I have a lot of the symptoms people have been describing on here. I remember somebody here (could have been another forum, because I could not find their post) bringing up sensormotor OCD. If it was this forum where that person brought this up, can you please get in touch with me? Also I think everyone here should look into sensormotor OCD as I believe there is a good chance this is the cause for the problem we have been having. This constant urge to pee feeling is still quite new to me (compared to some of the people on here) - about 1 month. I found distracting myself by watching TV can reduce the urge quite a bit and just in general not worrying about it (I know easier said then done). I don't have much else to say, aside from that so far. I will try to remember to report back on here if I find any new ways to reduce the urge. Good luck to everyone here.

      hi Johnsmith,

I am suffering from severe OCD (mainly health and contamination and checking OCD) and recently, it has gotten worse, as in my anxiety and depression have worsen. I am currently experiencing the same constant urge to pee at the tip of my penis. Usually I can reduce the urge quite a bit by distracting my attention to other things, like you, too. I also have occasional perineum pain, just mild and it comes and go.

How are you currently doing and feeling? Do you feel this urge every day? and what other things can you do to reduce the urge? are you a chronic sufferer of OCD too?

hope to hear from you soon. i am at my wits ends now. if you dont mind, can I contact you personally, for eg, via email? thanks and regards.

Anyone have success using Tamsulosin (Flomax) to treat this? Just started 5 days ago and side effects are strange. Retrograde ejaculation is really weird, plus increased heart rate.

      Hey Buddy

You need to ask your doctor for something else. One that will not give you retro. There are some

I was on Flomax for 1 week. I said no way. It took away my orgasm and my ejaculation. I was not going to live like that I was 58 at the time.

      God bless....Ken

Im so relieved to find this support group. Reading all these replies and symptoms is like the everyday struggle I've been also dealing with for almost 5 months now. Symptoms came on suddenly and although I was masturbating every day and having intercourse with my wife(Not as much) Never any pain or burning. I did have some premature ejaculation going on and was trying to do the edging technique. My ejaculate I did notice wasn't as strong leading up to the start date of pain.

So had sudden onset of burning pain in the tip of my penis and to mid way down the right side and thought it was a UTI, Went to my urologist who started me on Bactrim x 2 weeks. That only helped minimally so was put on Tamsulosin(Flomax) x 2 weeks. Agree, the retrograde ejaculation was weird but stayed with it for 2 weeks but pain was still there. Urologist put me on Doxycyline for 2 weeks and had minimal success with pain relief like the other meds for maybe 5 days and then right back to square 1. At this point he sent me for a kidney, bladder and prostate ultrasound which all came back with normal results. The next step he said was to do a cystoscopy since he was running out of ideas. I agreed to it but he didn't give enough time for numbing gel to work and i told him to stop after he got maybe half way in. He did tell me he didn't see a stricture which was a relief. He decided to put me on Ciproflaxin for 1 month! I agreed since was getting nowhere. Cipro worked for a longer time than the other meds but after a couple of weeks i could feel symptoms returning slowly.

All this time and I too have that feeling that there's either something stuck in the tip of my penis and have this wet feeling almost like excessive ball sweat or swamp ass or that I still have a few drops of urine that need to be shaken out. I do have some drippage after urinating, even if shake for a good while after peeing. I actually feel ok after peeing and shaking off but like 5 minutes after I get that same feeling in the tip and when i check there is still some dripping. When i do exercises or busy running around doing stuff the pain doesnt seem to be there but it returns almost every time after I urinate.

So the Urologist said he thought that I have weak pelvic floor muscles and he sent me for physical therapy.

BTW, Im 49 and in pretty decent shape. Im not overweight, I routinely do planks and pushups and constantly on the move with my teenagers and help practice with their sports. I've been seeing a PT that specializes in pelvic floor issues and he has me doing some kegel exercises and he does biofeedback on me which is a rectal insert that localizes the muscles of you pelvic floor and tells you how well you are using them or not so they can adjust your exercise plan. Only been going about a month or so and Im still 50/50 if its actually helping.

I have a 2nd opinion with another urologist next month to get his take on this whole awful experience. My original urologist never did a digital rectal exam or PSA test which I found odd. Not even advanced imaging like MRI or CT. I am going push for this on my 2nd opinion.

My wife has been very understanding through this time too. Been very standoffish on having sex, even masturbating. When I do masturbate its great but after I ejaculate i do have more semen that leaks out even 10-15 minutes later.

This is actually helping a lot writing down my story and struggle. I'm sorry that any of you are struggling too. Please let me know if I can answer any questions and I will also look for any advice from the group. Hoping that a mixture of time and the right exercises or_____ will finally be the answer.

please keep us posted. i have been going through same thing for 2 years now. i was perfectly fit till the day it started, actually best shape of my life, 42 years old. i still am fit and everything, exercise daily, but these symptoms really wear me out. i currently am on cypro, i was trying to avoid it for 2 years, afraid of side effects but i finally gave up, i was desperate so i started the course. 1 week in, no realief so far. tried bunch of other medications before as you, bactrimk, oxybutinin, flomax, alfuzosin. i keep thinking about pelvic therapy, probably what i go for after my course of cypro, i have a feeling it is not going to help.

are your symptoms present all the time? thats how mine are, even though once in a while they just gone for a few hours or until i pee again

Wow 2 years! Hope you are able to get permanent relief as well as everyone in this entire group. Yes, its weird and almost the same, my symptoms are there like 2 minutes after I pee and then i get some post void dripping(Which I never used to get) and then it just feels like I'm wet even though my underwear is dry. It feels like there is like a drop or 2 of urine stuck like right below the tip of my penis than I cant shake out. The pain/discomfort does go away, but like you, it comes back after I pee again. I try to stay very hydrated and at times I feel like I have to pee more often but not sure if thats due to my water intake or nerves over this whole thing. It doesn't affect my sleeping and usually I don't have symptoms when I pee right after I get up in the a.m.

