Anyone with Chronic Prostatitis ever had a turp done. I did, but it was only one of a number of other factors I was having down there?

Yes, twice. It didn't help me at all. When you have it, chances are very  nill that you'll ever be able to ejaculate again.

I wish i never had it done.

I'd like to hear your story, too. patindaytona.  We all need a little compassion ?

All i can tell you is that it didn't help me at all. The Dr. said it would.

But it's the lack of being able to ejaculate is what i regret. You can orgasm, sure, but not ejaculate...kind of backfires inside you. It's actually kind of irritating because it's certainly not the "same". And never will be once you have it done.

I remember walking around feeling a bulge from an infected prostate. I was scared. Right then it seemed like the only answer. I wish I had my Old body back.

I had the Turp operation four months ago and for me the oucome was pretty good. However, I had hoped that I would be one of the lucky ones that could still ejaculate after the op but unfortunately am not. I suffer from ED so do not get a good erection when aroused but I have noticed that when I am aroused and often spontaneously on waking up there is quite a large amount of fluid leaking from my penis which I find quite puzzling. Is this seminal fluid but minus any sperm or what? Should I be concerned?

Fluid leaking during arousal is perfectly normal. It may also be there when you awaken if you are having a sexy dream, which, unfortunately, you may not remember. All that is OK.

If you are troubled by your erection difficulty, private message me and we can discuss it further.

Do you think problems can be caused by not being able to ejaculate therefore fluid maybe infected is trapped in your body ?.

I have often thought about this, STM; but what can we do about it now. Better to focus on more positive things and hope the future sheds some light on this for us !!!

I don't think being able to ejaculate has anything to do with that. If you could ejaculate normally, there still would be enough fluid left to cause another infection. What is needed is a mechanism whereby your body is able to kill all of the infection, either through natural resistance, or that combined with the correct antibiotic properly delivered.

Hi Steve, Not having a good couple of days at all with terrible Prostate pain, painful now when passing urine which is stinking. My bones are aching making it sore to walk or bend. Doctor says I have another bad infection and has put me on Pivamicillin again and drink plenty of water. Consultant does not appear to have done anything promised 3 weeks ago, re Pain Clinic, Physio or writing to my Doctor. My Doctor does not appear to have sent a referral for a second opinion so I feel really down. District Nurse is not at all happy with this and says somebody should do something so I spent the day on the phone to secretaries and answering machines. Enough of me, how are things for you, any improvements.

No, I have the same symptoms as you, STM. Please keep up drinking plenty of water. It may not help you, but it is good for your system. I don't know if antibiotics will help you or not. I was on them for many years and all that they did was help destroy my system. Is the prostatitis bacterial or non- bacterial???

I pray for you, my friend. I would try more natural substances if you can and try to eat a healthy diet. No red meats. Plenty of chicken, fish, fruits and vegatables, nuts, cranberries, green tea, ect, ect. Be careful with antibiotics. I don't think they really help in the fighting of this disease. Chronic non-bacterial prostatitis is Terrible. We have both had turps, so I think we can identify with each other.

I am starting pelvic physical therapy tomorrow on my Drs. orders. and am going ahead one step at a time. I have tremendous faith in my Dr. and know that he will do all in his power to help me rid myself of this terrible disease. Next step after that May be taking the kidney stones out and we will see where we go from there. But I will keep fighting on.

Again, STM: be careful of the antibiotics. I don't think they will help in the fighting of this disease. I would switch urologists if you do not think this particular Dr. is helping you. From what you have told me, it doesn't appear this particular Dr. cares.

District Nurse has told me to drink even though it hurts passing water as it will get better. Managed to get hospital secy today who says letters of 3 weeks ago have been done but waiting Consultants signature !. Doctor has done referral after 1 week. Might be getting somewhere, just no urgency anywhere.  Beginning to think A/B's are not working, but at this stage I just want something to get rid of pain so happy to try anything. Be interested to learn what pelvic physical therapy is ? Nobody has classified my Prostititis as Consultant says I have it and my Doctor not sure.
