Anyone Have Success With Finasteride ?

Peter I'm sorry for what your going through.  Had the same problem  Have a stricture and enlarged prostate.  My doctor try me on many pills and the last one was Uroxatral  it worked to a point but got tired of being dizzy and the dry orgasm are the pits.  Talk to my doctor and I did a Uro-lift.  I had 4 implants put in.  I would never have anyone cut anything away from my prostate.  Not all doctors tell you everything.  I live in orlando fl  My doctor is great.  It's been 2 weeks and I am not taking any pill at all.  Not getting up at night and peeing good.  I'm 59 divorced and don't have sex alot but still watch porn and like to relax sometime.  Let me tell youe something else anout me I have a blockage on the life side of my heart and I also have High Pressure and I also have stage 2 sugar.  Everything is fine with them now and I do take viagra.  Orgasm are great and I am trying to work on trying to get them back to the way they were before.  Tere is allways hope.  Take care and I hope it all works out for you...Ken  

You may be a candidate for a penile implant. They work great! You have an erection when you want it for as long as you want it. Search the Web for penile implant info. There are also blogs on this topic.

Peter please wait and see what your doctor says.  Neal said to go for a penile implants surgery.  Please look it up and watch the video by Dr Paul E Perito MD.  You will be sam e hard all the time when you are going to have sex you push the ball in the scotum and it get you hard when your done you push the penis down and it deflats.  Just watch it.  And wait for the doctor and please don't let them touch your prostate anymore.  I'm glad I did what I did Don't have to get up at night at all.  If your doctor says it's ok.  I don't know how much your insurance will charge you.  Mine was  $225 for 30 pills.  I found a site from canada. You could also consider a Penis Pump. If viagra  is a no no for patients in the UK the NHS can prescribe approved ones

Well, the penile implant surely involves surgery, bit it usually is day surgery, or requires one over night stay. It's not nearly as bad as it sounds. The pills usually work for a few years, but can have side effects, e.g. vision / hearing problems and nasal congestion. The question is, will you be in better physical shape in a few years when the pills stop working?

Hi Ken. Many thanks for your thoughts. I am 63 . I have to do at home Blood Pressures 3 times a day for 7 days. I will be taking the results back on 19th may for him to decide next steps which I hope will be the  prescription of Viagra. All the very best .Peter

Hi Derek. I am hoping that I can be prescribed by NHS as my problems have resulted directly from the use of the Pills (Tamsulosin and Finisteride) and the TURP operation. I did n't have this problem before. I Will cross the bridge on the Pump when I next see my GP on his decision. Regards Peter

Hi Neal. I think the penile implant is a definite no no , I went through hell with the TURP operation and would not fancy another operation. I will see what the GP says when I next see him probably in a weeks time with regards to Viagra pills and go from there. Regards Peter

Good morning.  I hope all well go good for you.  I was on Blood Pressure pills for 15 years.  Stopped them last year was in the hospital  Was taking off them  Only take 2 81 asprins and tak it every day..Take later      

Good Morning Ken. Yep BP is medium high (Av over past 4 days 150/90) in the morning and reduces as the day goes on to a normal at night of 130/90.

Hence don,t think that I warrant BP pills, I am just hoping that I get prescribed Viagra to help.I take 1* 75mg aspirin per day due to a TIA I had 10 years ago, it used to be 2* 75mg per day but since the TURP operation which must have been very blooded, I was reduced to 1* 75mg per day. Can I ask why you let the Doctor talk you into that.  I was doing fine for many years Nerver went to the doctor.  About 15 years ago  my father died and I was not feel good.  My niece is a nurse for the top Heart doctor in michigan  I ended ip seeing him  Had a blockage on the left side of my heart and HB  Was on pills till last year.  Also take a suger pill.  Been doing great for many years lost 100 pounds.  My orgasm were great and some were very intense.  Last year I got very sick.  Throuht I had the flu Hed it coming out of both ends.  I called my son finally went to the hospital  Took blood and told me I have sepsis.  Had it in my blood for 8 weeks. was in kidney failure.  Then it hit the fan.  The doctor asked me for a urine sample.  I just peed before I got there  and don't pee on damand.  Well within 10 minutes I had a male nurse and a female nurse come in to my room till my son to leave I ask what was going on they never answered me the only thing the male RN said was to the other RN was take his pants off.  I did not even get the sentence out again  and my pants were not even off yet he force a catheter in me Never asked me my permission or nothing.  I gave up He pull that one out and they put another one in and was pushing it in and out yelling at me if I had a prostate proplem.  They never got it in.  They tryed again in my room even after I said no Never got it in . Never let anyone say having a catheter put in does not hurt.  It hurt me like hell When they removed one had blood on it and blood coming out.   I was on IV"s for 20 days.  a week later my BF dropped to 60 / 46 for 2 hour went back to the hospital  Evertime I stood my BP dropped.  It was my BP pills they were sucking all the water out of my body.  After I got better saw a urologist efter test he found a stricture right befor the bladder.  He told me that the nurse could have damadge me.  Well will all the pill and that nurse  I dont have the orgasm I had before.  My urologist know better then to talk about a turp or laser.  I looked up everthing before it done to me.  The urolift was the best  I feel great and I pee well.  Hope the stricture stay good because  because that surgery is the pits  Take care and I will put you in my prayers  Ken

I take it you mean why did I let the doctor persuade me to have the TURP operation, mainly because I thought it would improve my peeing problem which I used to get up at night 3-4 times to pee and hence interrrupted my sleep and also as part of the operation they would take samples of my enlarged prostate to test for cancer which was -ve and was a concern , but I did not do enough research on the operation and especially the side effects of erectyly desfunction and possible impotence. Please next time he whats to do anything look it up.  I told you that I have a stricture and right now it fine. But I looked up all of the surgery and most of the doctors do not tell you the risk and side effect.  Let me tell you what this one guy went thru.  His urologist told him that he had a small stricture less then a half inch. The doctor told him the best one is a end to end.  They cut the stricture out and they put the 2 ends together.  So he agreed.  When he work up the doctor told him it was worst.  He cut 3 1/2 in off his urethra. He can not make love to his wife and he and his wife are depressed.  Every time he trys it falls out.  Doctor told him that it was not a big deal if its going to help him pee.  What man what to lose all most 4 in for his penis.  My doctor said that he would never take it apond himself to do that.  maybe he said a in but no more.  Men need  do look everything up that is being done to themself. After that ordeal in the hospital and the catheter. I had papers done and they are not aloud to do anything unless they have my permission.  It is my body and I have to deal with the side effects.  Take care and enjoy life.  Take your wife out for a walk or dinner and just be together while you can  Life is so short it goes by fast  Ken
