Hi guys my doctor prescribed me ciprofloxacin, and it has helped a lot. I sometimes get slight feeling of trapped urine but it only will last a few seconds, nowhere near the extent as before. I also don't feel the urge to urinate as often... overall everything feels so much better.

Over the last few weeks my symptoms had pretty much disappeared. I was still getting g the feeling to need to pee but nowhere near as bad as I was.... Then at the start of this week the symptoms came back full force and now feel like im needing all the time. When I'm.sitting at times it feels like iv wet myself but when I go to the bathroom I'm dry. Iv noticed i have urine sitting in the tip of the urethra and I think this is the problem. I dab dry after peeing this somethings helps.

now I don't know what to do. Back at square one. Not sure how much more of this I can take

Could this have anything to do with IBS any thoughts? I am also dealing with the same symptoms of constantly having the urge to pee and irritation in penis.

Hi everyone! Greetings from Costa Rica. I'm a 21 year old and I've been having this problem for over two months now. For me it all started one night when I had this sensation of urine trapped in the tip of my penis. I went to the hospital the next day and urinalysis showed a UTI, which was kinda weird since I had no pain or blood, but I trusted the doctor and took some antibiotics for a week or so. Instead of getting better I realized that not only was I having the same discomfort at the tip of my penis, but I was going to pee a lot more. Went back to the hospital 4 more times with no relief at all, and they told me they had no idea on what was going on with me. I went to this well-known urologist in my country, who did an US, and said everything was alright, but that I had clear signs of prostatitis. He prescribed me levofloxacin (antibiotic), a bladder relief med and celecoxib. I felt better the next day, but on day 2 symptoms came back full force. Waited a month or so and went to see another urologist who did a Digital Rectal Exam and found my prostate to be ok. I explained her my symptoms, that are a kind of urgency that does not come from my bladder, but from my penis, a "frequency" but it is not like I have to rush to the bathroom every hour, it feels like I constantly need to pee to relief the feeling, which gets worse as my bladder fills up. It feels like I had already started peeing, and also like my penis is constantly pushing pee out, and I have to be holding it strong so it does not come out. Went to see a psychiatrist because of other several problems I am facing right now, and told him about my situation. He immediately started asking more questions and diagnosed me with sensorimotor OCD. He prescribed me some anti OCD drugs that have not helped much, but I have definitely found out that as long as I do not think about it, it gets better, but it has been difficult not to overthink about it since it is there ALL THE TIME. I have better days than other, but I do not remember what it felt like to have a "normal urge to pee" I guess. Currently I am waiting for some results from a urine culture and a sperm culture, and if that's not the source of my problem my urologist talked about a urethral swab for a possible urethritis, and if that comes back negative, she's gonna do urodynamics to test for overactive bladder, and then she thinks the problem could be on "urachus remnant", that is causing repeated infections and was seen on another US, but she says it is not likely the reason of my problems. What I have read so far makes me believe that the source of our problems could be tree: the OCD my psychiatrist talked about along with anxiety, prostate issues or pelvic floor dysfunction. I am pretty sure all of us who are still going through this are gonna make it, most of the people here stopped posting cause as soon as they felt better they tried to avoid remembering the nightmare that this is. I think that the way to go is to rule out everything and if nothing is found, go see a pelvic floor PT, as it's helped a lot of people in this discussion and other ones. Hope we all get better soon!

Couldn't agree more with what you said. I'm currently on a waiting list to get CBT therapy. I was given some OCD medication to take whilst I wait (but they have no effect). I think I have overcome the fear of wetting myself (I used to constantly check, but it always dry or just one drop). Now I just have to overcome the constant urge to pee (and that feeling of trapped pee at the tip of the penis). I have been trying to reduce the amount of times I go to the toilet. I noticed I used to go a lot when I did not necessarily have to. For example, just before leaving the house, or just before showering. The difficult part for me is trying to work out when I need to 'really' pee as opposed to when its the OCD kicking in. Also I don't like visiting this forum because it just reminds me of my situation and brings it more to my conscious thought, but I will still try to check in every week or so. There is more I wanted to say but I will leave it at that for now.

