Anybody had vasectomy reversal fix erection issues/erectile dysfunction ???

Hi im a 30 year old male that had a vasectomy in january 2013 (10 months ago)

I've been having ED (erectile dysfunction) for the last 1-2 months. Sometimes I'm able to attain a weak erection, my penis is noticeably softer than it was before all of the issues I'm having. After orgasm my penis looses girth almost immediately. Furthermore I'm UN able to continue with intercourse even with a rest of 30 or so mins, I have always been able to go multiple rounds of intercourse with my wife without any issues previously. I have always been very sexually active without any issues what so ever. This issue us really causing me to feel low and my wife is concerned for me, which is impacting on her ability to be comfortable during intercourse. I'm considering a vasectomy reversal due to this. My doctor has arranged the usual blood tests, i.e to measure testosterone levels etc. I'm yet to receive the results. I can only maintain an erection through intense physical stimulation. I previously only needed to be visually stimulated, this is very frustrating for me. Furthermore im only able to maintain an erection during vaginal penetration whilst im on top of my wife with my wifes legs are pushed up and back, as this gives me more sensation in my penis.. i struggle to maintain an erection when my wife is on top or if we do it whilst i'm behind her.

Im totally aware that those within the medical field will be totally dismissive of the vasectomy procedure being the culprit for my ED issue. However im a believer that not all people fit into the same category within current research, as we are all unique and no two people are exactly the same. Not all people's bodies will always react in the same way to the same situation.

Is there a way back from this mess without the use of drugs ??

Last night I failed to have an erection, even through intence visual and physical stimulation. I had consumed alcohol and did feel tipsy, I have always found alcohol enhanced my erections and sexual desire. This was very shocking for me. Due to this I reluctantly took 50mg of a viagra type pill that was prescribed by my doctor. It took well over 1 hour for it to work, I was able to have the best erection I've had I months. I don't want to take drugs to combat this issue, I'm becoming very depressed due to this.

Has anybody out there had this issue resolved by having a vasectomy reversed??

I'm concidering having it reversed to hopefully fix my erection issues. Furthermore I feel as if my testicles have atrophied (shrunk in size) somewhat since the vasectomy. If there is scar tissue and atrophied testicles etc or general damage to my genital area could my body heal the the damaged tissues etc through having a reversal??

any information would be greatly appreciated, and many thanks in advance .liam

Gentlemen , I might of have confused with my last post  so I'm here to clarify. I already has a Vesecromy Reversal .  My ED went away immediately . However somehow I might hurt my myself or the surgery develop scarring at the incisions.  I'm back to having the same ED problems. I'm so devastated . For may years the doctors would tell me "you are fine that is all mental and there was nothing wrong with my vasectomy " .That was not true . Our testicles produce 95% of the testosterone that keeps our body run at optimum performance . Without the testereone you will like develop , diabetes , mental illness , depression and Bone and muscle decline . Not to mention the ED problems (the worst ) so please don't waste time going to  the doctors and believe their lies. look for a surgeon and do a reversal as soon as possible .  Another conclusion hat I have is that this is an industry full of lies . Vasectomy only creates problems which in return there will be more drugs , more doctors more expenses more going back to especialists  and on on which creates billions of dollars the pharmaceutical industry . We been lied and Vasectomy  is like having cancer .or a deadly disease .. is a matter of time before your experience these symptoms  .   Google cuases of male hypogonadism and God helps us all .

A reversal is not always the answer as it itself can add many more problems and be the cause of others.

Before rushing into a reversal men need to really make themselves aware of the risks caused by surgery.

A reversal l can trigger PvP

It can add scarring to an already scarred area

If for fertility then regardless of stats by Drs it has very low, but expensive, chance of success

For SNOTS (Sex NOt the Same) it also has low risk of success

For ED issues it has minimal chance of success

I'm not saying surgery shouldn't be considered just that men have to really balance the risks of further issues against the chance of success and cost. In that equation as well will need to be the emotional cost of things don't improve or get worse.

Is there anyone out there following this thread that went with reversal procedure and has had improvements or complete turnaround in there conditions?

After reading for weeks, after trying multiple alternate solutions, I'm opting to do reversal and would like some lasting, confirming hope.

It doesnt look like syberkid has done the procedure as he has gone to other site/posts looking for answers. Still looking for alternative solutions due to cost of reversal in uk. this can really havoc on a man's spirit as its doing mine.

    Thanks in advance

If you ate having problems go get your testosterone checked out. After the vasectomy I had a epididymectomy a year later and my t bottomed out. I noticed as I felt shocking. Blood tests showed my T was now low. Ended up on replacement therapy. More surgery won't fix that so get checked first.

Yes, my husband showed immediate improvement. He says the pain he felt was gone instantly and there's much improvement in the bedroom. It has been 7 months since the reversal and he's very glad he did it. We found a dr that does it without sedation which is way cheaper and pretty much painless. I have seen post were it hasn't worked or made it worse for some, but for us it was a great decision.  Good luck.

