Dizziness caused by acid reflux

I was pleased to find this site as 4 months ago I was gong to the gym most days of the week. I am 61 years old but consider myself to be relatively fit. In may of this year I developed a spit and continually wanted to clear my throat .
I have had an MRI scan, Cat scan andchest/lung Xrays, all of which were clear. I have experienced lots of the symtoms contributore to the site talk about. Back pain, shoulder pain, breathlessness, hoarsness ,buzzing in my head tiredness and most scary of all lightheadedness which makes me feel as if I'm going to faint. I have seen two ENT consultants the latter of whom said that a virus was causing too much acid being produced in my stomach and has prescribed two 20mg doses of Opemrazole daily. I have taken great comfort form the discussions on this site but I am particularly interested if anyone has experienced the lightheadedness/ dizziness and ringing in the head.

I also found being on so many antacids makes me pick up so many bugs I never did before. I've had two stomach infections and several others this year whereas I never had any before, having no stomach acids not always a good thing!

Hi All! Need some advise. I have had stomach pains for the last 9 months. It comes and goes it causes fatigue and dizziness, I get nausea and sometime have the shivers like cold fever with extreme stomach cramps . I have had a colonoscopy, swallowed the camera, 2x blood tests and a CT scan and nothing was found wrong my Appendix is not showing on CT scan even though it has not been removed. I have fainted twice at work and at the moment I am up in arms not sure what is causing it. One doctor says its Appendicitis and my appendix must come out, but specialist says its not and isn't going to operate. Hope someone can give advise as i'm up in arms now.

Well the past few months for me has been quite the adventure. I’ve had dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, dreaminess, stomach aches, chest pains, headaches, shoulder pains, felt removed from reality, shallow breathing, balance issues, ears popping, weak legs, extreme fatigue, a cough, mucus and terrible sweating - I thought my time was up.
I am a healthy tall fun 38 year old male in London btw. I had CT scans, MRI, X rays, Gastroscopy and Colonoacopy and hey presto - stomach hernia, H Plylori, acid reflux and oeosphogitis. I feel so unwell and I look fine, most of my family and friends don’t believe how bad I say I feel and I’ve been told it’s anxiety sooooo many times too.
My quality of life has dramatically dropped and I can say that I almost feel disabled. I’ve started an alkaline vegan diet as well as dozens of supplements like slippery elm, gaviscon, lungwort, ginger root and ordered many more.
There HAS to be a cure for this nightmare! I’m currently sitting on a sunlounger in Africa but feel like I’m dreaming reality. It’s awful....

All,
I'm 28 years old and have had a lot of the same symptoms you are dealing with . Burping up acid , dizziness ( literally falling over) , people telling me that it's anxiety , me knowing that it is not anxiety , thousands on doctor bills , Something called "the old Amish trick for acid reflux " got rid of it all . Now I just use apple cider vinegar to keep it away . My opinion is that you will have to continue taking it for a while to make sure the dizziness goes away but the reflux stop almost immediately . For me it seem to be within a week or two I noticed that the dizziness seem to mellow and now it's permanently gone.

Hi weebee, I am 50 and had gone through what you have described since 2012, shortness of breath, chest discomfort, throat discomfort, back pain, chest pain, join pain, dizziness, light headed, headaches, bloating, tiredness. I am smoker and overweight, I have done many medical check out and everything normal, doctors think I have chronic fatigue syndrome and acid reflux. I have also tried many gastric medication, diet and supplements but none seems to work long term. I have even tried antidepressant under doctor's guidance and it didn't work either. I normally feels healthy in between episodes!
My symptoms seems to be going away after 4years but some seems to be coming back again lately due to my busy schedule! Else I would not get onto this website.
Those episodes are scary most of the time but last mostly less than many hours, it hinders my energy and motivation greatly but didn't seem to harm me after it's over!
I guess, it is very irritating and scary, and recently, I think protein supplements really can cos it to come back for me. There are other things I usually avoid now like coffee and tea, heavy meals, alcohol, spicy food, heavy smoking especially causes it.
Anyway, I am back to normal life despite still encounter less scary episodes now . Some doctors said there is no cure but it would cause much damages to my body and it will go away. It reduces after 4 years for me, so hope yours will deminish soon
