I had 8 years of repeated bladder and kidney infections with very high fever when i was a child. It ended with surgery to reimplant my left ureter. I never had anot her infection after that. I was 9 years of age. The problem was that the bladder never emptied and it was because of bad placement of my ureter..it allowed the urine to ho back up and cause infection. Ask your urologist to research this. I am so thankful that this fixed the problem. Maybe this is your issue as well.

Does your Significant Other have a beard or mustache? It's not a coincidence for me as I've never had UTIs until I started dating a man with a mustache....Weird but totally logical once you think about it. [Hopefully I'm not offending anyone by my plain talk]. I wonder if there's every been a study done or analysis performed to see if a man's beard/mustache could carry the bacteria responsible for UTIs?

    Hi,

I feel yr pain. I had it for months and months. Tried everything. Loads of antibiotics from docs. Nothing worked.

I was then recommended to a health clinic and got some pills called vibrational pills for ecoli. They are amazing. Honestly it got rid of it. They said I had had food poisoning from chicken. They said not to eat chicken or sugar till it cleared up. It worked wonders. Went back after a couple of months for check up and ecoli had gone. I felt better so quickly. Best thing I ever did. I still take 2 mannose at night as well.

    Hope this helps you x

I don't see other replays, so I can't tell if someone has told you to quit d mannose and vitamin D. I am going through same thing, I had stoped it for a long time, then I had a long time in between going through the uti/bladder problems, and went back on vitamin D and Boom , it happened all over again. Now I feel like someone is twisting a knife in my vagine, which is why I thought it was uti. But I guess those vitamins and mannose in some people cause cystitis .

Hello, many many years ago when I was newly married I had continuous bladder infections from having sex. I lived way out in the country and the new doctor in town didn't know what to do for me. I was on antibiotics for months. My sexual relations with my husband were very strained. At my wits end, I went to an old country surgeon who told me that my urethra was spastic and that it was also swollen so when I peed, I was not able to completely void my bladder. That caused bacteria to grow in my bladder.

That day, the old surgeon dialated my urethra. This stretched the urethra back out to it's original diameter. Doing this allowed me to completely void when I peed.  The doctor told me to have this done every 6 weeks to 2 months until I had children. Having a child did  take care of my problem I have had only 1 or2 infections since, usually caused by dehydration or forgetting to pee after sex.

Like I told the doctor having a kid was a"hell of a cure," but it did work. I hope this helps.

So happy for you! However I had four kids via csection. Had internal exams. Just told I'm flared up badly due to this Ecoli infection 😥

    Hi there

I'm reading your story and can't believe I am going through exactly the same thing. I was told I had IC 8 years ago. Was put on Elmiron and Peridium. No symptoms 8 years. No infections. Then this past September, BAM hit with a terrible UTI. One after another. Was put on three different antibiotics. Calmed symptoms but didn't take them away. I'm still on my couch. With heating pad. Feeling hopeless. I'm married, scared to have sex because I'm scared to be in worse pain or give my husband this Ecoli. Yes that's what it is. Ecoli. The worst monster infections of them all. I went to my old Urologist and he kept telling me it's just my IC NO infections. Urine clean. But he never sent my urine to labs. Severe burning in my urethra constantly and urgency and frequency to urinate. Living in bathroom. I try to hold my urine as long as I can. My bladder is not holding urine and not dropped. I just have a really bad case of Ecoli that's embedded into my bladder lining. I'm now on my second dose of Macrobid. Showed sensitive on my urine test. So that's where I'm at now. I was on first weekly dose taking two per day over one week ago. Finished my last one last Sunday morning. Then I was told to take Hiprex (which stops infections from reoccurring but urine has to be acidic) and Vitamin C. Needless to say they BOTH flared me up worse on top of this awful infection that obviously did not clear up. Came back ten fold. So o called my Dr yesterday. In tears. She said if Hiprex and Vitamin C are flaring me up to stop them and she put me on another week of Macrobid twice per day for another week. I started last night. She prefers me to still take Only the Hiprex with the Macrobid but I'm scared to take the Hiprex. Meanwhile in scared this Ecoli will never go away. I want my life back. I have four kids too and it's been a nightmare. Any suggestions?

You could try a solid teaspoon of powdered D-Mannose in about 10 oz. of water on top of the antibiotics. I buy the 6 oz. bottles of NOW Pure Powder D-Mannose from Amazon, but your local co-op will likely have a bottle for sale (just more expensive). Tell capsules did nothing for me. You have to hit it hard. (E. Coli should attach to the D-Mannose and flush out.) I suffer from chronic UTIs and have annihilated my body with years of antibiotics. D-Mannose seems to help me with prevention. I also put lemon in my water and (obviously) skip caffected and alcohol! Try it. Can't hurt. Good luck! We all feel your pain.

      Hi,

I feel your pain and I'm sure the doctors we go to have never suffered as we are or they would be more secitive to our pain.

have just come across a pad to cover the anus, I know it sounds gross but if there is leakage there and it is causing the ecoli problem and a whole pad just spreds it around then I'm thinking this might be the cure or at least help.

As I am in Canada the " Butterfly pads for bowl leakage" are not yet available here so I'm looking to have a friend send me some to try.

      They're worth a try.

I read they can be found at Wall Mart, target, HEB

      Good luck

I bought these pads after reading your post.  Maybe it's my conformation, but I could not use them.  The wings weren't long enough to stick on the sides and the other direction they rammed into the female parts.

I read they made the pads for both men and women, maybe the female were made too small?

Sorry that they didn't work for you, thank you for giving them a try and letting me know your opinion on them.