      Hey Buddy

The first thing you have to do is forget about it and get it out of your head. You worry to much.

I have days like that. There are days that I'm fine but there are day's that I have to go 3 or 4 times with in a hour. I find it hard sometime when I'm going out. I will pee and then get dressed and pee again and before I walk out the door I have to try again and nothing happens.

I do not know how old you are but I'm 65. I have notice that I have dripping because by the end of the day my pants smell. I do not know when it happens. I have some days when I wake up and my under ware are wet a little.

I'm not going to worry about it. I just ordered male pads. I will ware them to keep dry

I'm not going to tell my doctor because I am staying away from any surgery that will give me more side effect that I do not want.

Take care and do what you have to it is your life.....Ken

Alrighty boys, after dealing with this site's horrible login system, i was finally able to log on, and join the discussion.

I'm a 19 year old male, and i've been dealing with this issue since march the 20th, 2021. As far as i remember, the issue began very suddenly, and have since then gotten better for a few days, only to come back with full force.! I will list a few things i've personally found relief in, and hope it'll help some of you.

First thing i wanna mention, is filling your bladder.!

This has worked very well, and is something i discovered after a urine stream force test.

On the day of the test i was supposed to meet up ready to urinate, but wasn't able too without going nr.2 in the sample container... after that i wad instructed to drink a lot of water, and come back an hour later, and so i did twice(finally peeing with my bladder feeling like it would burst). After the test i was scanned, and my bladder showed signs of not emptying all the way.... now the exciting part... AFTER A LONG DRIVE HOME, my bladder was filled again, and after peeing about 700-750ml of fluid in one go, the symptoms seemed to clear up about 80%.! Now weeks later, i make sure to try and really get a good amount of fluid through the pipes, and it seem to open up things down there, and it sometimes gives me 1-2 full days, of being clear of any pressure in the tip, apart from a 30 second window after peeing, where the feeling is slowly fading.

This, alongside avoiding ejaculation, seems to really help. (it's very difficult, but retain your semen for a week, and results will follow.!)

some smaller things are activities that require your focus, cause it makes you zone in, and you stop thinking. Warm showers, and physical exercise.

Try your absolute hardest not to think about it, before you develop a psychological issue as well.

Hey guys! I wanted to post an update on how I have been doing. Symptoms are still pretty similar, however, last week I went to a Pelvic Floor rehab center in my country. The dr evaluated me. It was reaaaally painful. With his fingers he put slight pressure on my pelvic floor muscles (internally) and it hurt a lot. He told me he was barely touching them and that meant that my pelvic floor muscles were extremely tight. He seemed very surprised on how tight my muscles were, so he called another doctor to have a second opinion. He listened to all my symptoms and said it was very clear that I have a pelvic floor dysfunction. One the most clear signs is the lack of sensation when ejaculating. When I asked what could have caused this dysfunction, he said there are many. One of them could have been a prostatitis that has already gone away (he said my prostate is absolutely fine), but caused damage to my pelvic floor, or I could have lifted more weight than I should and that damaged my muscles as well. He told me he has a lot of patients with this condition and that it is 100% treatable and curable. I am not saying all of us have the same condition, but I am pretty sure most of us do have some kind of pelvic floor dysfunction. That is why I advise all of you to look for a pelvic floor rehabilitation clinic, that is the best place we can go. I am currently going through a 24 session treatment, twice a week (pretty expensive gotta say) and have already gone to one session. You gotta be ready, because al treatments are internal and it is pretty uncomfortable, but I am up to doing everything I need to do to get rid of this. I have to say that the day after my first treatment I felt a little better, but the day after symptoms came back. Doctor told me I would be fine by the end of the treatment and that I wouldn't need more sessions, fingers crossed. Any question just let me know.

how do you fee now after undergoing the treatment? still have the symptoms?

Guys, this post helped me a lot, I was constantly checking this thread to seek some help, I had same symptoms for over 6 month or so, in this thread someone posted about "d-mannose" and I bought it. After taking d-mannose for about 1-2 weeks symptoms slowly went away, but side effect (bloating) was getting uncomfortable, but still everyone with this symptoms must try "d-mannose", just google it its on ebay, amazon, if you will get bloated just drink bloating pills. After time I think I'm over this symptoms 100%. I hope this post will help someone, as someone helped me, I wish you speedy recovery everyone, don't let anxiety win over you (it's also one of the triggers), everything will pass and then u will be gucci.

