Thanks, I am still debating just what to do about them now. The Kelp is out for me due to a Thyroid problem. I was warned not to take it. So please update me about anything that happens and I will also.

Aw it's probably that same thyroid problem that is causing them to thrive. Apparently a study was done on rats and the only ones who had a problem with pinworms were the rats with a thymus gland which wasn't functioning properly. The kelp has helped with my bladder problem that's for sure. I used to run to the toilet constantly and now hardly at all brilliant! It doesn't sound like pinworms/threadworms you have that's for sure cos honestly as far as I know they don't crawl all over your skin (just in your bum).

My pattern goes like this - I get a really bad bout where I know I have them every few years and then I take medicine (usually more than the recommended dose) and then they go away for a while but I always have a feeling they are not gone for good. Believe it or not it hasn't really bothered me up until this time where I have just got so peeved off thinking why me but I really do think loads of people have them they just aren't as sensitive as some of us. I certainly find it hard to even see one at all and my husband thinks it is all in my head (which I don't really appreciate cos he probably has them too I mean how could he not?)

This time will pass believe me and your immune system will start to fight back, I think that's what happens with me anyway. Certainly go to the chinese doctors there might be one who is willing to help.

Good luck and keep us updated. My horrible time is over (for the time being).

I agree with "theworld " when he says not to rule out a fungal infection as the feeling is very similar (I have had both threadworm and jock itch). You can easily get a fungal infection after a course of antibiotics. Why don't you try Lamisil Cream (Terbinafine) and apply it twice a day to your anal area after a salt bath. If the itch clears starts to clear up in a few days then you know you had a fungal infection. This cream can be bought in any chemist without prescription. Believe me, the sensation is very similar and both are unbearable at night time.

I wish I had something like a fungal infection instead of these worms. Since my husband had these first I don't have any doubt what I have. It is definitely some kind of roundworm. I have seen these worms and picked them off my face and out of my ears so whatever they are I would like to get totally rid of them. Yes, I think they do subside and be quiet some time. The ability to travel to other parts of the body, lower themselves below the skin and procreate prolifically is the problem. I wish my immune system would take over and kill them but so far it has not. I think I have had them since 2008 or 2009, and I know my husband had them a long time before then.

Hi sarah did you get help?

Hi very sorry to hear about your plight. I have been fighting parasites to for the past couple weeks. Was so badly infested that i could see the budges in my belly where they colonized. I really noticed after eating chocolate, something that is not usually  in my diet.

      What worked for me

Teas :- wormwoods, ginger, blackwalnut hull, thyme (very good), cloves (kills eggs), senna (gentle laxative), fennel, chamomile (these also soothes the stomach) every morning and night.

Pumpkin seeds and papaya seeds mashed together with a little honey half hour before meals. I also used lots of garlic they cannot strive or reproduce in it. I found that combining thyme and garlic (again with a small amount of honey)  was very effective.

One other thing it is very helpful to modify the diet to accomplish what you want. I eliminated all refined sugar and processed foods, stayed away from flesh foods because most of what we eat make our bodies a cesspool and parasites thrive in these environments. Drinks lots of pure water, eat lots of fruits and vegetable, germs and virus cannot thrive in them. If your colon is backed up you may need stronger laxative like Epsom salt or castor oil, but you need to eliminate the toxins from your body and all the things I listed will kill parasite and pull toxins from your body; if your system is backed up the toxic load will be dumped in your colon and cause constipation.

One other thing , be persistent and consistent. All parasites have lifecycles from mature one to eggs sometimes we kill one cycle but various cycles are still there.

Oh and i use apple cider vinegar and baking soda to clean my private parts every time i use the bathroom. Bathe in them sometimes too to remove whatever eggs maybe on my skin.

One thing I have leant from the experience is I have to try different herbs and things at different times because they become used to something when it is used long and it become more difficult to get to them. Garlic and thyme, pumpkin seeds, and papaya seeds I use every time but the herbs I switch up every seven days.

Caution be careful with garlic it can plummet your blood pressure.

Look up herbs from your area that can eliminate parasite there are tons of them

Hope this will help your mom all the best

Doctors will most likely not help you with this infestation, but if you can, get a referral to an Ifectious Disease Specialist, and keep having Blood Work done, especially checking your "white blood cell count", as it is the beginning of severe health problems in your body, as far as parasite infections gp...only speaking from experience, as I am "not a doctor", but in some ways, have more expertise than a lot os Docs do, as I have an open mind and am "actively" seeking answers and help for this "threadworm/pinworm" infestation that has lasted over a year and has kept me from seeing my family amd friends, as it is very contagious...Seeing another specialist this week and fighting for my life, as it has caused several other helath issues, at age 59, after being a "health fittnes finactic" for all of my adult life...any other suggestions and ideas are welcome...I truly believe tht we need to keep helping one another, alwayssmile

I have posted on another similar thread. My family had them last year and we got rid of them completely, but it was because we stopped believing everything our GP said and sought other medical and natural remedies.

Firstly, both of my toddlers have Type 1 Diabetes, which makes their stool very sugary, which is an environment threadworms thrive in. Secondly, I didn't know this at the time, but my husband was having a sexual affair with another woman (yeah, yeah, I have heard I need to leave him already, but that is beside the point of dealing with TW--we have gone to family therapy, he cut off ties with his other woman, we are dealing with it),

We tried OTC stuff which about killed my kids because they were allergic to it. Then we tried the single dose of Mebednazole, which seemed to work for a few weeks, but then symptoms came back with a vengeance.

