Blotchy red rash/irritated skin on penile head (lasted for over 3 moths now)?

Part of the skin on the head of my penis has become slightly red and is causing some pain/irritation.

It first appeared the day after I used a condom so I think I must have had a reaction to the latex or some other substance in the condom.

The tip of the penis became super sensitive and noticeably hurt whenever it touched my underwear.

The skin was and still is noticeably red close to and directly around the meatus. This redness gets worse and bigger after I've come out the shower or masturbated.

An hour or so after ejaculation, I get a slight burn/irritation at the very end of the urethra when I urinate and this can last for a few days before subsiding. This has put me off from masturbating as much now.

This has lasted for about 3 months now with no signs of improvement.

I saw a doctor and was prescribed timodine/hydrocortisone cream and this didn't have much effect and am slightly worried it may just make things worse so have stopped using it for now.

It almost seems as if the redness comes from within the skin rather than on the surface.

I don't think its balanitis as I haven't had that for over 12 years when I was a kid and that was with the usual smegma discharge etc, whereas this is just redness.

I've attached images to show how it looks straight after showering, which is when the redness is at its worst and the contrast between the normal skin colour and the redness can be clearly seen.

Hi all, just wondering if any one had any cure for this? basically unprotected oral sex and two days later I had issues. Not sure if i match with every one but i have had the following for probably 3 months.

    frequent need to urinate

    loose stools

    itchy testicles and bum

    slight pain in bum

    rash on penis head

    irritated and inflamed when erect

there are a few other minor things but the main issue that it does not go away. some days it looks/feels better but some bad days.

initial test after 2 days for chlamydia, gonnereha, syphlis and HIV all negative. 15 days teat for chlamydia and gonnereha negative.

tried canesten for thrish for a couple of weeks, no joy.

lockdown has caused issues with being seem by the clinic. i have paid £160 for a test for 11 stis and awaiting results.

this has ruined my life, and need an answer asap. Hope i can get sorted.

    Any input welcome.

I'm afraid Wes as you can see by the length of this trail no one has anything firmed up yet so do keep us posted if some success. Don't forget we may all have something slightly different ie. I have no discharge or issues with urination

I know everyone is slightly different but a few similarities. I will let you know how i get on. 3-5 days, nervous to be fair but hopefully get an answer.

      Hi guys,

So no definitive answer but test results back. In short all negative, however a couple of bacteria's have been detected in my urine sample which standard tests don't look for, which are:

      Ureaplasma

      Gardenenella

The doctor said both could be the cause but really i need to see someone to examine and look at whats going on and do a swab.

My plan now is to go to the Gum clinic, show my findings and mention these things and hopefully get antibiotics which work and clear it up. Thats the hope.

i dont know much about either of these things and to be honest never heard of them but quick googling confirms bacterial and can be acquired from sexual contact.

Another point to note was herpes test was only urine so would need to be active to to show up. Cant rule this out but speaking to the doctor my symptons arent standard for this and been ongoing for 3 months and feels more likely an infection. Suggested getting checked before doing a blood test.

i hope thats helps someone as it sucks big time. i will keep you all in the loop with progress. Will be a while as need to get to the clinic and test which is hard with lockdown.

Good in lots of respects frustrating in others as still dont know how to fix. Lockdown certainly making this more tricky to deal with.

    Hey guys,

So i was reading in line and I came across the diagnoses of NGU or non ghonnoccal urethritis which means its a urethritis that is undefined or for sure not from gonorrhea. I read that a common treatment is 1 gram of Azithromycin and 2 g of Tinidazole so i got those and tried it. I felt a bit better but today im back to the usual. Any new ideas ? Hope? Suggestions ?

I've had the same problem for about two years know. Gone through all the STD testing and all negative. Seen Dermatologist and Urologist also and they can't really figure it out. I've had enlarged prostate issues and have gone through antibiotics . Originally started with small red spots and redness and after using a variety of creams, the spots went away but know I just have pretty much redness and aching all the time. See attached photo. Does it look similar to your guys'?image

looks like mine , I also have a little bump in my meatus. No pain or ichiness , also every std test came negative , they found cocobacillus gram positive but the uretral bacterial flora was normal. I gave up on this , doctors dont want to help. I also thought about streptococcus.

After two years i am better by just washing with water and using a single towel for my glans.

Yep, looks just like what I'm dealing with. No results yet. Not had any issues with meatus but did have a bout of Epididymitis which is why I think mine is bacterial in nature

how stressful are eveyones lives? im curious if we're so stressed ( work, no sleep) that our bodys cant properly fight the infection because our immune systems are weak from stress

If you want to have your immune system tuned up to fight off invaders, "get the needed amount of sleep every night and avoid chronic stress," said study leader Stoyan Dimitrov, a researcher at the University of Tubingen, Germany.
