Breath smells like faeces (Poo)

Posted , 379 users are following.

I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

One thing I have managed to determine is that just because you have a taste in your mouth that may seem unpleasant, that does not necessarily translate into bad breath! I guess we are all a bit paranoid and assume the worst, whereas it's likely things aren't quite as bad as we imagine.

      Hey Paul!

I think your right. There have been times where I have a bad taste in my mouth but my sister has said that my breath doesn't smell (she sometimes will tell me it does).

But still, as I suffer from this condition I just never know! It's quite annoying actually because I am very social. I recently started seeing someone who I am with all the time, I am trying to find the confidence to tell him about this condition so that he can let me know when my breath is smelling.

Good luck with your new relationship! When you do finally have your chat, make sure that you stress the importance of frankness. It does nobody any good to be told that all is well, if it blatantly isn't. Plus, it will allow you to truly relax when you are with your partner, knowing that there is no issue at the present time.  You may also find patterns of behaviour, that allow you to narrow down your particular issue.

My husband has this problem. I notice it's worse when he has not eaten for a while. I know it's not a mouth issue because it's coming from his gut. He's overweight, allergic to dairy and gluten, has digestive issues, is constipated often, and has asthma. Yes, he's a mess. I'm going to talk to him about the sauerkraut. I think it may be the answer. His brother started a sauerkraut diet years ago and it made him lose weight.

I believe it's the digestive system too. But every person is different by reading all these posts. My breathe do give foul odor when I'm hungry.

I stop eating meat products, dairy and nuts.

They give my extreme foul smell through my mouth that people notice.

so far, people haven't cover there nose or say who fart since I change my eating.

hope this will helps your husband.

Hello, My Gastro.. believes I have food stuck in my stomach and ferments and takes too long to digest and that's what I breath out. I had endoscopy and showed stomach ulcers, chronic gastritis, hiatus hernia and I have a parumbilical hernia. He is doing colonoscopy next.

One more thing: NO EVERY BODY HAS THE SAME SENSE OF SMELL. some smell more/stronger than others. I've noticed that. Also, my friend's dog smells his butt when I talk to the dog. the dog things its him, lol but I know fromt he dog that he smells poo and sniffs self.  I will figure this out but everyone eat healthy and find a doctor willing to do the PROPER tests!!

I am definitely not a doctor or nutritionist but I am going through the same thing and I feel this pain, it's horrible. Our first instinct is to blame our teeth and gums but it's not always that (my dentist loves my teeth!). After lots of umming and arring I went to my doctor. Turns out I have other "symptoms" that I'd had forever and thought they were just life. The doctor spoke about IBS and that's what we're checking for now. If not I'll look into fructose malabsorption.

As embarrassing as it it just go and see your doctor. There may be something going on in your gut that you need to address. All the best...

Bro. you shoud a test of "Compelete Blood Test" , if you can effort this. This will tell you that the amount of vitamins, minerels and such other particles of blood are accurate in quantity, according to a normal healthy man. After that you shoul also "Urinalysis" that will tell abvout you Kidney and Liver health. If one thing in test is not in accurate quantity, than that is your cause of BB.

ok so here is what worked for me. i went to my doctor who checked inside my belly button. he noticed that there an infection deep inside the belly button. he cleaned it out and gave my antibodics. ... walla 30 years of bad breath and now its gone. he explained that i may not even noticed the infection because it was so deep inside the belly button hole (like an inch and a half innward) he said its not uncommon for infections to devlop in that area. however, when he cleaned it out there was puss build up and a whole bunch of junk. no wonder all lf

     that terrible smelling bad breath.

There are some wind-up merchants on here posting ridiculous comments,  using a number of different aliases. So don't believe everything you read! Some people have nothing better to do, sadly.
