Dizziness, headaches, foggy, pressure in head & plugged ears

It's happening again, everyday it's the same thing and I don't know how to calm myself down. I think when ever I get these feeling I am going to pass out and die instantly. The dizziness gets so bad I have to hold my head and close my eyes I don't understand it. I always think I'm having a heart attack, stroke, blood clot in my head or cancer all the time because doctors still don't know why I get these symptoms. I get anxiety so bad because of the pain I get and I keep thinking the worse things. I keep thinking that i am getting the wrong diagnosis from the doctors and if I ignore the pain it is actually something serious then it's too late to do anything about it.

Tests that I got done in the last 3 years were: xray of my head and neck, mri of head, numerous blood work. I have done physio, chiro, acupuncture and massage therapy. Only thing that kind of helps is massage therapy which is what I am still doing now.

I am getting no answers and just worrying everyday. I just want these symptoms to go away I want my life back I don't feel like the same person anymore.

How did you get on when you went to see ent and neurologist

Hi there! The ENT dis a hearing test and found that I hear a little less on my left ear than my right but I am still on the normal range for both ears. She also said that my eyes bounce a little. She is sending me for a MRI next week and a balance test. The neurologist said that my B12 is low and can be causing the symptoms so now I am on 2500 MG of b12. He is sending me for a MRA of my neck, some electrode test of my brain, physical therapy for my shoulders because I am so tense and stiff there from all of the stress and anxiety this had caused me. Today I didn't feel so good and I am holding back tears as I am writing this...I am sick of being sick and I continue to pray for a healing for us all. I will keep you posted. God bless.

    Hello

I perfectly understad you. I have been sick for five years and no doctor finds anytging. Everyday I get worse and nothing. I get very dizzy if I go down, head pressure, hot flashes( a feeling of heat from my chest to my head) skin rashes, butterfly rash, heat intolerance, very very low energy( I cannot function), severe brain fog, inflamation of my face, abdomen, arms, and a lot of more symptoms that do not allow me to go out, go to work, go to school, take care of my babies or function. I wish one day we find a doctor that cares and help us. Nice to meet you.

Yes. I have been tested for lupus like three times. Nothing. I am thinking that maybe I should go to the IR again. Have you done that?
    • Posted

Thanks for the question about lupus. Did you go to a neurologist?

I am very sorry. I ment ER. Emergency. I was writing fast and I wrote IR. I am from Florida. Now thank you and other people here at least I know what to ask the doctors. Why your DR dont order blood tests for you? Change Dr then. I have been doing that. I think the CT is a good idea. Now I heard that Jackson Hospital have very good Drs. I will go there.

      ATTENTION!

I have dealt with this for over 25 years. What started as cluster headaches have morphed and have the same characteristics as everyone is describing.

This I know from extensive experience with the medical community - please seek out a Neurologist who is ALSO a headache specialist. Be certain you find one with experience and is actually involved with the National Headache Foundation, research, something other than simple claims. Years ago I spent far too much time and money with various Neurologists claiming to be knowledgeable.

There are treatment options based on individual need. Mine is low level prednisone for about 2 to 4 weeks.

      Good luck everyone!

I've had migraines or headaches or some kind for 30 years and now this. I appreciate your input. I've been on the 5 day prednisone pack-no results. How did your neurologist come up with that treatment plan?

    • Posted

Prednisone is used for cluster. A headache specialist needs to evaluate you. The original treatment plan had me on prednisone for six weeks starting with 30 or 40 mg per day. That proved to be an overkill and I began adjusting the dosage on my own, reducing it significantly. Basically, I started with the amount that aborted symptoms which, for me, does not need to be more than 20mg and I reduce over a period of 3 to 4 weeks max. Sometimes it only takes 2 weeks. But this is specific to my body. You need a headache specialist to rule out any other sources and then identify the headache. I have an appointment with aNeurological headache specialist at USF Health this month to see what f ther s anything new that won't require prednisone. What are your symptoms?
