    Hi,

As mentioned before I have been suffering with one sided breast pain. I saw my doc again today and she seemed concerned because the pain radiates across my rib where there are no glands and there are no visible lumps. She has referred me to the breast clinic......my appointment will be in the next 2 weeks!.......scary!

On another note she recommended Starflower Oil instead of Evening Primrose Oil for breast pain.

Have the same problems but Doctor didn't seem worried said it was a mix of acid reflux and gas that causes the pain I started the primrose today in hopes to feeling better

I also suffer with acid reflux for which I am taking Omeprazole. The pain is similar so I wouldn't rule it out .....although my breast is very tender to touch and extremely heavy.

Misty, it is very interesting that you said this, because there is several "schools" about mammograms. On one hand they can detect lumps, cysts, cancer early, but there is also the school that too many can cause a lot of radiation.  Here is what my mom did, now I will say this, my mom is a very fearful person and I am not recommending it, but about 25 years ago she had a mammogram and it was extremely painful. She has never went back and done self-exams. She said that she will only return if she feels a lump. I am not recommending that. But, she took a risk, knowing her, at her age now, she probably would use iodine and homeopathic now because she is very anti-medical establishment and she is 74. I am going to therapy now to deal with my anxiety about testing of any types, I have decided to deal with the anxiety first and address the rest later.

With all these symptoms anyone have vertigo or feeling of lightheaded drives me crazy as for mammo my GYN says many lumps are calcium which when told by your doctor you have a lump we panic and think the worst when really we need to relax and worry when the time comes

Hi Misty, YES I have vertigo and its very scary. I found out that vertigo is often "treated" by drinking more water. I wonder if its hereditary, my grandmother who is 101, has significant vertigo and has had it for a long time.  Her doctor told her its from not drinking enough water and to much caffeine.

You are right lennie, mammograms are worrying... My sister in law had the all clear then found a lump 3 months later and it was breast cancer. She always says don't take them for granted as there are only certain cancers hey can detect. Self examination is paramount.

I had mine 2 and a half years ago and I am dealing with stress and anxiety about getting the next one. I am addressing this with therapy because I can't handle it right now. My former doctor told me that traditional mammograms miss a lot, he said the MRI or the ultrasound is the best but insurance companies won't pay. My stress level is somewhat irrational and here is why, I have never had an abnormal one and there is no family history. So, why am in fear and dread, mainly the news, tv, hearing about it ALL the time has sent me into freak out mode. I will deal with it somehow, I love my mother and I get her issues sometimes but I also do not want to be ruled by fear. She is ruled by fear of hearing bad news, so how she avoids it is just no testing for anything other than little minor issues like blood pressure.

Not saying blood pressure is a little thing, but she gets that done and eye exams but anything that could be considered fatal or requires serious treatment she wont do it.

Wow, its amazing that SHE found the lump. I totally agree about self-examination. Is your sister in law OK. My former boss found her lump too, she got chemo and was cancer free for 20 years but its now back in her lungs stage 4 and they said she actually got the lung cancer from the chemo. This is the kind of crap that keeps me up at night.

Yes Misty, she found the lump and had chemo and radio and is absolutely fine now 3 years on. I agree that the media make things worse. All you hear about is cancer and heart disease....you sit in the doctors and it's all over the walls. Nowadays, it seems there is no life without the threat of serious disease hanging over us like the grim reaper! No happy news articles, doom and gloom everywhere! Is it just me but I feel the joy has gone out of life and all of the symptoms we experience at this time of life just adds to the misery! I used to look forward to things and had a smile for everyone....what the heck happened 🙁

I agree a hundred percent about the bad news everywhere, my therapist and I were discussing this and she said its easy NOT to become freaked out when as you said serious disease is hanging over us everywhere.

Hi Ladies, I believe iodine was addressed but I read today on a site today that it works. Because iodine was removed from salt, and even if you use salt with iodine today it is not very good  Most women dealing with this have an iodine deficiency. Women discussed all sorts of breast issues and iodine and selenium were very effective, I don't want to get shut down so I won't name any brands.  I bought some pure iodine today and did the one that has all 3 forms of iodine with the selenium apparently it is not an "overnight fix" but if you go on websites that address this issue you can read a great deal more about it.
