Excessive Yawning and Constant Need to Breathe Deep

Posted , 480 users are following.

For the past few days, I've been yawning a lot, much more than average (once every few minutes I feel the need). If I'm not yawning I'm breathing in as deep as I can to get similar "satisfaction". Often I cannot get the "satisfaction" from these and so the urge grows and grows, meaning it can get quite uncomfortable. When I do manage it, the urge is back a few seconds later. This is whether I'm tired or not, almost all day.

I'm not particularly anxious about anything in particular, and get the same amount of sleep as before this started.

This also happened at some point within the past year which continued for a month or two if I remember correctly.

Does anyone have any idea what it is or how to make it a bit better?

Thanks.

    Hi Everybody,

I feel with all of your suffering from this, I am as well. I am doing research and vocal cord dysfunction could be the thing we have.

Besides that I started having this shortness of breath after I started drinking lots of alcohol(and another friend of mine after having had a bad trip from drugs). These kind of things can cause Food Intolerances. Either histamine, lactose, gluten, or anything else. I know that lots of alcohol can cause histamine intolerance. I am going to test my blood on all intolerances. Maybe also worthed for you guys, to give that a shot.

    Good luck!!

    Best,

What blood test would that be? I never heard of an intolerance test.

Your body can react with symptoms if it can not handle certain foods. You can be intolerant for certain things. e.g. Gluten, Histamine, Lactose etc. I asked my doctor specifically for histamine intolerance. And he said shortness of breath is not a symptom of that. But there are other intolerance , such as Gluten, Lactose etc.

After 20 years I have suffered terribly, and this brings me to situations of memory loss, confusion, and a lot of symptoms

And after I studied it from all directions

There is a psychotic part of unconscious respiratory OCD

    It comes with high serotonin

    It worsens with heartburn

The solutions to this are not simple at all but the direction should be

First of all, we all have experience in all kinds of treatments to reduce OCD without increasing it

Second, it reduces serotonin, such as ciprohyptidine

I forgot to add one thing

    Stress cell therapy can help

Anyone who can try and say if it helped bless God

    Hi All,

I can recommend you all to find a good doctor that has a holistic view of the whole body, and get everything checked. All organs, blood, everything. My doctor said, on forums and google you find information, but only the right information in 3% of all cases. There are SOO many causes for shortness of breath.

The first thought of my doctor after my whole body has been researched is: "Mitral valve prolapse". The shortness of breath for me has to do with my heart most probably. I will go to a specialist to research more.

    Good luck everybody!

    Best,

    Claire

I’m trying to think when was the first time I experienced this. It was maybe 15 years ago, I was 25 then. It used to occur more frequently then. The first onset of this yawning syndrome I had consulted a doctor at the time. A few test were ran and of course nothing was found. I was healthy then and healthy now. The difference between early 2000’s and now - I can finally google onto a quorum of fellow sufferers and some of you have done a ton of research into this as well as experimentations.

To add to the collection of “may work”, YMMV, something that used to work was running and getting my respiration rate pretty high. It worked for me in the beginning very well. One or two short, 5, 10 minute runs would make symptoms go away, sometimes for a day and sometimes for long stretches, as in multiple months.

I’ve had less of these symptoms as time went on, and I assumed this is not a danger to my life so I’ve been ignoring it. I am having the symptoms today, hence my curiosity about it. Last time of these symptoms must have been 1 or 2 years ago. They just come whenever and go away on their own.

Oddly, I do enjoy catching that “satisfactory” yawn. What bizarre machines human bodies are.

For experimentation I also tried holding my breath, it didn’t do much, but it was fun toying with the yawning devil inside. Additionally I tried the Navy Seal breathing technique, also fun.

    SOLUTION!!!!!

I started having this issue Feb 2018 until end of May 2018. I went to 3 family doctors and 1 pulmonologist. They ran X-rays and blood tests and of course everything came back okay. I started to see a chiropractor in Atlanta then moved to Indianapolis and they use this technique called ART (Active Release Techniques) they work with your breathing muscles. I also started eating plant based meals not sure if that helped (I think it did too) but anyways ART has worked wonders for me! NO you do not need anxiety pills! I was told that before too and I never had anxiety I don’t even like taking medicine, I’m all about natural medicine. Anyways wherever you live find a chiropractor that specializes in ART and tell them what your issue is. If you are in Indianapolis search INDY spine Dr.Waters he worked on me since I have been here in Indianapolis. I honestly cried when I started to be able to fully breathe again without having to yawn, I felt normal again.  So PLEASE find a chiropractor that specializes in ART. My breathing issue had stemmed from my diaphragm and it was resolved after months. I thank God my Jesus for all of this, I was crying all the time because I felt like no one could help me.

      Hi Jennifer,

Happy to hear that. How many times of treatment you did and you see the result?

      Regards.Lynn

Hi! I am so happy to hear! May I ask if you had issues with bloating? And more trouble breathing after meals? Did your shoulder or back hurt because of your breathing?