I have d-mannose in my drug cabinet (wifey had a uti and i bought it for her a few years back) - going to start today and see how it goes.

      Thanks for sharing!

I wanted to ask exactly what your particular symptoms were/are.

For me its the sense that there is pee in my penis, or like a dribble sitting at the end of it. But nothing is there. Basically feels like i need to pee constantly even when i dont and the penis feels full of pee when its not, lol

Mostly the sensation is at the end where the pee hole is but its hard to tell really. Basically constant sensation in my penis.

Super strange and happened after i had a bit of a "bedroom injury" where my penis got squeezed a bit too hard, lol Sorry for TMI !

      Thanks again.

Exactly same, I also had a bedroom injury haha. Yes I had felling like pee stuck in penis head, like I had to pee, but nothing was there. This symptoms were worsening at night and I was sleeping with bottle of hot water. It went away in exactly 5-6 months (at least got relief). One more thing I tried was to hold penis while peeing on a straight line (when penis isn't curved). I saw results after d-mannose I dont know if it was a lucky coincidence or not, but I dont believe such a coincidences. If you start getting side-effects from d-mannose don't drop it, just drink pills for side-effects, thats what I did. Cheers

Thanks so much for responding 😃

Sounds like were in almost the exact same boat - only difference for me is that laying down actually helps my symptoms. Weird right?

I'm at the 4 month mark now so hopefully its something that simply needs to heal.

I was honestly suspecting nerve damage for a while because I would get these weird body zaps too (felt like water drops hitting my body randomly) Really freaky stuff.

My best (uneducated) guess was maybe there's some nerve that's responsible for this "wet sensation" and it got damaged and was now misreporting. I went down this path of thought because when I experienced the "injury" I felt 3 electric shocks in my penis after ejaculating and ive had the wet sensation ever since 😦

It really sucks and can be so infuriating.

Anyway, I'm taking the d-mannose - first day i bloated like crazy and was actually in pain in my hips etc., second day not so bad, and now I'm on the 4th or 5th and seem to be fine. Really hope it helps.

      Last questions:

When would you say it started to to improve?

How long have you been symptom free?

Do you still take d-mannose or have you stopped?

You're a proper legend for responding, thanks so much btw !

Sorry for late response, couldn't log in to this website, forgot memorable word lol.

When would you say it started to to improve?

it started to improve after 2 weeks or so, after taking d-mannose, yes i also was extremally bloated, you should drink medication for that.

How long have you been symptom free?

After 5-6 month of feeling that symptoms and after taking d-mannose i feel symptom free.

Do you still take d-mannose or have you stopped?

I stopped after 2 weeks or so, maybe 3 weeks no longer than that.

You're a proper legend for responding, thanks so much btw !

I was extremely depressed because of that and I promised myself if I would recover from this I would help others also ❤️

Hope you are already feeling good.

      Hi, thanks so much!

So i took the dmannose for about 2 weeks and i did feel i was having some improvement but ultimately its didn't completely work. The dmannose i had was quite old so I'm going to buy a fresh batch and try again. what brand did you use and how regularly did you take it. I was taking it once a day, but the bottle said you can take it up to three times a day.

I will say that i feel my symptoms are a lot less. I'm not sure if I'm getting used to it or if I'm just not thinking about it as much. There does seem to be some psychological aspect to this I cant pin down.

The weird thing for me is , if i get drunk then it goes away, but i think I'm simply numbing things or something.

I'm at about the 5 months mark so maybe its just a matter of time.

I do feel very lost in all this, so if you re around and feel like checking in every now and then it would be nice knowing someone is out there that got through this.

I'll probably respond with an update in the future. Thanks so much for CARING...the world needs more people like you.. I will definitely pay it forward if i have my own success.

