Double Z Plasty with VY advancement

Posted , 21 users are following.

Anyone had one of these?   Its an alternative to a fentons procedure and is designed to sort out that bit of skin at the entrance to the vagina which keeps splitting.

I am going in on Friday to have it done.....   i have had to wait since I saw the surgeon in October, but although i am nervous, I am hopeful.

I already cannot have sex, how much worse could it get?

will let you all know how it goes.....

xx G

Hello Nelsmydog, I have heard of the Fenton repair but what exactly is the

Z plasty with VY? I am also unable to have penetrative sex at the

moment due to fusing and am using a dilator to stretch the skin.

However, I am always splitting at the base of the vagina entrance and this gets so

sore. It's not even where the fusing is.

Well, i put on a post about 12 hours ago with a link, but its still waiting for moderation.   Afraid the best i can say is google it.   The surgeon who invented it. Johnarhan Frappel has retired but he h trained others.   If you look for the name of the procedure and the surgeons name, there is a video of the whole op....

its designed to fix the bit that keeps tearing but is a neater job than the fentons.     In the description, it specifically refers to LS.

I too seem to be in the same boat as you.     :-(.    Lets hope this op fixes it.

      Will keep you updated.

I bought Emuaid soap and a 2oz jar of cream for 74 dollars over net. Went to my Dermotoligest yesterday took the paper work on it. He said don't order anymore. Didn't have anything extra in it. Just a big price for a bar of soap and moisturizer. Just use Dove soap if I just had to

there was a report ob dove some time ago, said it was one of the worst for causing problems.  Eek!

I was amazed that you were told to try Dove soap ! And by a DERMATOLOGIST? ! I strongly recommend you do not use it. I use Aveeno body wash without any problems and Hydromol ointment to moisturiser and act as a barrier. You may want to try or those . Or just use water to wash and Hydromol, its brilliant.

I too use only Aveeno. It was suggested to me by several hospice nurse when being caretaker of family in hospice care. It's all I use and take it with me when away from home.

    Hi.

Good luck with the procedure. Keep us posted. I had a Fentons procedure which helped but I would be interested to hear how successful this is. I've not been offered this by my specialist. I have further splitting and just been offered another fentons which I am not convinced will help, plus I found it painful afterwards.

Well this is known as the plymouth procedure, done at plymouth hospital and developed by jonathan frappel, specifically to help a patient who has no luck with the fentons.   It uses the sort of stitching techniques used in plastic surgery.

a bit of searching and you can find a video which explains it really well....

      A. week on from having it done i am feeling fine, though a bit sore and bruised.   I can sit and walk ok, bending down is a bit of a chalkenge.   Not yet ready to go back to my  very physical gardening job, maybe another week or so.....

Have been sitting in baths of bicarb and back to my normal routine with borax.       The itching is the sort of itch you get when something is healing.....  Its bearable,

still wearing loose clothing, wont be back in my tight jeans for a week or two.....   But all well so far.

Ok, its been 2 and a half weeks,    Finally stopped itching all the time, though i am using my borax rinse again......

Still a bit bruised and i can feel the stitches are still there.   They pull a bit but am generally ok...   Worked out in my garden for all of yesterday, digging and sawing wood, so would say i can probably get back into work, though part time.

Have had a look and everything looks ok, though i am a bit sqeamish so it was just a quick look.     Havent taken any pain killers, and still not wearing tight jeans.

I sat down on my drum  stool the other day, but drumming is a problem, as you put your weight on your seat so you can use your feet.....   Probably leave that for a couple of weeks..

no longer feeling any numbness and can tense muscles again so no longer rushing off to the loo....

    xx.  Nmd. A
