45 male. 3 weeks of constant feeling of urine in head of penis - pressure. Urinating is a weak stream but get brief relief. Some hesitancy. No burn when urinating or pain anywhere else. No feeling in bladder just in the head of the penis. Going to the toilet a lot. Started after masturbating. All UTI, STI test negative. Painkiller and anti-inflammation pills don't work. Going crazy with the feeling. No previous penis trauma or surgeries. Had no meds. Dr won't give antibiotics as now infection noted.

Can't believe I found a message board basically explaining my problem. Last Wednesday I started to have to urinate every minute. Even after going, the urge never went away and I felt it in the head (or tip) of penis, accompanied by a heat/pressure feeling (not a burning during urination). I was up until 5:00 in the morning Wednesday until I could finally fall asleep for a few hours. I decided to dry out and stop drinking. I think this helped because Thursday night I was able to sleep and actually thought the problem was going away because of it. Friday morning I went to my regular doctor and he did a urine test for infection which came back negative. Then he had me do another urine test and a blood test to send to a lab. He also gave me an Rx for Ciprofloxacin, which I started yesterday. Last night I decided to drink a small bottled water. Big mistake. I was up until 5:00 again with nonstop having to urinate feeling coming from the head of penis. I even feel it right now, the sensation, but because I'm drying out again, I don't actually have to pee too badly. But the hot pressure feeling in the head (almost sexual) is there. It is annoying (and I so badly want to masturbate to relieve the sexual feeling but I'm holding out as best I could). Test results should be back early next week. I can say that it is very depressing because you don't know if there will ever be an end to it and life can get back to normal. I also want to add some more details as I saw someone mention this detail here or elsewhere. I would watch porn at night and flip from video to video and it could go on for an hour or two. You start and stop masturbating trying to find the right video. Sounds funny, I know. But we're men and often foolish about this kind of thing. Also, I just stepped away for a moment and had a tiny sip of liquid with my Cipro and almost immediately had to pee. It was only a little liquid but it's weird. As soon as I drink, even if it is a little, it takes only seconds for me to have to pee and/or feel strongly that I do. Even eating can do this to me. In fact, it's about 11:30 in the morning and I still haven't had breakfast. Not even hungry. Usually I've had breakfast by now, a snack and a cup of coffee. I'm really down about this. And what makes it worse is the coronavirus is going around so it's hard to get help. My regular doctor is not a urologist and to see one it is a virtual visit on my smartphone. I need more sleep, I need this terrible feeling to go away, and I need to masturbate. Someone said he changed his method for this. What does that mean? Any other feedback appreciated. I can't live like this.

Thanks for your reply. In conversation with my doctor today, based on my description of what I am experiencing and the fact that all blood and urine tests he did are negative, he's pretty sure the problem is a bladder stone.

Hey man,
I had a similar situation to you. Mine started with a vasectomy, which is really rare. My urologist wasn't actually able to tell me why the procedure started my symptoms. I would encounter a huge urge to urinate, which was never relieved. I, also, couldn't sleep. I feel your pain. I saw a couple different urologists. One actually said it was all in my head (it wasn't). I was going into a depression (which I never have experienced). Finally, I saw a Dr in NYC which changed my life. Dr. Te started from square one with me. Did all the tests and such. Finally, it was found that I have an enlarged prostate. I was 35 at the time (I'm 37 now) and this condition in men my age is very rare, so the previous Dr.'s never checked for an enlarged prostate.
I highly suggest going to a city and finding the best Dr. you can. My problem has been so much more manageable (with medication). I may need surgery one day, but at least I know what it is. I was completely hopeless. If there is anything I can do to help, send me a message. I also suggest speaking with a therapist if you need to. Don't allow your mental health to also get out of control (mine was). Finally, if you want to speak directly, I'd be more than willing if it would help at all- Best of luck

Hello Friend
Well I see that you have exactly the same as me!
I have constant desire, and I do the same amount as before.
The worst thing that happens is when I am lying in bed, during the day working and others I do not notice it so much !!
no I have no pain or itching, just the pressure on my penis to want to urinate

Hi guys, I'm going through myself and I'm only 29. At first I thought it might have been my diet like too much sugar or tannins in decaff drinks but now I'm feeling its something worse. Obviously this is the worst time for this due to being in lockdown and that. But could I be referred to a urologist without having to see my GP. My symptoms are I feel that urine is stuck in my penis similar to you guys. There's no pain but it's an uncomfortable feeling and I am peeing more than usual. Should I monitor it with food and drink to see if it goes away or should I be contacting my gp. Slight issue I have is that I don't live near my GPS as I've moved and couldn't get into a doctors where I live?