By happenstance I had to take one of my sons to Urgent Care and told the GP that we were still getting infestations of Threadworms. He finally gave us the scoop. He was from South Africa and and he told me these parasites are notoriously hard to get rid of if more than one person in the house is showing symptoms. The reason is that they mature in the upper intestine and only come down to the colon to lay their eggs. The trick is to kill all of the mature adults and then come back 12 to 14 days later and kill the ones that were not mature during the first treatment. It gets even dicier, though, because by the time people start showing symptoms, eggs are likely spread around the house and these become airborne and remain viable for up to 2 whole months.

Nothing on the planet, no medicine, no herb, nothing kills these parasite eggs EXCEPT Ground or Crushed Clove Herb taken regularly for the entire time you might be exposed to viable eggs. That means you must take Ground Clove Herb with every meal for 6 to 8 weeks post second treatment with Meb. He suggested:

First treat of Meb should be twice daily (morning and bedtime) for three days. Wait 12 to 14 days and take a second course of Meb twice daily for three days. After this take the ground clove for at least 6 weeks. This means everyone in the family.

You may wonder how I found my H was having an affair...well, I had to order the Meb from overseas because they don't make it in the US anymore, so I ordered 90 tablets just in case we got the parasites again at some point in the future. I knew exactly how man tablets we had and how many we had used. As my family was struggling to rid ourselves of these parasites I was talking to my husband about how everyone was infected and we ALL had to take the medicine or else we would keep spreading back and forth to each other. He became almost panicked and said he thought it was only a childhood illness and only kids could get it and infect one another (as though adults had developed an immunity to it or something). When I explained children usually bring it home and infect their parents and that their parents could spread it back and forth between them he looked ashen and was nearly speechless.

At this point I suspected he might be seeing someone and that the reason we couldn't get rid of the parasites was because SHE was infected, too and that he was catching them back from her and spreading them to the rest of the family I made a point of telling him where I kept the extra tablets and told him to use them if he felt he was still showing signs of infection. Sure enough, 6 tablets disappeared the next day.

Of course I looked through his phone, followed him, took pictures and confirmed he was actually having an affair. I called her and put her on the spot (because she was married, too! and her H has a violent felony record). Needless to say, that was the end of that affair. Also, I left him for a while, yada yada, family therapy, whatever.

The long and the short of it is, we got rid of the skank who was breeding and reinfecting us, also, we had our house professionally cleaned and all the carpets and sofas steam cleaned and followed the South African MD's advice (especially the Ground Clove to get rid of any residual eggs that might be lying around).

There is also some really good advice regarding how to clean your sheets, change your underwear, wear gloves and a mask when you clean. Lastly, we consumed pulverized papaya seed smoothies everyday for a week, which really did the trick. It works because these seeds contain an enzyme that is strong enough to eat away the skins of parasites and lets your bodies' own digestive process kill them. It kills more than thread worm, too. It gets just about everything but tapeworm, I think.

Before anyone comments that I should have left my H, please remember, I have two Type 1 Diabetic VERY YOUNG children who need 24 hour care regarding their blood sugar and insulin injections. I CAN NOT WORK. My husband had a very humiliating experience with getting caught and my calling his mistress. It was disgusting and appalling in every way, but divorce is not ALWAYS the answer. Please don't comment on that situation, I only brought it up so people can understand how important it is that EVERYONE affected by these critters must be treated or they will continue to cycle through AND REINFECT the entire group.

Hi InterestedMom1, this sounds very helpful! I'm awaiting an order of Albendazole from overseas where it is much cheaper than the U.S. I plan to follow what you've explained above using Albendazole instead. Do you know how much of it should be taken daily since you say twice? I ordered 200 mg per day. Trying to figure out if I need to hurry-up and order more?

Also, has anyone else had bloating, nausea and dizziness with these threadworms?

      Thank you for your help!

Yes, you have those symptoms and more.  I had bowel movement about 30 minutes after I ate throughout the day.  Also I got so bad I couldn't go through the day without taking a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.  SO TIRED!  Just eat some pumpkin pepitas and examine your stool.  You will see them if you have them.

Bless your hearts.  So sorry to hear of your plight (on every level), but so glad to hear your happy ending.  How lucky for you that the doctor was from Africa and had first hand knowledge of your cure.

Exactly how much Ground Clove did he suggest to take with every meal, please?

I've been suffering for 9 months now.

      Thank you!

I followed the advice of IM above and it was the magic bullet, especially the papaya smoothies. I am not sure what the the dose should be for those but I had two per day. Also not sure how much of a papaya you should use per dose, but I used a quarter of a papaya smoothie so in effect I was consuming half a papaya per day and it worked for me.

Also I know you requested no comment regarding your personal issues but I think you did the right thing and I fully support your decision and I admire your courage and determination to rid your family of this horrible affliction. I don't think I would be cured without your caring input. Thank you x

Thanks, Desiree, you are so kind for understanding. I am very glad you are doing better now, and if my comments had a small part in it, you are very welcome. Good luck to all those who suffer from this parasite, it takes a while, but it can be gotten rid of. Do not give up hope smile
