Blotchy red rash/irritated skin on penile head (lasted for over 3 moths now)?
Posted , 410 users are following.
Part of the skin on the head of my penis has become slightly red and is causing some pain/irritation.
It first appeared the day after I used a condom so I think I must have had a reaction to the latex or some other substance in the condom.
The tip of the penis became super sensitive and noticeably hurt whenever it touched my underwear.
The skin was and still is noticeably red close to and directly around the meatus. This redness gets worse and bigger after I've come out the shower or masturbated.
An hour or so after ejaculation, I get a slight burn/irritation at the very end of the urethra when I urinate and this can last for a few days before subsiding. This has put me off from masturbating as much now.
This has lasted for about 3 months now with no signs of improvement.
I saw a doctor and was prescribed timodine/hydrocortisone cream and this didn't have much effect and am slightly worried it may just make things worse so have stopped using it for now.
It almost seems as if the redness comes from within the skin rather than on the surface.
I don't think its balanitis as I haven't had that for over 12 years when I was a kid and that was with the usual smegma discharge etc, whereas this is just redness.
I've attached images to show how it looks straight after showering, which is when the redness is at its worst and the contrast between the normal skin colour and the redness can be clearly seen.

i would suggest you in this case you need to apply mustard oil on top of the penis.
apply it while sleeping at night. apply before taking bath. apply after when you take bath. don't masturbate or have sex until you get your penis normal.
be positive. don't too worry.
that's all you need to do.

This has to be a form of hpv. My wife was also tested and it was found she had hpv and it had reached early stages of cervical cancer. We have that under control..
Having had this for nearly 10 years, not much has changed with my situation. Same symptoms of everyone else, with a few other differences. I had some interesting stomach problems pop up around 2 years ago and I have tingling and muscle spasm all over body. no doctor can figure this out.
I have been trying to cut out cheese and take probiotics. Hopefully we can find resolve soon. I also hope we be safe with our sex life, as it does appear you could impact partner. GOD BLESS

Ariat879, has your wife had an HPV DNA test performed to determine what strain you're both infected with? I would be curious to know if it is 16, 18, 6 or 11..
Your reply ties into my growing belief that HPV (both low and high risk) stays with you for life and doesn't really lie dormant. I personally believe it causes your immune system to continuously work at preventing it from developing warts, tumors, etc because the virus continuously attacks the mucosal areas of your body.
This would explain why many people who are infected with it tend to get other opportunistic bacterial, fungal and other inflammatory conditions, both on their skin and in other mucosal areas of your body (e.g. gut, throat, groin, etc.)
Throughout my recent battle with side effects of Hpv 6 (warts, SIBO, atypical moles, etc.) I have had my immunoglobulins tested (to rule out Celiac or an immune deficiency). While everything came out negative and most of them were found to be normal . I did find that my IgA immunoglobulin is borderline high (IgA = 350ish).
The IgA antibody is responsible for protecting your mucosal membranes. HPV DNA is thought to attack your mucous membranes... the connection is pretty obvious if you think about it.
I hope that the medical community will one day see this connection too and use it to develop a treatment that reliefs or resolves it entirely.

ill find out. interesting note, due to constant stuffy nose and recurring sinus and tonsillitis, i had surgery done. Sort of matches up with immune and mucous membranes, as you mention. I still have issues with sinus and stuffy nose 6 years later, but to a lower degree. Part of me thinks that we all have some auto immune issue even prior to infection.

Does anybody else have any confirmation on HPV?

I think many of you are over reaching when it comes to some wild strain of HPV. That's not to say that some of you aren't experiencing or have contracted HPV, but this is not everyone's issue, even if you have suffered from this for a long period of time. In many cases, stress and over worrying about this issue only makes it worse.
There are many strains of fungus that are common that are now drug resistant, so you can apply all the antifungal medications you care and it won't make much difference because the drugs that once worked no longer work. There are some drug resistance stds these days, and fungal issues are also falling into the drug resistance category, so this is nothing new really.
Drug resistance fungus was the issue I had. I had the same symptoms of red rash and red dots that came up every single time I had any type of contact or friction, so it is indeed hard on your sex life until you get a handle on it. Go to a doctor and explain your symptoms and suggest that you may have a drug resistance fungal infection, because my issue did not respond to any of the usual fungal treatments. It helped, but as soon as I stopped applying the medications, it always came back again.
Make sure you get tested for all STDs to be certain, but if you are given an all clear in that area, then you are likely experiencing a fungal infection that is azole resistant. There are also several types of dermatitis that you could have that make the problem linger or could be your sole problem. If you put hydrocortisone on your issue and that helps, then you likely have some dermatitis issues going on, but you need to figure out the root cause and not just treat it with creams.

