DIVI DINERS

Posted , 82 users are following.

Returning from a hospital session of Drips and Deprevation (food) I was handed a Low Residue diet to follow. Scant in products, and information what to do with said products, I searced the web for more information,

onlt to find contradictory eat's and don't eats, so I thought that WE the

sufferers of food deprevation should start our own Divi Diners club and see if we can throw some light on the subject.

Ilove mushrooms, but cannot find any info about them.

How do we achieve our five a day if we can't eat fruit? Is it O.K. to take the

skins off?

Can we have chips or roasties,or fish with batter on?

Spices, do any of you use spices. and what do you put on spaghetti?

Can we blitz veggies, as stews and casseroles are forbidden?

Pastry is allowed, but no mentoin of which type.

So. can we help each other ,then at least when ,or if we ,dine out, we can

order something from the menu.

I cannot eat boiled potatoes ,eggs (is it O.K to have a fried one?)

jelly and rice pudding for ever. .

So please join in and share your doe's and dont's. mushrooms eaters

would be good to hear from.

Morning all, Mixing with you lot has re-activated my poetic streak ,so now you chew on this one

I can't climb mountains, or run for a bus,

but have a sense of humour, and moments of lust.

I also have pains, twinges and aches

so which of us doesn't, for goodness sake.

I need smiles and hugs and some TLC

someone to hold my hand and walk with me

along windswept beaches, in tranquil woods,

it makes me feel happy, makes me feel good.

so, if you recognise any of the above.

just pop into the forum for a slice of love.

Nice one to start my working week.  I have a 'someone' now.  He's very special and looks after me when various bits of me get overloaded!  Everyone should have a 'someone.'  I recommend it!  biggrin

Dear Donna, What a list - poor you.  I will do my best to help.  Your first step is to go on a low residue diet, eaily found on line.  Stick with it for a week and two weeks if you can.  Then slowly reintroduce a bit of fibre.  Leave it 24 hours to see how you cope and then the next day try something different, again giving it 24 hours before trying something else.  I would avoid the apple and blackcurrant too; acid seems to be quite unfriendly to us DD sufferers.  Unfortunately, with the gluten sensitivity you are going to have to spend time reading labels in the supermarkets.  Sorry!  I eat porridge, the plain stuff, not flavoured or multigrain. If that's a bit too plain for you, you could try a bit of jam (no pips) or something like vanilla essence.  I personally don't like vanilla, but there's no reason why you couldn't try it.  Porridge is a way down the timeline though.  Start with something small, maybe a suitable bread roll or something else gluten free.  Reading through other posts will be really helpful - there's a lot of good advice and friendly chat.  Hope this helps.

Hi Donnag, you probably know that I am the guinea pig schoffer, I try foods and let everyone know what happens .Tonight for dinner was a success, so this one might be of interest to you.

One large field mushroom, with the black gills scraped out, it stops too

much oil being absorbed. Oven on at 200 rub oil inside and out sprinkle

with white pepper, bake in the oven keep turning them over, don't let

them get soggy. Fry slices of Halumi cheese  half inch , until they are

browned and soft ,Fill the mushroom with chopped cooked ham, hot or cold  put the cheese slices on top,and I had asparagus with it

thoroughly enjoyed it, and NO probs.,and for pud, I had a chocolate

      mousse. Jac
