Feel Like No One Believes Me :(

Anyone else feel dizzy/off-balance every day? I don't think my doctor(s) believe me when I tell them that I feel this way (almost) every day....I've not actually fallen down, but it feels as though I'm swaying even when I'm standing (or sitting) still....in fact, it's almost worse when I'm standing/sitting still....I was talking to someone in the hallway at work yesterday and thought I was going to fall over (although I don't think anyone can actually see me swaying)....I also feel a weird "internal" shaking in my legs sometimes...I've had a ridiculous number of medical tests, and they all came back normal....my doctors have suggested that it's anxiety, but I'm wondering if it might be perimenopause? My periods have been very erratic for the last eighteen months or so (which is about when all of this began happening)....coincidence? Looking for some advice from anyone who has these physical symptoms....how do you get through the days? I'm so frustrated...I just want my life back!!!

Here's something from my own experience that might help you. Over 3 years ago I had much of what you are describing.....realize that only in the past year have I had symptoms that I felt I could actually link to peri-menopause. My dizziness was all day long every day for 9 months. If I bent over to water a plant I would actually fall over. I had no many tests done, thousands of dollars worth, thank goodness for health insurance. I was sent to specialists. No doc could find one thing wrong with me. I went to my GYN and she felt it was not peri-menapausal sypmtoms. Finally, I decided to look at my diet. I went off wheat for 3 weeks, docs normally suggest 8. My dizziness was not gone yet but I was starting to feel better. I then ate wheat and got sicker. When I could see that going off for the limited amount of time did help me I then stuck it out like the docs suggest and at the 9 week mark all my dizziness was completely gone. I have been on a gluten-free diet now for 3 years.

Just recently a doc I spoke to about my adventure with the gluten told me that when our hormones start to change our digestive tract  is effected and he told me that it is possible that this might have been one of my first indicators that my hormones were changing. Of course there is no way to prove it. I have had hormone test and it is not accurate

I awake at 4am every day to pee, then can't get back to sleep. Then my guts start to play up, lots of gurling and popping. I took an Omeprazole, however I have had indegestion pain all day. I ate pasta yesterday and today, cheese and picklet sandwich for lunch yesterday.

I have been feeling weird at work, pressure on my head and getting really stressed as my brain won't function. However I don't get any support as my boss and most are younger and not experiencing menopause. My work is suffering.

Naisygriif - it's the Omeprazole.  I have had a terrible struggle with it.  Your feelings are down to magnesium deficiency most likely.  Medical profession has recognised this, but there are so many vested interests that they won't admit how widespread it is.

Sorry you feel that way.  I am that way too. My life sucks! smile smile. I feel dizzy/light headed every day all day when walking since March 1st.  I have vertigo which is premenopausal symptom.  I have had lotsa blood tests and MRI to rule out anything serious.  My hormones are having a going away party with my body! smile smile. Things will get better.  We just have to go through these motions. sad

Greetings!  I too started those B vitamins (JJs advice) and did wonders for me.  Feeling better and that's a Godsend smile smile. Plus multi vitamin, vitamin D and fish oil capsule.  Should I take calcium too to boost my broken body? smile

I am sorry you (and other's) are going through this. I am also wondering if perhaps magnesium or lack of might have something to do with the above symptoms? I hear it is such an important mineral and apparently we are all not getting enough magnesium. ( it does work in conjunction with calcium). Lots of information on line. It's supposed to also help with anxiety, helps u sleep better, etc, ease frayed nerves, helps with fibromyalgia etc...the list is long...I think that might be worth investigating...

Hi there ... Totally know where you are coming from on this.  I have put up with this for such a long time and so difficult to explain but you have done so pretty well.  My Doc said same anxiety!! It's a nightmare some days are worse than others.  I can't work because of it and no one believes it!! Sorry I'm not more positive but you are not alone with this off balance  sensation and feeling like I am swaying too.  Shops and queue's I cannot and will not do.  It's a horrible time this menopause.  It has hrlped me to know that others are getting same symptoms and it's not my imagination.  Huge hugs to you. Xxxx

      Hi Marlene

so ... in your experience as menopausal, you still have the off balance and anxiety 😥

i am almost almost ( 2 sept) a year no periods,... i thought it was this week but i was wrong, had to get last years diary out of the stash 😀

well i can say my last year of no periods I had bad anxiety until April this year, thats when i started the 150mg B6 and B12 injections, now no anxiety what so ever, my fiesty way and sense of humour has returned brain fog gone.. i get the blip with energy at times, but think thats the heat. its 39 today 😳 also my house has four floors, ummmm

and to the garden its 50 stairs down and back up .. 100 stairs a trip ....

well with having dogs i do that up and down stairs at least 10 times a day so thats 1000 stairs, some work out ... so i put it down to never relaxing and always on the go that the blip comes...

i am happy though and feel liberated that i have got through this, almost...

have researched it for many years... i keep positive and busy and tell myself life is what you make it, and it works for me...

i went shopping earlier its not far, then thought i would go to the garden centre but that was closed today 😳, so I do keep busy and try and occupy my mind..... I always think 'tomorrow i will do this' and have a goal for the day..

First time round meno at 48 felt like I had this permanent flu,it was summer in London felt so shivery, never took a cardigan off ,finally went to dr,gave me some pills, still continued not good, several Drs visits later an old dr I'd not seen said he wondered if the Meno ,took some blood  10 days later ,yes there it was,I had anxiety with it,once I knew what it was,I began to sort myself out,no pills ,just stopped them cold, gradually all settled bar  the flushes, why hadn't one of those other Drs think meno.saved me a lot of grief and worry to my then symptoms, also I forgot the palpatations.scary.

Now to this 2nd lot of meno, same symptoms, but now I'm much older dealing with it,lot harder I've had it,so those few gap years I'm making up for now.its similar to having HRT then stopping only to get meno symptoms far worse, from women I've spoken to,they return to the HRT again,I've not been on HRT med reasons Breast cancer in close family. Plus had breast lump removed in the 80 's and thrombosis pill related in the 70's it's like walking through a minefield on tiptoes.my hat off to you all struggling out there.

It will end hey Jay ,you've done well so far, long may it remain ,have a goal daily, good therapy for us all,you run it not other way round.so go get these good Vits.Done me good Jay ta and relaxxxxxxxx .

      Hi Marlene

      thanks for sharing your experience..

i too cant take HRT and wont.. had endometriosis in my early 30's refused a hysterectomy, and also family history of breast cancer too..

like you say .. and in my eyes, your pumping hormones in you that want to naturally decline, i think its crazy ... its like taking petrol out your car and expecting it to work... its all so contradictory in my eyes..

if we were not meant to have a hormone decline in life it wouldnt happen..

then with HRT the peri symptoms stop as they are confused by added hormones and then when the HRT is not taken poor women get the peri again at a much older age ... not ideal at all.... thats my view ...

no its not easy a natural meno but its what is meant to be, we just top up the vits and hope for the best... 😀

good on ya ... my Vit B. and B 12 and Maca is my saviour and thats suits me just fine...

' where theres a will theres a way'

its all personal choice for us all and i respect anyones personal choice its just not for me the HRT.. i see it in a different light ... something the doctors dont explain...

have a great evening Marlene, lovely talking to you Jayxx
