Has anyone discussed the teeth grinding with their dentist? Years ago I had these symptoms, headaches, pain in my jaw etc., so I mentioned it to my dentist, and then got a 'bite raising appliance'. It won't help with the stress, but it does stop the teeth grinding. It's just a little plate that slips into the roof of your mouth, and has a thick bit near the front that stops your teeth meeting. What I found was eventually I stopped the grinding altogether, as it actually breaks the habit.
It's worth having a conversation with your dentist.
Hope this helps. :-)

No. I just attribute it all to hormones. In fact, lately everything I feel I blame it on Estrogen. Whenever I run to the doctor about my symptoms they think I'm crazy. The times that I've had them test me to see what's wrong, everything comes back normal so I use deductive reasoning to conclude that it's hormones at play. I just wish these hormones didn't make you feel so bad!

OMG, glad to know I'm not alone!!! Mine has been going on for the past month, shortly after I went off of being on Birth Control. I stopped taking it because I am 42 years old, and that carries its own set of problems at my age. My OB started me on Progesterone, and that's when this horrible ear numbness/pain started. I stopped the progesterone after one month, but unfortunately the ear thing is still ongoing😬.
It has been driving me so crazy, that my PCP ordered a CT scan, blood work etc, and everything has come back negative?!?

Hi, about 10 years ago I suffered the same pain. I went to Dr's, two dentists, hospitals in absolute agony over a 12 month period to be told I had gingivitus ( my teeth n gums are perfect) to name just one thing. No tablet touched the pain, I lost over two stone in weight and was a painful 7 stone as eating triggered it. Eventually a lady who worked with the elderly suggested I had neuralgia, my doctor greed. My symptoms were so obvious but no professional clicked. I had epilepsy tablets and pain stopped immediately. Took for two weeks and stopped. I've had a couple of lapses, today being one. Back on tablets and should be fine.
I did contact sports as a kid and possibly this caused it by a blow to the face. I do grind my teeth when stresses so that may also trigger it. A trip to the hygeinist triggered it also as he was a bit rough. Every visit to the dentist I make them aware as it can bring it on.