Thanks ouchy.. all normal, T levels, thyroid, glucose, liver, im fairly healthy, mind is good. Didnt even think there was a problem, and originally thought it was training realted (triathlons), but after stopping training it persisted . Tried natural T and blood flow enhancements and have varied results but nothing stable.. no reason for me to have any complications which can only lead back to vas.

To be honest it doesn't matter if someone was successful in having the reversal reduce pain or not.

This is because I can guarantee there will be so many variables at play as to make it incomparable - weight, body size, exact area of problem, exact area of pain, age, Dr who performed original vasectomy, Dr who would perform reversal.

It is a gamble and that is the bottom line. Every procedure has a risk attached to it - your gamble is will I fall in to the safe zone or will I fall in to the risk zone

You could have 90 people tell you their op / reversal went fine and 10 tell you ti was bad news - all that tells you is that you have a 1 in 10 chance of ending up in a problem state or a 9 in 10 chance of not - but the gamble is there and it matters not one jot who was or was not lucky / unlucky before you as you are unique.

A reversal itself can trigger PvP - that means for soneone without it already they run risk of gaining it or for someone who already has PVP it means they risk making it worse.

Whilst the medical profession keep denying men the truth and saying things do not exist there seems to be an ever growing correlation between men having vasectomy and having their testosterone levels killed or gaining PvP

I was unlucky and saw PvP in both testicles and saw my testosterone levels plummet.

To try and ease the pain they did further surgery on both testicles - that made the pain worse and the testosterone refuses to come up despite replacement therapy.

I'm not saying ignore the positive story's on here, nor the negative come to that, but what I am saying is you have to make a decision and that decision has to be made on the basis of would you be happy with a poor outcome...if the answer is no then you do not proceed. Id the answer is well I have nothing to lose then you go ahead with further surgery

Thanks ouchy. Sounds like you've had quite a journey. I pray the power of God brings you healing. Granted we've made our choices in good faith and trust if our doctors and are learning that not all cases are the same. We can only hope that enough feedback to the industry will prevent such things or at least bring further awareness to those still willing

I understand the possible complications and why i am asking for hopeful, positive feedback as i can see nothing else my issues can lead back to.

Unfortunately there is no cure so I'm stuck with pain and testosterone replacement.

Even then my levels aren't good. Sex life is virtually non existant.

Sadly as long as Dr's and private firms can make a quick buck by lying about risks there'll be no change in industry - the medical profession is policed by itself and self serving medics have no desire or guts to curtail practices dangerous to patients if it means disrupting the revenue flow & income of a medical colleague

Hi Melissa, can you tell me what doctor you used? Im new at this. My BF had this done before he met me and I just stated the research.

hi, just fyi.. after doing various surgeries.. Ive come to conclusion that reversal is a mask for body's need to heal.. meaning the area is looking to heal after trauma of surgery so more blood is pumping through that area which gives affect of "fixed"

I ended up doing shockwave treatment. it does the same thing.. shocks the area to reteach it to heal damaged blood vessels from original surgery. it seems to be working and it's cheaper (specially if you buy machine)

I further take fenugreek and arginine to provide extra blood flow to area

      best to you

Reversal increases chances of having erection problems. I was fine until I had it reversed

    An update:

By the grace and kindness of God, I managed to convince my HMO that the vasectomy was the cause of my "intermittent" pain and ongoing ED issues and they agreed to cover it...

While there is still some sensitivity as it's only been less than 2 weeks, im already feeling improvements in both areas.

Ill provide an additional update at the 2 month mark to affirm status.

My thanks and blessingd to those who responded and continue to struggle with such issues.

Dr. Shapiro in Los Angeles, however, if you dont have Kaiser, the name wont matter.

Before docs agreed, i was going to go to Dr. Roeder in Texas. He was the most receptive and cordial out of all the known docs in boards and cost effective...

      Best to you friend.

Hello friend any updates on any improvements on eréctions, and pain?

Hi gene, apologies for delay. I wanted to give it a bit more time.

2-3 weeks after surgery i felt "revitalized" again. Complete 360 difference. At about a 1.5 months i felt a bit normalized though i had been taking advantage of my new found vitality that im not sure how "normalized" i am or just worn out :D , but i can say there is a significant positive difference with ED .

I will say that my vericocele has had an impact at times. When it flares, blood flow isnt as good, but still not as it was prior to surgery. When it flares i think it hits my stiches (still healing) and causes some minor irritation. pain i was having in right is completely gone.

I got sick with flu right after so my status has been subpar. But still better than prior to surgery. I was taking vitamins that helped and now they go beyond putting me at my new normal (4 yrs later) and to me thats a positive impact and absolutely know the vasectomy was the main cultprit.

If you have further questions let me know.

      Best.

it seems vasectomy and varicocile are a worse combination than vasectomy alone. had both reversal and fix and while there were improvements, it seems the long term affects are not holding. it's disheartening to say the least!

trying shockwave therapy as newest option to see if damage can be reversed.
