An Experiment with Borax

So, I've been in Vietnam now for just over a month. Haven't had any itching, but the white plaque has expanded and looked like a bit more fusing had occured. Panic set in and of course I was trying not to. However, now that we're here, my husband has been able to start doing more research to help me. And he came across some stuff about borax. So we started an experiment 6 days ago. Not using any steroids, but instead each morning and night he's applying to one side a saturated borax solution and the other side a saturated baking soda solution (as we'd read that some people found baking soda helpful). We've been taking photos in order to compare as we progress. As mentioned, we are on day 6 and there is honestly some change! My clitoris which was quite white has returned to pink. And while the whole area still has some white, the pink is really starting to move in more. The biggest changes are on the side with the borax, with some change on the side with the baking soda (but since some of the borax can get rubbed off on that baking soda side we can't say for certain that the baking soda is having a major effect). We are feeling optimistic about this and I will keep everyone posted. During the day I do continue to add vitamin E oil to keep moisturized.

Great read! Where do you get your vitiam E?

Oh hi. I'm so sorry I missed your post. When I was living in Vancouver, BC I would get Vitamin E at a friend's store where they sold all sorts of wonderful things to make your own products. But I suspect if you're unable to find it sold as a liquid you could just buy the gel caps, prick them with a steril needle and get the oil that way.  A little more tedious. Hopefully you've found a solution since your post. Again, so sorry.

I have been using washes of Borax and then dabbing on emu oil.     With some success.     Happy to go on this way, but yesterday it suddenly occurred to me that  people have tried leaving the borax on for longer.     So , i thought, why not just add a pinch of borax to the emu oil?       So i did.     All good so far!

anyone else tried it?    Maybe i was just born to have adventures. :-)

Hey there! Soooooo, how're things going with your borax oil mixture experiment?

Well i used it when i went on holiday as its not really a great idea to fly with white powder in a bag....., but it doesnt dissolve that well, it makes the  emu oil lumpy.

however, i didn't run into any problems whilst i was away.

Definitely better than not taking any borax with me.

not continued it whilst at home, but going away again in a couple of weeks.    I wish i could figure out how to get the borax to dissolve in the emu oil.   Might try heating it, gently.

main thing was i suffered no ill effects.!

Hmmm, maybe I'll try experimenting. I don't have emu oil, but perhaps I'll try with another type.

    Hi Ladies

I've read this thread with interest but haven't yet tried the Borax treatment. I am one of those ladies who didn't realise I had LS until it was quite advanced. I turned up at the doctors about a year ago with sores/blisters on my vestibule. They had suddenly appeared and were making sex unbearable. She examined me and suggested it was LS, this was confirmed last September by biopsy. Unfortunately my disease was already quite advanced. At my first visit to the doctor she told me my labia minora had disappeared and although I immediately started on clob, the disease was on the rampage, and I now have extensive scarring to the perineum too. This causes me more problems than any other area now.

So my question is, has anyone noticed any improvement to the perenium with using Borax? I've tried many things with mixed success. Things work for a while and then suddenly I get a reaction. At the moment the bicarbonate of soda is keeping things a little calmer along with Advantan and Estrace, but it's an uphill battle! I'm tempted to try Borax but worry about making things worse again. I've been in almost constant flare for over a year now, so any help or advice would be welcome with regards to Borax and scarring on the perenium. I'm also using a dilator by the way.

The scarring doesnt stretch so the more scars you get the less the  perinium stretches.

i had the plymouth procedure, an op to reshape the skin, done a couple of months ago. ( in plymouth)...   Results are brilliant, i can't believe how much it was bothering me before......

i use Borax, which has halted, in fact, is reversing, the fusing.   I would't have considered the op if the LS had still been raging.

      xx

Thanks for the information. I will try to obtain some Borax and see if I can control the LS, then maybe think about surgery. I've been looking online but can't find a source (living in Italy). I'll keep trying and in the meantime keep on with the bicarb.Cant believe Borax is banned!

I bought some from a chemicals supplier.   They said they supplied only businesses, but i was able to pay by paypal....   Sadly they appear to have stopped selling it now, but there are others.     I also found some on ebay.

Hi Debbie,  Just a thought - if you can't find any Borax, can you do a search for sodium borate (or sodium tetraborate, or disodium tetraborate). That's all that Borax is.