I hope this will help to some of the people here.I have been having the same feeling 4 weeks.I used antibiotics and did not work and all urine test was clean.I saw the urologiest and he told me overactive bladder because of stress and gave me a medication and first 3 days it worked really good and at 4th day it started to get the issue as it was in the beginning. So,medication started not work after 4th day.I have been searching and my doctor friend told me if the medication worked first 3 days then it means it is not because you have overactive bladder it is because psychological.I realized that it is because of stress and anxiety. When I am relaxed and try to manage that ,it does not bother me but at the end it still bother a lot.Because I did not get rid of stress and anxiety yet.But I saw it was gone for a little while when I am busy or happy or good mood. Please write to google and youtube ''how to avoid frequent urination because of anxiety '' and you will see what I mean.I hope this will help.I am not still feeling well and I still have it but I hope at least I found the real reason and I will manage this somehow.

Hi there Boys!
I think that your problem might be a bladder issue that most urologists overlook because of incompetence or just plain idiots! Furthermore in my journeys around urology and the many problems I have experience very few urologists give you a wonderful wonderful test called the Urodynamics, which is a very comprehensive test to assess your bladder's: volume, elasticity, void rate, and other arcane aspects. If it is deemed that the bladder has issues, there is the remedy of Botox injected on the bladder that last 6-8 months of constant relief! Moreover, in my journeys of endless sessions and inquiries, I have found that there is NOT one urologist that does it all! You guys have to "audition" your doctors and ask many many questions. Don't be bashful because you are basically hiring a hired hand to do work for you. Good luck Fellas!

This is my follow up to my original lengthy message. I saw a urologist on Friday, May 1. I also want to add here that I have a long history of frequent urination (if I'm watching a TV show, I can go every commercial, no problem). However, this never involved any pain in my penis. That's exactly what I experienced back in the third week of April. It felt like the head of my dick was trying to hold back Niagara Falls. There was no pain or burning during urination, but just the pain of tremendous pressure in my penis, especially in the head. And it would not go away, even after peeing. This happened to me on two different nights. After that it was still happening, only on a lesser scale of pain, but still entirely unbearable! Sleep is impossible and bad thoughts can easily pass through your head, like wishing you could just drop dead right then and there. My regular doctor had put me on Flomax (a generic version) for the prostate but I only took it three times because the urologist gave me an Rx for Solifenacin for the bladder. This was after talking with me and doing some in office exams (I guess it was a sonogram) focusing on my lower belly and sides. I didn't know what to think about the change in medications because based on what I had been reading about prostate problems, I seemed to be the poster child (well, about 90%). Anyhow, the only way I could get any sleep was Tylenol PM. I didn't take it on Friday night and was up all night in pain and having to urinate every few minutes. I did take the Tylenol PM on Saturday night after having a very hellish day in pain. When I woke up on Sunday morning (two days after starting Solifenacin) the terrible pain was gone. I still had to urinate frequently but it was a great relief that the unendurable pain had ended (was this the medication or had the spasm just relented naturally?). Of course, I kept wondering if it would come back again. Today (Monday), also, I'm doing better. My urologist thinks maybe I was having bladder spasms (but he is also not discounting a prostate problem). I'm hoping for continued improvement but right now I'm dealing with an inability to sleep without a sleep aid. The problem is that I have to urinate faster than I can fall asleep and I don't want to take Tylenol PM too many nights in a row. It's a case of nerves, anxiety, stress (is the coronavirus lock down affecting me? I don't know but this problem started about 5-6 weeks into it), and having the sensation that I need to pee coming back way too quickly that makes sleep very hard to come by. Today I walked about 3-4 miles and doing some push ups every hour. Also, trying not to give in to peeing every few minutes. Trying to hold out for about an hour if I can make it. I've heard people say you can retrain your bladder. I don't know but that's what I'm trying to do. My wife bought me a natural sleep aid called Sleep3 by Nature's Bounty but I haven't taken it yet.

n Wow that sounds like a Promethean ordeal Bro, so sad. You mentioned a spasm of the bladder which causes the same symptoms that you expounded on. Did your urologist give you a Uro-Dynamics test? This test is the go to test to determine and analyze your bladder for spasms that could be your problem. It's a little invasive but worth the embarrassment and the pain!!! Then, the Botox modality is at play and will give you peace and serenity for 6-8 months. Iam having the Botox this month at USC Keck Medicine in Los Angeles by a virtuoso doctor by the name of David Ginsberg. For me there is nothing better then speaking and consulting with someone that knows his subject matter inside and out, and Dr. Ginsberg is the guru deluxe. i have seen many urologists and they were all charlatans and inept. Two fantastic giants are Ginsberg and another guy by the name of Kia Michel @ Cedars of Sinai. Good luck to you!
