i am so confused my doctors say they dont know what is wrong so now just say oh you have chronic pain we think. but i dont understand why when i had my MRI why they said they thought i should be having a brain scan can anybody help me with this or give me any advise? i am so stressed out with all this i know something is not right i know my know body but its as if know body wants to find out know that they have put down that it maybe chronic paini would be so greatful if someone could explain

I have been dealing with entire left side pain for the past 4 years. My story goes like this:
I was a perfectly healthy male aged 30. One day I started having sharp stabbing pains in my left arm, left leg, both had tingling and the left side of my face started going tingly along with symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. Every problem I was having seemed to come out of nowhere. One day I was healthy and the next day I was falling apart.
I had every test imaginable including MRIs endoscopy, colonoscopy etc etc and everyone kept shrugging it off to stress/anxiety but I knew that this could not be it as Im not that type of person.
I recently went to the hospital after having severe left arm pain thinking I was having a heart attack and they ran bloodwork on me. My results came back normal (like every time I went for any testing) except for one thing. My Vitamin B12 was 234pg/mL which is on the lower end of the range. I googled what low vitamin B12 can do to your body and I couldnt believe it. I have been going through hell thinking I was losing my mind or dying all because of a stupid vitamin.
I went to the drugstore the same day and I bought sublingual methylcobalam B12 tablets. The entire left sided body pain I thought I would have to live with for the rest of my life went away after 4-5 days and it only cost me $15 bucks. Its been about a week or so since I have been taking it and I couldnt feel any better.
I hope this is what is causing your pain as well and I hope that I can at least help someone else dealing with this same problem.
Good luck.

I felt I should post this for anyone who may be suffering from the same and can not get a correct diagnosis. I especially find this comment to be spot on for me..
"As you can see, the pec minor can cause significant problems for the shoulder joint, neck and upper limb in particular. I could go on to talk about the effect that pec minor can have on the lower back and pelvis as a result of compensations occurring throughout the kinetic chain, but we'll save that for another day."
Anyhow, I hope this helps someone...

I get flare ups to where the pain is all over the left side during the oms stage. Otherwise, the pain is almost constant in my jaw and shoulder. I've had MRIs, cat scans, x rays, etc, and nothing has come of it.
Good luck to you who have this mystery illness. It has changed my life in the sense that I can't do much physically, wither for leisure or work.
Here's one thing that's interesting. My tsh level was too high. My doctor increased my dose of levothyroxine and I went pain free for 9 days. But it returned after. Maybe there definitely is some sort of hormonal connection!

I had spinal fusion (C4-6) one year ago and I am just now coming out of the after-affects. The only thing that helps is a LOT of physical therapy, regaining strength in your neck and shoulder muscles, learning how to sleep in a good position, and how to re-train those muscles. It's a long road but it IS possible.