Maybe reaching, maybe not. curious if anyone on this thread has experienced thyroid issues in past or during the blotchy skin symptoms from original post? There has to he some other connection if not hpv, IMO. Something that impacts overall immune system health and prostate. Seems that no doctor can figure out the skin condition, but with an autoimmune disease like hashimoto's; could be even harder to diagnose.
Has anyone seem any improvement?

I have had my thyroid tested twice and had both, xrays and CT scans of my abdomen. pelvis, chest and throat. Nothing was noted other than a very small adrenal nodule, which so far has been found to be benign and nonfunctional (it has been tested thoroughly). I also have been tested for Celiac disease twice, I have had a digital and PSA Prostate test and every STD panel and Urinalysis known to man. The only thing even partially relevant found so far was low-risk HPV back in late 2017, minor staph elevations in the urine in 2017 and a pretty severe case of SIBO in early 2018 (which was successfully treated last year).
However, as an update, I recently had my vitamin levels checked during my annual checkup and the doc found I had a low Vitamin D level (approx 12 ng/mL). I have since been supplementing Vitamin D for the past two weeks and have noticed an improvement in my skin overall, particularly in my groin. I have continued my daily use of Chaga Oil because it keeps things hydrated and I'm paranoid about the extreme dryness returning. I refuse to use any lotions or creams with ingredients I can't pronounce on my little fella.
Therefore, getting your vitamin levels checked wouldn't be a bad idea. Vitamin D is critical to your immune system function and wound healing, as well as for other things. Proper Zinc levels are important to ward off fungal infections. I personally would supplement anything unless you're directed to do so by a doctor from actual blood results.

I should also note that my erections are stronger and last longer since I've been on the Vitamin D too. May be TMI but hey... if it helps just one of you then I'm happy.

Hi Jim!
You say that you had a drug resistant fungal infection, I'm very much on board with this view and have suspected the same for myself for a long time. I've done lots of research into it and a lot of times people are resistant to fluconazole and clotrimazole, but maybe not to nystatin and vice versa. What antifungal did you use to cure your condition? I've tried a lot of different treatments and had little success so far.
Thanks! 😃

ive literally written on loads of posts like this now.
get dermol 500 and apply that. also use it to wash yourself in the shower.
you see so many of these posts and no one ever posts a solution.
this was mine so trying to spread it around for everyone else that has it.
i had red rash like this and small red spots, no sti, after using this it hasnt come back for 8 months now.
give it a go and let us know how you get on

I've had that for a while and saw little improvement with it. I use it twice a day everyday in the shower and no change. I think what I have is a subcutaneous fungal infection so most topicals can't reach it,

i had it for about 8 months and posted my solution but maybe no one read it... i got SOMXL and the acelorator and used that. it took about 12 weeks but went away and it hasnt been back. ive been free of it since last may and mine was a pretty extreem case

i do hate to say it but i believe a couple of the guys are more intrested in the discusion than the cure and when valueble information is put out there they try to drown it out

That is very interesting as I know that as a over the counter treatment for warts (a homeopathic treatment for low- risk HPV). I actually have a tube of it; although I haven't had to use it for that purpose (I bought quite awhile ago). Personally, I still have good results with Chaga oil but not 100% resolution (more like 90% so I still use it daily). Maybe I'll give SOMXL a try for a week to see if I get 100% clearance.
As far as others burying solutions, I'm not exactly sure I totally agree. I think we're all a bit helpful and optimistic at first and then some get less so the longer they don't see positive results. The root of the problem is our individual conditions are likely all a bit different in nature, intensity and duration. Regardless, I appreciate the posts and feedback from each and every one of you.
Keep up the good fight gentlemen.

yours sounds a bit diffrent from the majority of us... what i had looked like a big red birth mark that may or may not be related to the same virus as the warts i just know i was in distress over it and somxl fixed it

Interestingly I just read the ingredients for SOMXL, and it contains Ozone. I used ozonated olive oil on my glans and foreskin back in Summer and it was working for a fee days, then I got contact dermatitis and all the skin started burning off essentially (it was a mess lol), and when it healed up 2 weeks later, there was a SINGLE DAY where I had absolutely no symptoms, I was cured for one day. Then it came back and my glans and foreskin got red again. So for ME at least, a lower dose ozone might work, and SOMXL could do it. I'm pretty sure I don't have HPV though, but I think it could help with removing my subcutaneous fungal infection that I think I have. I can't recommend Ozonated Olive Oil however as that will take your skin off...
