constant pain under the ribs (on the right side ..in the back)

I am experiencing this pain under my ribs, on the right side and more towards my back than in the front..for about three months now and I have to take Ibuprofen almost every day
This pain is just annoying as its not as bad to prevent me from moving or do stuff, but it is very upsetting to have to endure it every day.
I am 29 years old (woman).
I went to the doctor first in February when he tested my blood. The result came back normal (he said he tested for infections). After that I went again and he gave me an X-ray in my abdominal area..well that one came back normal too.
Now, last week (30th of May) he said he would send me through the post a form or something like that.. to go with it and have an ultrasound. I waited now a week and I cant wait to receive it already as I want to see if they will see something at the Echo scan.
I would have wanted the ultrasound taken first if you ask me..as I suspect it might be something like a kidney stone..or something like that..?
I only have this pain in my back, somewhere under my ribs (and on the right side), only when I stand.
I feel better when sitting down or lying. I am thankful for that at least..I suppose it could be worse ..so I get some break from this.
The doctor as I see him is clueless and he said that if we don't find anything after all these tests..he might just blame it on a muscle that was pulled or something..
I mean..this is ridiculous as basically it would be just a guess..even leaving it like that..
what if in time it affects me more with some other consequences?
I am very concerned already and tired with this pain.
Please I would like to know your opinions about this.
I must add that I have no other symptoms..no swellings or other problems. Just this pain every day and is constant and annoying and I just want to know what it is already to treat it and get over with my life.

If you are having gallbladder disease symptoms, but all the bloodwork, ultrasounds, xrays are coming back normal request to get a HIDA Scan. The results of my test are my gallbladder is functioning at 14% and the cause for all my symptoms. I constantly feel full, tenderness and pain under my right rib, and when I eat I get headaches, lightheaded and the pain/fullness is worse and my blood pressure drops. I see a surgeon later today. Doctors only seem to respond to gallbladders if you have an attach from gallstones, but don't think to look for gallbladder disease/dysfunction. I have been told that you can't fix a gallbladder once it is damaged to this point. My history, I am 46 years old and about 2 years ago I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. I went through chemo and was put on a lot of drugs during the chemo process. Due to the location and type of cancer I did not get radiation. My GI believes that all that treatment damaged my gallbladder. The chemo has already damaged my heart. I just wonder what else it has damaged that I don't know about. Don't give in to a doctor that gives up! Find a new doctor and be persistent. It is your body and no one knows it better than you!

I'm not sure if this response is valid in this category. But, I have had constant
back pain and tried to get a diagnosis. Turns out I had a fractured rib T-10
in my back.
I also have deteriorated disks in my thoracic and cervical spine.
I have been to numerous DR's and havent had a complete diagnosis.
One physical therapist said I may have a damaged Facet, connects ribs to spine.
anyway. I have constant pain in my right side posterior of my back.

I've had the pain for some time, and have been for an ultra scan and was told I had a small kidney stone and there where signs of a non alcoholic fatty liver, but I feel that this pain is coming from my ascending colon which as not been picked up by the scan.
I first noticed it some time ago after I had, say a three course meal, but now the feeling is there all the time.
What I don't want to happen is some to say to me "if we'd have caught it sooner" a year from now.
Any ideas or course of action I should request from my Doctor.
Thanks in advance.
Tony