You mentioned having a bedroom injury, I wont ask details, but for myself it was a situation where my private's got squeezed too hard (lol) the symptoms appeared the next day and i still have them. Maybe its something that just needs to heal and it takes time.. 6 months seems to be the number i run into, but everyone seems to have a slightly different experience and couple people seem to have this for years !!!

Another strange thing that's happening is I'm getting sensations on my body, like zaps, or water splashes/drops. Did you experience anything like this? it may be anxiety but it feels like water which is similar to the penis sensation. Seems too much of a coincidence. I sometimes think the entire issue is nerve related. That maybe i damaged a nerve in my penis and now my body is confused about the sensation of wetness.

So the journey continues for me, Ill follow up if i get some relief. Thanks Again!

If you feel you have any more info on your experience id be very interested to hear it. It might help me figure things out. You've already said a lot so I'm not sure if anything is missing. But thought id ask 😃

      Hello,

Just registered so I could share what worked for me.

Exact same experience as most it would seem- symptoms came on after masturbating. Felt the constant urge to pee in the head of my penis. I can't remember why exactly I decided to try, but I was desperate after only a few hours lol so can imagine what everyone else is going through.

Anyway, what I did was run the hot water tap till the water was as hot as I could bare with my hands. I then filled a cup and put the head of my penis into the hot water for as long as I could bare the heat- probably around 10 secs.

I did this once and it worked, completely back to normal. No re-occurrence even after masturbating again- though was terrified the first few times as you can imagine lol!

Whether this will work for everyone else or not I have no idea- do let me know!

Yes most probably we damaged our urethra or something like that, I was taking dmanosse 2-3 times a day, mostly 3, thats why I was almost full time bloated, but it was worth.

What you are describing most of it is anxiety also, maybe not but listen, I googled everything about this and I found topic where guy had simillar problem asked doctor and he answered that urethral damage is hard to heal and it takes about 6 month.

Do you have curved penis which leans left or right side? I'm asking because I have it and I also tried to make penis straight when I was peeing, I dont know maybe it was nothing but you can also try.

I know what you are feeling, and it will get better time by time, I couldn't sleep because of that, but now it passed, I feel we have same symptoms, try to avoid alcohol, thats first thing you must do, it's damaging urethra over and over again. Google what you must avoid during urethral damage. I read it somewhere that urethra is taking months to heal.

Dont know about water splashes I think it must be anxiety, not sure though. Journey soon will end just don't think that it will be forever, it makes your anxiety worse, I was thinking same but here I am.

It was squeezed for me too yes, next day I was feeling same.

Last thing I was thinking was that I was washing penis not with penis friendly soap-s and not with penis friendly body washes. I changed that also and bought intimate gel for penis. You must try that one also, I read it somewhere that if soap is not penis friendly it can damage urethra. If you can't afford intimate gel yet, just wash it with water and observe how it goes.

      Thank you,

This is getting more and more informative 😃

I recently gave up coffee to see if it made an improvement and it did the first day. (I also read that coffee can irritate the urethra.)

Anyway, coffee usually make me go poop in the morning, but I realized that i didn't poo all day. when I finally went to poo at night, my symptoms came back !!

So I'm not sure if the coffee is irritating my urethra or if the coffee is stimulating a poo which brings on my symptoms? Make sense?

I was curious if you had a similar experience while experiencing symptoms after using the bathroom?

I'm going to try giving up alcohol next.

I do have faith that this is urethra damage and that it needs to heal. it sounds so similar to what you have explained. And yes i have a slight curve to my penis also. So we have a lot in common, lol

Thank you for this great response. I'm going to keep try giving up the coffee, alcohol and get a fresh batch of d-mannose and see how I go on.

Wish me luck and thanks again! You are the best 😃

Thanks, I will try this today. I've noticed hot baths get rid of my symptoms and then it slowly comes back.

Are you saying that you did this once and the sensation never returned!! That's amazing. I'm definitely going to try it

      Thanks again!

About bathroom thing, yes I had simillar situation (not often tho) but, it wasn't about coffee, I think it was from the penis getting squeezed during pooping. I think that must be the case.

It is urethral damage most likely like mine, and it does need 6 month+ to heal, you will get better by time, try cutting alcohol asap.
