Breath smells like faeces (Poo)

I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

I limit my coffee to half a cup a day, cut down on chocolates, pastries, avoid deep fried food, less pork, drink fruit-infused water (e.g. lemon, cucumber, spearmint/peppermint) everyday, munch on green apples, and lastly portion eating the whole day. These helps me. It's really an effort.

It seems the common factor here is: acid reflux, sinus issues and tonsil stones. Is this the deadly three combination which doctors just don't know how to cure? / don't realise how much it actually affects our day to day life. I'm not hopefully anytime soon.

Not for me. I don't have any of these conditions. Unless I have acid reflux with no symptoms? Is that possible?

It might be the adenoids go to your Gp and tell him u want it removed he might say that you don’t need or you don’t have it don’t listen to him ask him to refer you to the hospital so you can get the surgery done Or go to a private clinic

In an effort to find the source of all this nightmare.  I bought the wrong floss the other day and I caught a weird scent like poop and I smelled the floss and it smelled bad like my breath.

Silvia, do you have big gaps between your teeth? Bleeding gum when brushing? I used to have the above symptoms plus smelly floss.  Went through costly gum surgery and gum grafting.  Smelly floss went away after surgery but still have bb ;(

Yes I have gaps between my teeth. Bleeding gums happen occassionaly along with redness and  swollen gums. Sometimes irritation.

It's been awhile for me on posting.

So far I have learned to kinda manage my poop breath smell. I know if I eat certain things it will trigger the rotton or poop breath smell. How do i know? I would eat the food i think would trigger and wait for the kids to mention the type of smells or just wait for the blaming each other lol.

Food I ate causes smell mention by kids or girlfriend:

    Steak: foul smell like rotton

Almost all type of nuts: doodoo smell, who forgot to wipe their ass, searching for poop on floor or check bottom of shoes

Beer/alcohol/ meats/ almost all dairy products: who farted.

All Process meat products: something died in here

Have not found a cure. But little control. I take deep breaths and release it out in between couple hours. I squeeze lime or lemon to my water with my meal. I think it help a lot with the smell. I have seen less gesture from people.

Hope this help some of you guys. I know everyone is different.

I just can not stop reading up on the issue. I'm positive treating this acid reflux won't work. I'm starting to think it could be be bacteria overgrowth however reading on this topic it seems it's not see easy to treat and seems a long and strict process.

Does anyone else think this may be the case for us with good oral hygiene

I definitely think that it is an overgrowth of bacteria! Just don’t know how to get rid of it. I have tried oralbiotics but that didn’t help, tea tree oil, apple cider vingegar, hydrogen peroxide and chlorophyll (all anti-bacterial), also hasn’t worked :-(

I think in our case it would have to be a total detox of the diet elimating everything which can feed candidiasis.  Which could mean strict dieting for a weeks or months?

The only way we would know it's not that would be doing it I suppose and ticking it off the list.

That is sooo hard to do!!!! And sometimes eating things like sweets makes my breath smells but better. When I drink water and eat veg all day my mouth doesn’t smell nice because there isn’t a flavour that masks my bad breath

I have two colonoscopy with two different doctor many years ago and never mentioned bacteria growth. Have poop test and nothing. Dentist is also good.

My thought is maybe our body is missing a key factor in the upper digest creating fart smell (sulphur) and we breath out through the mounth.

Research baking soda and lime or lemon benefits. I use those daily and reduce people asking foul smell.

Did you do the floss test? Floss between your teeth and then smell it and see what you can figure out from there.

That's strange as that also happens to me. It almost masks it. However, I think we are doing it more damage as that's what it feeds off it may be worth following a very strict diet for try a week or 2 weeks at first eliminating all sugars and grains - it may work with persistence
