Hello fellow Bisoprolol buddies - I cannot actually believe that I didn't think of doing a search on Bisoprolol earlier as it is so comforting to have discovered this web page. I have been taking Bisoprolol Fumarate 5mg daily for the past 3 years following a frightening episode in town which resulted in my spending a week in the Cardiac ward of our local hospital. I had SVT while in hospital and the 'specialists' couldn't actually put a cause to my soaring blood pressure and rapid heartbeat. So, I've been told to stay on these tablets for life... I'm 48 now, was 45 then.
The comforting thing about reading the majority of these posts is that so many people are feeling ridiculous levels of tiredness; I don't recognise myself from 3 years ago. This isn't whingeing, just stating a fact. I have piled on the pounds - particularly blubby around my midriff - yet I eat less than ever. I am sometimes so overcome by exhaustion that I have to stop even the most trivial of chores. I have lost my 'get up and go', yet used to be so active with my three kids. I used to be so house proud, yet now can'tbe bothered other than to 'keep on top' of the housework. I used to love socialising, again, can't be bothered most of the time and when I do, I am glad when it is over. I love the peace and quiet of my own company so much more now and feel exhausted by company. Yet I AM ONLY 48 YEARS OLD!!!
I realise I am lucky to be alive, to be uncursed by serious ills, but still, it is healthy to have a little moan now and then, and gratifying to feel online empathy with other 'sufferers'. I find that my partner and children don't really understand - can't blame them, I don't truly either.
Take care one and all.

Incidentally my husband also has AF (how's that for togetherness?) and was in permanent for eight years and then had an ablation which has lasted a year and now he is paroxysmal and showing the familiar symptoms which I once had. Once he saw that I had battled and got Pradaxa, he did the same and we are now both on this wonderful drug. My daughter in America also says that Warfarin is a drug of the past over there.

I do hope your GP listens to you...bisop and rampril are life savers for some, but I can't tolerate the side effects. I really do know how bad the tinnitus is. I hope I've not kept you awake reading this. Take care.

Cardiac Rehab & ask some questions! Embarassing ones for them I hope! I have a level of deafness conducive with my age (72 next Tuesday) but Tinnitus is new over the last two months or so along with unexplained nasal congestion! Prior to my HA I rode a 750cc motorcycle
but don't now thanks to having the crap scared out of me because of "over exertion!" I won't bore you with more tonight but If I can get back to you tomorrow I sure would appreciate it! Thanks for your time!
Best Regards Henry

Back to the tinnitus....sorry but I forgot also to add that whilst on my meds I had a runny nose.not got that now and also my hearing is better, not as foggy in my head too. Maybe the congestion? Meds? Also my sister in law has tinnitus. She suffers hell with it. She was told not to have grapefruit!. No other info or med, just listen to music! However I read that atenlol can affect hearing and tinnitus. I gave her this info as she is taking atenolol for high BP. She's not convinced with my info and continues to suffer in silence. It's so difficult to convince your GP that meds can be causing trouble. It's also scary to take the matter into your own hands.
My BP seems ok...the bottom number is always high...up to 90, the top figure 130 or less. Pulse is crazy... Up to 116 bpm. The doc article I read drjohnm has helped me tremendously. I wish I could make an appt to see him!
good luck with appt and those caring nurses! Not good enough! Seems money is paramount. mr Hunt! I despair at the state of our NHS. Education ,public services are in the same boat. I must get off my soap box! Best wishes. Hope this will help.

Ramipril is a major player in the game of Tinnitus! As is Furosomide! Let me explain! I don't take furosomide regularly but occasionally to remove swelling from my feet! But it causes Gout! I will take my medication later but will cut the Ramipril to 5mg & eliminate the ticagrelor! My choice! I have been on a visit to the sister in law 12 miles away & can't believe that I have no Tinnitus! But I have the feeling of being "underwater" when I speak! My nose is like a tap! I have Rhino "whatever" Someone out there knows what my problem is!

I'm so glad you've had no tinnitus...thank God! I know you'll make sure that it's ok to cut this med...not like me! I've binned it! I hope it doesn't come back to bite me!
Fingers crossed, you have some peace...at last! Keep in touch and best of wishes from me.

Getting back to rampril...I hope you've found the reason for tinitus. Docs don't always accept the side effects of meds. I know. I have struggled for Years thinking it was the AF and being overweight and sitting around. I was so much more active until I got these meds. I retired at 60, but was then asked to do part time at another school. Teaching isn't a job where you can sit on your backside!
Anyhow,I think I'm going in the right direction, just peeved it's taken 5 years. Enough of me. I'm raising my glass of wine to you. All the best. Keep in touch.

2 years ago I lost sight I. My right eye, albeit for a few secs. I saw the on call emergency doc,who thought it wasn't a TIA ( thank goodness), had full check at hospital 3 days later. Results were fine,no evidence of Tia. My GP said it could have been a migraine.( never had one before), after checking, I believe it was the atenolol 100 mgs . My eye recovered, had no problems since then,my beta blocker reduced to 25 mgs with GP! I'm now atenolol free but my doc doesn't know!
Well done you for doing the checking! I don't expect any doc to know everything! Hope the tinitus is ok today.

I'm taking antibiotics for something my HA medication may be causing! & my GP maybe hasn't spotted the connection yet! And I bet CR will be "Surprised" when I have my word with "PALS!" Three months of my life spent suffering something that probably could have been averted! Remember it was CR who had my Ramipril dosage increased! To say I'm angry is an understatement! BTW I've found something else that alleviates Tinnitus! Anger! HA or not I'm having a dram of Jura! The others on here will hopefully be taking note! Speak with you soon!
