a quick reminder when I log off that my shoulders are in so much pain and my back aches beyond belief.  But, I have a purpose which I haven't had in such a long time.  I was so active with every bit of my life prior to the accident/sarcoidosis/sjogrens, was I happy? Looking back, most likely not.  Am I happy now, This week with respects to my emotions, I'm extremly happy.

I am thankful to all of  you, Doc and Jesse, Anne, Marey and Mark (btw where have you three disappeared to?  I've enjoyed your input immensely and it opened us up for further discussion, come backkkk pluuuuseeee come back!  wink

I will return later as my chicken soup smells like it's boiling! eeks, I haven't made wild rice chicken soup in such a long time.  My husband has to lift the heavy pot for me, I cannot stand or sit for any lenght of time so he picked away the meat from the bones for me, in essence, he's actually made it but he would never crush me by telling me this as he's just happy I'm up and about.  I have all you to thank for this.

I have always been able to "work" through  pain but this chronic pain, weeeee! not so much!

Anyway, to end on a positive, I am so excited to hear what all of you have to add to this discussion...OUR discussion!!!

      Hello George,

you mean you don't have fun watching paint dry !!   why I have so much fun putting different coloured post-it-notes on the various bits I have missed  to remind me to go over them again,  and keeping an eye on the time as the sun goes round so I can re-check the PINs and take down the ones that were not dried out,  sniffff,  which of course takes more time so I have to leave the paintover for another day,  and  some of the PINs fall off and a further check is required for missed bits which of course can only be done if the light is right,  ohhhhhh sireeee   watching paint dry is a very time consummmming  carefully carried out  procedure.

whattttt ,     you stopped reading ,    several  lines ago ,    humpphh  will stick with me PINs  I will.

Thankyou for making me welcome in what has been an enlightning discussion,  was a pleasure to join you both.
