Sometimes I find my parents are really not supportive of me sad been crying today

Cause my dad says stop making excuses to see him Iv been feeling rubbish and I said can't help it. And he put life isn't always about you! Made me soo upset to even say such things to your daughter! sad

Why does everyone think I'm making excuses! I wish people who don't understand would walk in my shoes for the day.

Hi Miichelle,   like you i have just been diagnosed as having MAV....migraine associated vertigo.   Am on beta blockers for the anxiety........as anxiety makes it worse........unfortunatley cant sleep cos of beta blockers........and lack of sleep can also make mav worse.   You should find that once they get your meds right you can get back to normal.

      Hello mark

Is nice to talk to someone who has been told they have got MAV

And been placed on beta blockers how long u been on them?

Iv not been sleeping eaither. Bags under my eyes are terrible and I keep jumping in my sleep and having weird thoughts and I cry most nights too. Do you have the same?

Like you said the lack of sleep makes things a lot worse.

Hi Michelle,   Been on propranolol for the last 3 weeks......first 2 weeks wasnt too bad as doc gave me sleeping tablets...but wont give me any more........as they are addictive.   Crying.....yes, feel like it,  but have not been sleeping at all, so no jumping in sleep.......    I had a beer last night to make me sleepy.....but even that didnt work.   Have you tried alcohol since you have had mav......how did it effect you if you did ?   I also seem to get a constant headache between the eyes and am sensitive to light.......not sure if this is the MAV or the beta blockers ?   Do you get that ?    BTW was diagnosed as having labyrinthitis by doctor, so saw DR S in Blackheath privately to get MAV diagnosis.......seeing him on NHS at the Medway in two weeks time.   Will they do MRI scans etc, as a matter of course, does anyone know  ?

I had glass of shandy and seemed fine I tend to drink low % anyways as I don't like taste Of drink and 2 it's not good for u on meds.

I get terrible blurred vision. Last couple days Iv been weening off them as I hate the effect they been causing me first 2/3 weeks I was fine.

They effect different people I think.

They wanna try me on something new.

Iv had all MRI ect done. You should deffo get all that done incase it is something else. Also MAV is also caused by lack of vitamins apparently. ( there's also Facebook group pages that's just for MAV ) and a lot them are on magnesium ect.

      Hi Mark

Ive had mine now two and a half years.  They thought I had labyrinthitis at the beginning, I saw endless ENTs, had an a MRI scan, then saw neuro surgeon then saw two neurologists.  Theyve decided Ive got migraine, but chronic silent migraine.  That means all the dizziness 24/7 plus massive sensitivity to lights and sounds, weird neurological head stuff, eyes feel like they are being pulled out.  Pain in jaw and cheek, back of head.  Pins and needles on top of head. Occasionally giant headache but not often.  Lots of low lying headaches.  All of which I can stand but the dizziness drives me round the bend.  Had to give up my dancing classes so am gutted.  Cant jive in this state.  Ive been on about 9 different meds none of which have worked.  Nortriptyelen helps you sleep the best.  But very tired in the day and hard to get things done.  I didnt need my sleeping tablets when I was on that.  Im in sun glases all the time, people must think Im bats in the belfy !  Ive managed to get myself moving even though I really didnt want to.  I have found that keeping going does help, I can now go shopping for  full day whereas I had so many aborted attempts and ended up back in bed.  I am at my best on holiday where there is no stress so Im sure it contributes to it.  Ive tried having an alcoholic drink but as I hate the dizzy feeling, it just made it worse.  So dont drink anything alcoholic any more.  Ive had two bad days at work this work - dont know why havent done anything different but normally I can deal with it.  So shattered at the end of each day - I think its because my brain is trying to deal with the conflicting information its getting from my brain, eyes and ears. Really wears you out.  I went to the migraine clinic in harley st and had botox and it helped with the jumpy eyes problem so got botox appmt next week on may 6 with the NHS,  This is truly a bizarre ailment, and everyones worse nightmare.  I hope someone finds a cure soon,

    Hi guys

Hope everyone is feeling positive and feeling good.

So Iv been refered to pyhsio as you know for my neck I went. And she said my neck is very tense. She was very good she also said I had scolosis in my back.

She gave me acucupunture for the migraines in my neck. So I'm gonna be doing a course of massage therapy and acucupunture.

I think you should all look into this. It may work for you it may not.

I'm hoping this will work for me. I'm 23 I need my life back. I'm also doing counselling to once a week.

I'm off all meds now dr thinks there's too much going on. And have a little cleanse. The beta blockers wasn't working for me & made me not sleep.

    Have a lovely day ❤️❤️

I ve been having acupunture and found that helps. I didnt like the dizziness with betablockers. Think they help the anxiety but its the dizziness we want gone really! Hope the couns helps. I found that although stress wasnt the root cause of my lightheadedness (it turns out to be more complicated like many people on here) the counc and relaxation does help you cope with everything better and deal with the stresses and frustrations easier. xx

Hello I'm glad the acucupunture helped you smile

      I'm hoping it helps me.

Yeah I say to the counsellor all time I feel depressed due to my issue. I was in Ibiza last year for 3 months loving life & all sudden all this happened to me. I'm 23 should be with my friends not in bed every weekend.

I totally agree what you mean counselling just helps me I think as nice to talk to someone about all you're problems that doesn't judge or isn't a family member.

I'm stuck in bed ATM swollen leg sad got reaction to bites so waiting go walk in center. & feeling little anxious cause I'm sick of drs now uknow makes u feel low being in there all time sad

Hope you have a great weekend ❤️

Hey guys haven't posted for a while

How you all doing? Good I hope 😊👍

Iv been abit better ( touch wood ) dizziness isn't 24/7 it seems to come in little episodes and then goes away. Iv been refered to osopath and now get acupuncture in my neck & I go counselling too. I'm tryna keep myself busy. I notice wen I'm little stressed & nervous too it becomes worse the dizziness & my neck is so tight too so gotta keep up the accupunture & massages.

Im on no meds having a cleanse and gonna be keep postive. I need to start turning my life around instead of falling back into my dark sucidal stage I don't wanna go back there. All best guys ❤️
