Dizziness

I have been prescribed Amitriptyline for nueropathic pain, after Keppra did not suit me. The pain seems to be derived from a back injury, but a neurologist Thinks  an antidepressant drug will help. The pain has been suppressed, but the side effects are a problem, like extreme tiredness and today dizziness when I was driving. Anyone had a similar problem and is it worth sticking with.

Not a good idea as they are anti depressants they will make you feel more drowsy and the amitriptyline will not work

This will be my 4th night I'm reluctant to carry on but I suppose I will have to give it a fair go. I've had ringing in my ears too 😔

I will stop tonight and let you know tomorrow how I went on.

Oh forgot to say the ringing in the ears is another side effect I have tinnitus and the amtriplyline makes it worse

Listening to Marshal I think I will put up with pain. Seriously I have enjoyed the discussion.

I've never missed a dose since I started it I can say I've had about 3 nights where I could not sleep at all because I was in so much pain also I found out from having drinking chocolate late at night made it harder to sleep.

Wish You well keep us informed

Google low dose naltrexone. It is being used by pain clinics in the U.S. With great success and few side effects. And may cause weight loss. Your doctor may only be familiar with high dose naltrexone which is used Ifor opiod withdrawal, and has significant toxicity, so be prepared to educate him about the safety of LOW DOSE naltrexone. High dose is 50-100 mg, low dose is 3-5 mg. Has even been found to be safe in children.
