BPH, Ejaculation and Prostate Massage Therapy

Wondering if anyone has had established benefit from Prostate Massage Therapy. My husband has BPH of moderate nature and his PSAs are normal. Married 38 years, after a period of inactivity due to very painful hip problems, I finally am back in the saddle again, ready to re-kindle a very active sex life like we're 20 again. However, husband can't hold an erection hard enough for penetration. He has not ejaculated in a year or so, he says. 😉I am a medical professional but not in the male urological area. I read much about Prostate Massage Therapy. It is not widely talked about. The aim is the express prostate fluid separate from ejaculation fluid - in order to relieve congestion of the prostate, clear out crystals that may be blocking canals, any build up of minerals and other matter. I am developing a method of Prostate Massage Therapy for my man, which will be mutually beneficial. According to Harvard research, this is scientifically proven to be beneficial. Has anyone followed prostate massage therapy protocols and had success in expressing the seminal fluid followed by successful ejaculation this way?

It sounds as if his difficulties were news to you. It seems you had been totally neglecting his needs due to your hip problems.

Being practically bedbound and on morphine for almost two years kind of killed it for both of us. You know what I mean? 😉

Why did your hip problem/replacement take so long to be done?

4 university-trained, well-known orthopedists failed to diagnose the problem. 1 in 30 cases only appear as KNEE PAIN ONLY. The 5th opinion = BINGO!

I had perthes disease of my left hip as a child. My mother was told that I'd be crippled with arthritis by the time I was 35 as the consultant himself was.
I'll be 85 soon and get mixed messages about my hip. It only troubles me slightly a few times a year. One said it looks terrible on the X-Rays but your movements and walking are all right. Another said if I did a hip replacement you would come back and tell me it has not helped the occasional pain and stiffness you get.
Now though a different problem prevents me from walking. I was prescribed Cipro and Fluoroquinolones for prostate infections three times and although each time I stopped them within about three days due to tendonitis I ended up with Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome. Of course that cannot be proved.

I ended up with ED after a botched Greenlight procedure for BPH left me extremely incontinent for two years. I found a new specialist who was able to clear up the scar tissue in in the area of the external sphincter, and then implant an artificial sphincter to control the leaking. Then, I found that I had ED, after being unable to consider sex for over two years. I tried Cialis with no good effect. Finally, when I went in for a routine check up, I had a discussion with his fellow about options. She prescribed Trimix, which is injected into the penis before sex.You are instructed to gradually increase the dosage until you determine the appropriate amount to inject. It works well for me creating the ability to have a good erection. You have to be careful to not go beyond the appropriate dosage, or you can end up with priapism.I've seen recommendations to keep pseudoephedrine HCL tablets on hand in case of priapism, and to take a couple if the erection hasn't gone down after a couple of hours. If it lasts beyond 4 hours, it's off to the ER.

Thanks for your reply!
He was on androgel in the past, as well as prescribed viagra, but that was more because he wanted sex on demand readiness. He was able to perform without all that long after that. I'm going to clinically check the current status of his erections and abilities, but he still is not willing. He's embarrassed I think. That's not a problem for me. We've gotten through much worse in our lives, so this is just the cream on the cake, if it is meant to be. HOWEVER, he DID look into a bag of goodies I've been creating to set the mood and assist in the process. So, he is curious. Today's delivery should be the penis pump, c-rings, remote vibrating anal beads (small) and a nice remote toy for me - which he can control. I won't try the prostate massage until I know he can at least ejaculate.
Looking forward to the challenge!

Your man must be at least 58. You can't expect him to perform like a 20 yr old. Many factors feed into a man not performing so well as he gets older.
Viagra should help with erections; can't comment re ejaculation but many on this forum end up with RE anyway. Why is it important to you?

He doesn't have to perform AT ALL. 😉 Trust me, I am a medical professional. "Let's explore and come to our own decisions" is all I'm getting at. I'll be calm and gentle and I'll do everything needed. Just relax and let me. He hasn't even agreed yet, and that is frustrating to me. At least give it a chance and let's close this chapter in our lives. He did look at the goodie bag I started and made a couple of comments. Today's shipment MAY be the deciding factor.
Let's hope!

Well, having some success! This morning, after explaining everything to him and showing him some items, he agreed to try. He was able to have a hooks prostate ejaculation, though he did not feel it. I massaged his perineum, just under the scrotum and pressed as the firmness grew. We had to stop because we had appointments, so we will continue later. He did report a clot of mucus come out, followed by a full stream of urine, which he is shocked. He said it was the first time in three years.
Let's hope!

Afternoon session 100% success. He was able to release a good amount of prostate fluid again, then followed by full seminal ejaculation. He urinated again afterwards and again felt a strong stream of urine flow.
Thank you everyone for your words of advice and encouragement.
I'm planning to do this twice a day, then once a day and see how it goes. I want him to eventually respond naturally, which may occur with regulation.

One day of inactivity..... back to the difficulty starting a stream and weak stream.
So, we'll have to start from the beginning again.
He needs to understand a regular schedule may be more beneficial in the long run. He felt funny that a clinical treatment may or may not cause sexual arousal.
Our very existence is based on reproduction. Men have a more complex issue because of a basic need to urinate is entwined with sexual arousal. Women do get the same feelings, but practically speaking, men are certainly more visibly demonstrative. Then again, some men report becoming aroused when they have a full bladder.

As the old saying used to go ( regarding women's anatomy) snack bar right next to the $h*t hole 😃

If by aroused, you mean an erection, there are prosaic terms for that, such as "morning wood," and others that are more to the point, such as "pi$$ hard." That's certainly been the case for me as long as I can remember. Getting the bladder empty in the morning always takes precedence over any notion of having sex.
