cured!!!! 100% real story/my story!!!

This is my story. I am not completely sure how I got it or if I ever really had it. I did what some people might have also done, self diagnosed. If I could go back I would have definitely went to a dermatologist and demanded a skin scrape test, which would hopefully determine what exact skin condition I had. But I was convinced and still believe I had scabies.

It all started with a small patch of bumps that were on my right forearm. It was about 2 weeks before Christmas. I noticed the bumps after they started to itch a little, but didn’t think much of it. Then it seemed to appear on the other forearm. Not ever having something like this or even understanding the many possibilities, I just thought it was a simple rash. About 3 days later while sleeping, I woke up with a severe itchiness on the inside of both my thighs, then during the day it was like it disappeared. It happened the next day but seemed more severe, and the only thing that seemed to help was taking a hot bath and letting the water run over my thighs. Again in the morning it went away. After that night of basically no sleep and in the bath, I went on webMD and typed in all my symptoms and it came up with scabies as one of the possibilities, especially with the itching and scratching at night. At this point I was not sure what I should do. The next night was the same as the two previous nights but seeming to get more intense. But in the morning I woke up and noticed that it had spread all over my body. It was all over my arms, but not really on the hands. It was all over my back, on my chest and stomach, and all over my legs and on my feet. The weird thing about my lower legs like from the knee down, it that around each hair follicle it seem to have a red circle. At this point I went to a community urgent care. When I went they asked what I was there for, I told them a rash and that I thought I might be scabies. Of course me not knowing the nightmare of a condition it can be, I told them, and of course the treated me as if I had the plague or something. Knowing what I know now I can not really blame them. Needless to say they were very unhelpful, one of the nurses told me that simple lice shampoo would take care of the problem. So I took her advice and went to Rite Aid and bought some and put in all over my body. Of course as you all probably know, it takes a lot more than simple hair lice product to kill them. So after a couple days and a couple applications of Rid the head lice treatment with no results I decided to go to a real urgent care affiliated with a hospital. When I went in and told them what I thought I had, they didn’t treat much different from other patients in the waiting room. Even the doctor was pretty at ease with sitting in the room and talking with me, or at least it seemed as if he was. Anyway, he prescribed permitherin. I put it all over except my face. The next morning it actually seemed to help a lot. Also washed all my blankets pillows and all dirty clothes in hot water. And I grabbed my bike and went out for a ride, with scratch scars on my arms and legs, but I was cured. So I thought. It only took a couple days to realize that permitherin helped but did not kill or cure all. I found myself refilling my perscription 7 days later and reapplying it because even the package says it may need second dosage 7 days later. The second dose still didn’t kill or cure all.

I then found myself searching the web and reading and learning as much as I can about this. At this point I was convinced I had scabies because I even talked to a doctor and he told me if the scabicide worked even a little it only works on parasites and not skin conditions such as follicleitis and others that are commonly confused with scabies. As the saying goes IGNORANCE IS DEFINITELY BLISS! The more I read, the more I was horrified. Ever story of struggle with hardly and happy endings, was discouraging. I can not tell you how many posts and forum pages I read. I was determined to beat this.

This is what I bought;

I bought a plastic drop “cloth” from the dollar store to cover my mattress with. I would spray and wipe this down every morning with Lysol or some type of disinfectant spray because believe me Lysol gets very expensive after a little while. I believe I replaced this once a week or so, but only a dollar so not too bad.

I bought plastic pillow cover from Wal-Mart I think. Actually slept without pillow throughout most of this. I also sprayed and wiped down every morning.

I bought plastic gloves from dollar store that I wore almost all day. Probably was a riot to a lot of people while driving in the streets, but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t letting myself come into contact with any new ones that might be on objects in my car or in my house. I made sure that to throw these away every time I touched something I thought could possibly have been contaminated. So needless to say I went through a lot of plastic golves.

Always had plastic bags for my laundry, trash(mostly napkins and plastic gloves).

I tried to confine myself to my room so I ate out I would say 99.99% of this time. I would mostly go to McDonalds and get a cheeseburger and a dollar salad. And buy like two of three of these for the day.

This was my regimen for many many months;

I limited my clothes I wore to 3 sets, and washed clothes every 3 to 4 days. I also limited what I used as blankets at night, 1 sheet.

This is what remedies I have tried;

Permitherin about 5 or 6 times. I took 1 dose that seems to help a lot but not all the way. Went back a week later and did it one more time. After that didn’t work I believe I tried it 3 times in a row, which still did not kill all. I also read online somewhere that they are getting more and more resistant to permitherin. And if you think about it, it make sense that they are suvivors, they have been around for a long long time.

