Anyone NOT had any side effects on Citalopram?

Hi there,
After much deliberation, talking to just about anyone I could find and generally scouring the internet for information, I have decided to go with the Docs advice and take Citalopram, starting today. And then I found this site....
Has anyone NOT had any side effects on this? It is making me feel very worried about taking it. Am I just going to have to sit tight and presume the worst? Are there people who take it and dont feel nauseous and tired or even worse to begin with?
I would really appreciate any comments.
Thanks
M

So glad ur not feeling any of the bad side effects, it will help you to persevere with Cit, the reason my doc said to take in the morning was that they are a stimulant and if taken at night would keep me awake, which I didnt want to experience any further. As already not sleeping well, I am on day 7 and also getting EFT (/Emotional_Freedom_Techniques) and I feel the eft is really helping me. So fingers crossed,
take care Anne

I am glad you are feeling a bit better I will take a look at the eft is it something you do at home or in group ? I take mine at night but I still manage to sleep , I try to loose some of the side effects by sleeping through them .
I hope before you drive you feel better . I start to get anxious in the next hour thinking about the morning.
Take care and yes keep in touch

I am glad u manage to sleep with taking them at night and its a very good idea to sleep thru the all side effects, remember to use the Diazapam if necessary.
yes EFT has really helped me I got it one to oneand then do it alone when I feel anxious, it really seems silly as you are tapping on ur meridians ?? lolbut I learned how to do it only last week and I am not sure why but feel it really helped me, but u can just do it from utube
I don't get anxious at night thinking about the morning but I do as soon as I wake up. Hopefully if that happens tomorrow I am going to do EFT to calm myself.
Take care and sleep well, keep in touch.

I had a rough morning again today felt so sick and dry reaching but no headache today . I also feel a bit on edge . What I was wondering if anyone had ever cut the 20mg pill in half and take half before bed and half in the morning ? I was thinking it may allow me to get up and the take the second half. Upto last night I have taken 8 pills so a few days to go before I feel the benefits .

How do you feel when you wake as you take them in the morning ? Also after taking the nasty little pill can you feel it start to get into your system a short while later and if so how does that make you feel ? I have a job interview in about 2 hrs and i feel on edge but I really don't want to become reliant on diazepam and I have to drive it makes you sleepy prob fall asleep in interview .
I can't keep my legs still always on the move

sorry didnt see this till now, hope the interview goes well, I dont feel anything when I take the Cit, but when I wake up I just feel on edge, I think u will need to learn how to relax as it helps a lot when having to do something, meditation is good, and just takes ur mind of stuff long enough to give u some respite, I never did meditation before but right now I will do anything that helps, Belly breathing really helps as well, breath down deep into ur belly for 5 seconds and then slowly out for 7 seconds, clean air in gray air out, picture it.
Let me know how you go.

Have said it before..you will feel worse before you feel better..it takes 2-3 1/2 weeks to kick in
See my past posts
I nearly abandoned it
Then the light went on!!
Personally I wouldn't split it
Alters the whole chemistry of the set up

I started on 10 & then had it increased to 20 when it'd settled in & was working. Then 2 years ago I was struggling & it was put up to 40.
I've just had it reduced at my request--I'm doing so much btr now & hate meds. I now do pilates & yoga, finding it's helped so much. My core strength's building up nicely & my symptoms are much less.

No appetite at all, even thinking of eating puts me off, then I get hunger pains but still cant eat as feels like a big black band of pain stopping me eating in my stomach. Hope your interview went well.
DL Tapped - good to hear you are now coping, yes yoga etc is meant to be really good.
Take care guys

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling to eat too, Anne! It's a pain, I've been trying to drink more in the hopes that that'll at least give me some vitamins and sugars
