Ankle nuckle rubbing on my cast

I dislocated and fractured my ankle last Monday had the op last Wednesday. last night my ankle nuckle started to rub on my cast tonight its very saw and I can't get comfortable because of it.

is this normal please?

    If it continues to get worse you probably should get that seen to as you don't want the skin to get broken and possibly infected, but it may improve over the next couple of days. I did look on line and the suggestion seems to be if there is some swelling even putting an ice pack on the cast itself can help relieve discomfort. However it's been over a week (last Wednesday being last week, right?) so I shouldn't have thought there would be new swelling, but I don't really know. Try putting a cold pack on the cast and elevating the injured joint so it's above your heart. That will reduce any swelling. Have you started moving around more and maybe the chafing is worse because of that, even if you aren't actually putting weight on your injured ankle.