After permitherin didn’t work, I tried vinegar

After vinegar didn’t work I tried Neem. I used the Neem lotion from Henry’s , now Sprout’s.

After neem didn’t work, I ordered some pure neem oil from eBay, along with coconut and olive oil.

After that didn’t work I decided I was going to try Ivermectin.

Ivermectin worked for me.

Luckily I live close to Tijuana, Mexico so I was able to take a trip down there and purchase Ivermectin, or Ivermectina in Spanish. I bought enough to take 3 weeks in a row. I did this and was cured, it was not instant, I had a lot of bumps and residuals still poping up from time to time, but this time I knew something was different. It took a month or two to really stop seeing new bumps form, but I heard it could take a while for all the scabies that died due to ivermectin to come out of skin, and while they are there still they show symptoms of iratation, i.e. rash.

Even to this day I get small little bumps pop up, but I pretty sure by taking the permitherin and ivermectin I probably picked up a small case of dermatitis or follicleitis.

Please ask any questions, I will try to help as much as possible, Please hang in there and remember things can and will get better!

    here is the one sure shot way to get rid of scabies for good without havin to do all this crazy stuff... suflur lotion works good but its not potent enough u need to make your own. order some suful powder from the internet then take lotion or creamy petrolium or lotion of your choice and mix the sulfur powder into the lotion making sure its at least 30 to 40% sulfur and and also mix some baby oil into the sulfur lotion to make alot easier to spread. after you made it apply the sulfur lotion to your whole body from head toe including head face scalp and private areas. this will also provide almost immidiate relief from itch too. thereafter keep applying your homeade lotion after shower, wear it for the day, at the end of the day shower and reapply the lotion from head to toe right after shower. keep doing this till scabies are completely gone having scabies ull know when that is. I PROMISE THIS WILL WORK.

      Not always.  I had scabies in 2014 that was cured in under 5 days of sitting in my house with 10% sulphur cream.  Researchers built the scabies genome by 2015 and found 3 separate clades or genealogical lineages.  Some are more resistant to things than others.  I have them now again in 2018 and sat in larger granulated sulphur at 40-50% and it did nothing to them.  I went 2 weeks straight in precipitated sulphur, at high percentage, and nothing.  My skin was messed up and my face looked 30 years older because my skin had absorbed so much sulphur and dried out. I used to think sulphur was a for sure thing, too, and it's good to try it, but it's not a for sure thing.

    Hi there ! Thank you for your post ! I have read to much , have become paranoid , lost sleep and have had so much anxiety about contracting scabies . I caught it from a friend that stayed at my place for a few days (no skin to skin contact like the CDC says ) she did not know she had it at the time . (Had hives ). I am in the very early stages , went to my Dr a d after so much reading asked for Ivemectrin (wondering if I should do that and the permethrin cream as well ?) I have 3 pills of Ivemectrin to take a week apart. I am unsure about when I can wear clothes without washing everyday ? If I am still contagious after taking one pill ? I spent hours cleaning and wondering if I need to do that every day ?? This whole thing is exhausting as I'm sure you can relate ! I can't focus on anything else , freaked out about all the stories I've read , I walk around with spray in my hand (90% alcohol mixed with vinegar, bed bug spray , cleaner I got at the hospital that's used to kill everything ). I feel like I'm breath ing so much toxic cleaner ! How long do I need to be this obsessive ? I also have a cat I treated with Advantage Multi .... everyone tells you a cat can not catch human scabies , but I believe they use them as a host . I have no idea if once I took the Ivemectrin can mites in my place still infect me ??? As I'm sure all can relate , this is making me crazy and I caught this very early on knowing once my friend was diagnosed I might get this. Thank you for any thoughts , suggestions or something to make me calm down smile

      Hi, your post has made me LOL so bad! Not because I think it's funny but I'm glad to know I'm not obsessive or nuts. People like us need to laugh. It gets that bad. For me I have treated myself, the gp doesnt listen and my friends complain and only 1/3 of my friends get rash, some do not. I did warn them not to visit. I had crustiness on my scalp I got rid by sulphur soap. Sulphur soap gets rid of zillions of them. But does't treat under the skin at all. I tried that benzo cream it burned like merry hell. Then I learned what to do. I boiled my sheets, ironed, steam cleaned everywhere I could (leather sofas are the worst and my mate had itches and slept on the new leather sofa!) -cheers mate! Anyway the guy I fancy thinks Im dutty. He got rashes but I didnt. The gp now thinks Im having an anxiety disorder. They have no idea what Ive been doing every day. Anyways. I used methalon cream or wot not twice. should be 5 days apart not 7. Head to toe, nose, ears, eye lash (use a cotton bud) between toes. Then I used hot water for my hands, steamed kettle, taps, handles. The thing I get it back from is laptop. Just wrap your laptop for 10 days plus. Hoover it first if you want.