Its like from the 2nd time on and then through the day.

So I took Cipro for 4 weeks with a little relief for like the first 4-5 days and just like all the other meds I took, symptoms came right back. I stayed on the Cipro for the entire course thinking that maybe I just need to muscle through it. I actually just went back on Flomax a few days ago since I have a few more refills. I originally only took it for 1 week but didn't like the stuffy nose and headache that I got plus the weird ejaculations made me stop taking it.

I really don't like the pelvic therapy at all and the biofeedback/rectal insert exercises I feel doesn't help at all. I haven't given it too much of a consistent try though.

I have a second opinion with a urologist in the group I go to at the end of this month. I really feel like this is a prostate issue. Not that I'm looking forward to having a digital rectal exam or PSA test, but the urologist that I saw for the last 4 months never did any of those tests, he just put me on all these meds. They will have to knock me out If I have to have another cystoscopy since my last one was so painful and they had to stop not even halfway through.

hi guys, these symptoms sound so familiar, ive felt the same for the past three months or so. Basically constantly needed to pee with very little coming out when i do and with a constant feeling at the end / head of my penis with needing to pee.

After all UTI / blood tests were clear I was referred to a urologist who did an upper urinary tract ultrasound and urine flow test. The result of this was that I was retaining urine due to detrusor bladder neck dyssynergia which is an issue with muscles at the bladder neck which means i can't empty my bladder fully. For this i was prescribed Tamsulosin (Flomax) however this has made little or no difference. In fact i felt this made the feeling of needing to go worse.

The worst part of it all is the feeling of needing to go at night when lying in bed. I can hardly get to sleep on my own and have required sleeping medication regularly.

Wow! I mean at least they found something on the tests though. I'm on day 3 of Flomax again. First time around I only took it for about 2 weeks and then quit. I've mostly only had pain and discomfort but now I have this post urination dribbling urine component which has me even more unhappy. ts only a drop or 2 but still. More times than not I feel like I have to pee. So crazy how this came on out of nowhere. Started with like this sharp twinge and really thought I had a UTI........guess not. Really hope you get some relief. Keep in touch.

Wanted to post an update, hopefully this helps others. I have been treating my problem as pelvic floor disfunction, and have been getting some good results. Each say I spend around 40 mins doing pelvic stretches and reverse kegal exercises to open up and stretch my pelvic floor.

As my symptoms started due to excessive masturbation and edging I think I have have strained my pelvic floor muscles.

Anyway this has gave me quite a bit of relief. I no longer have constant urges to pee and the feeling of urine stuck in my penis has subsided quite a bit.

Symptoms that still seems to occur:

    Softer erections.

I cant really stay hard without constant stimulation .

When im hard and go soft.. or I ejeculate my penis feels sore/ stained after.

Sex/ masturbation makes everything a lot worse !

Also I work out quite a bit and have noticed abs exercises makes everything worse.

that's great news you are getting some relief. can you tell me exactly what exercises you are doing?

My PT gave me some stretching exercises to do but not seeing any results yet and I sometimes feel the kegel exercises make it worse. Thanks!

    • Edited

Youtube has a lot of videos with male pelvic stretches. If you have tight pelvic floor muscles kegals will most definitely make this worse. Try (reverse kegal) exercises designed to open and relax the pelvic floor not contract it.

    • Posted

Yeah I've been all over Youtube looking at pelvic floor stretches and tried a lot of them....always looking for new ones to do. Thats interesting about kegels making it worse. My PT gave me kegel exercises to do and I do get some relief but not to the degree of what I was expecting. Trying to stay with and give it a longer try. Ive seen those reverse kegel exercises but havent tried them yet, gonna check that out.

Overall, Ive been doing a lot more stretching and trying to stay on top of doing it.

I've always considered myself to be in pretty good shape but gotta say these last 5 months have really messed with me me dealing with this physically and emotionally too.

    Hi Guys,

Firstly I can't believe i found a group of men who have this issue that no doctor seems to be able to treat.

I have had this issue for 2 years and tried absolutely everything here. I've done all Tests prostate, blood etc,... and even had a cystoscopy and it was all clear. Where it is now getting better is through Physiotherapy and mobilising/Strengthening my hips. I have inflamed ligaments in my Adductors/hips where the Pudendal/Perineal nerve flows through. The result is compressed nerves which results in me having this ungodly mind numbing penis condition. The compressed nerves are what make the sensation and being able to strengthen the muscles around it have greatly improved my quality of life.

Google Herman Wallace Dysfunction in Glans Penis. this explains what im talking about.

Anyway my Symptoms are on the Mend and it came down to Ligaments and Compressed Nerves.

What do you mean your symptoms are on the mend??? How are you feeling exactly right now? Throughout the day, where do you feel the urge to pee? Base of penis? Or is now by the pubic area / stomach?

Are you 100%? How long did it take you to get better?

How do you know you have inflamation? If you have inflamation, are you taking medication for this?

      Let me know please!!!!!!!