      After using the lotion twice I used 50% the 25% bonzo emulsion with ordinary body cream. It worked! Then I used clove oil some days in body cream. The only reason Im sadly catching it back is .. I had a few left on my head and down below. I finally got prescribed permithrine even tho they think its imaginary. LOOOL. So the chemist had to order in, I missed it, then it was bank holiday, now my itches are spreading again! Ive dyed my hair and go to get my cream in the morning. But I will deffo say 60 degree wash is not enough, tumble dry is not enough.boil bedding, iron clothes and see the difference with timely lotion application, steaming and no visitors. Visitors bring them back. And its not fair to you or them. Im not having visitors anymore. Next time the doctor says he dont beleive me he can look down there or rub his fingers through my hair and see if he gets an itch LOL. I hope to be cured in the next week or 2! I hope this info works for you. Thanks for your SOH making me laugh. I so needed it!

      I think only a Xanax will do now LOL! You should get neem/tulsi/sulphur soap. You should not take baths but showers cos they spread unless you take a salted and herbal bath or a Diotamceious Earth bath. Target any scabby areas eg behind the ears or places you dont notice toes and cut your toe nails. If you get in your shoes -put them in a bag and put them in the freezer. You dont need to throw away all your things. Keep working at it and youll get better! Treat medicine x 2 or 3 then mix benzo cream with body lotion. I also put oil in my washing machine and around my home. I steam my bed which still has the plastic on cos its a new mattress. It is expensive and dangerous to buy sht load of sprays. Kleen Green was helpful but not when spraying it manically. Get the hygiene upto 100% and then go for couple products and dont breath them in! Good Luck!xx

      I don't know how many mg you're getting, but I am given 8 pills and need to take 4 pills (3mg ea) per WEEK. Permethrin didn't help me, even though, at the time, I was doing that and the Ivermectin together. Are you cured by now?

    I woke up and on my arm I felt a stiff bump and looked at it, but then my Butt lol started to itch so I looked and it was like the same patch like in my arm. I checked everywhere else, nothing was there. I looked this up and read your story. After that I was going to go and take a shower with this soap I got that is for dry itchy skin. I am 11 years old and my mom was still asleep cause its like 6:30am and I was worried I would have to go to the doctor so I stopped scratching my arm and my.... butt, and was going to go take a shower. So after I got out in felt cleaner but maybe I had an alergic reaction to something. But my mom lives in a old 100 yr old house with moldand dust and all that with 2 cats. On my a it seemed to be going away a little at a time.

    I have already had exema on my hands and a little on my arms my whole life. It was almost gone on my arm but on mine... butt it was starting to go away but I was still worried if it would come up anywhere else but I haven't seen anything so I'm just going to wait on my mom to get up and go ahead and reply this. Do yo

    u have any idea what it could be or what could help

    Hi there ! Thank you for your post! I have treated with permethrin and ivermectrin. What keeps freaking me out are the bumps I'm still getting . The anxiety is terrible. I just don't know how I could still have this with all the cleaning (left my place after 2 treatments as well ) I was obsessive about it . I feel like I've poisoned myself with ivermectrin. I almost seem to have more red bumps after treatment . I guess I'm looking for reassurance that this is normal??? Again I don't know how I could possibly still have this! Thank you !

      Well I've probably been over treating.....last Tuesday/ Wed I took Ivermectrin with permethrin Wed eve as well . On Sat morning I took more ivemectrin (my boyfriend visiting after 8 weeks of treating so wanted to be extra sure ) I'm getting red bumps , they don't really itch . I caught this very early because I knew I had been exposed so didn't get the usual bumps and nevery burrows . Def have had tingling/ crawling sensations. I've read bumps can happen for weeks after treatment but so paranoid . I haven't found a Doctor that knows anything about this (very scary) and I work in the medical field .

      My daughter/ grand babie just went through this and are successfully treated. My daughter had 2 permethrin treatments for typical scabies and grand daughter 2 treatments with permethrin and 2 ivermectin. That's it and 2 days of cleaning, one after each treatment. It took 7 weeks of no more spots and for skin to heal. Give it time, I am sure if treatments were done correct you do not have them. Coconut oil for the skin is awesome. Also our family was treated as we hold baby all the time, we never got it and we had lots of close contact.

      The baby had crusted scabies something terrible! That's why she had extra treatment. They got new spots and some days the skin would be red with small pustules that we were for sure new spots, waited a day and would go away. 7 weeks out was the huge turning point!
