Okay, so.... I've been getting this feeling like something is stuck in my throat and it's really irritating. I don't know what it is. I can swallow properly and my body feels good but i've been gettin' that feeling where i feel like something is stuck in ther and i'm really scared i don't know if it's cancer or something else serious but i'm really worried and i'm 17 with alot of anxiety from it. I don't know what caused this i was recently sick but i feel great now and it's just this throat irritation. I've looked up alot about it on the internet and alot of people say it's caused by gerd (acid reflux) i don't know if that's the case though but lately i've been getting stomach aches and i really think it is caused by this gerd thing. I'm scared cause i don't know what it really is i just need answers on it so i can stop panicing about it cause everytime i panic about it i get anxeity attacks and it's really not healty for the body to be in panic all the time. I also was losing sleep cause of it but not that much no more i have gotten a good sleep last night which is a good sign. If anyone can talk me through this it would be great cause i'm young and i get scared quickly when my body doesn't feel right, i just don't want this to affect me no more cause i have been missing alot of school cause of it and it's starting to worry me more and more everyday. Thank you for taking your time to read this/
Sincerly,
-kyle.

I know exactly where you are coming from. What helped me though was whenever I feel it I try to eat , for me it is relieved by eating even an apple. I have no pain or difficulty swallowing. It is not severe in the late afternoon or even in the evening.Try to take your mind of it, easier said than done.We will all be healed of this condition someday. Follow your doctors prescription. In the morning when it is usually worse it helps to drink Apple Cider Vinegar with manuka honey in warm water, careful of ACV as it will erode your teeth.Since this is muscular in nature I believe magnesium supplements help me lessen the intensity of it.
I had this February this year after so many goings- on in the family.Initially it felt like there was chicken bone on the right side of my throat, there were days like there's a hair or cloud or the feeling of trying to hold back tears. Mine is on the right side.Try to speak your mind my dear, this is something that occurs to people who I think loves so much and thinks about themselves last, trying to do things on their own.
I try to watch tear jerker movies, listen to sad songs just to cry
and believe me it is very helpful
You are very young to focus on something like this try to go out with your friends, listen to nice music and meditate, pray or relax .when was the last time you soak yourself in the bath tub with all the scented candles and all..in short try to be happy.

I have been fighting globus for almost 5 months now. At first, it was around May of this year when i had several panic attacks due to Health Anxiety. I eventually developed Acid Reflux(GERD). My eating habits also had to do with it. I used to love eating spicy and acidic foods almost everyday. I would also eat during night times like an hour before i go to sleep which is not advicable if you have acid reflux.
So i went to see a doctor (ENT) due to chest tightness having hard time breathing. The doctor told me it was acid reflux. He put me on a 2 week course (Pantoprazole) to treat my reflux. My reflux was gone but one thing i didn't change was my diet. I kept eating spicy foods so after a week, my reflux came back and I could feel the acid even reaching my throat. Later i knew my Acid reflux turned out worse. I continued taking the meds without a doctors prescription. Around 3rd week of june, after playing basketball, i felt like there's something stuck in my throat like there's a golf ball in there. I panicked, thinking i may have throat cancer. All i had in mind was, "I got cancer".
So I set an appointment to see another doctor (ENT specialist). She checked my throat and performed laryngoscopy but found nothing. Her diagnosis was; GLOBUS Hystericus. I was so relieved.
She explained to me what causes globus and how it's being developed. In most cases; Stress, Acid Reflux / GERD / LPR and Anxiety.
I have been keeping myself busy lately because the more you think about it, the more it bothers you. I listen to music, play basketball, working out, watch comedy movies and especially movies that would make me cry. Crying seems to help a lot cause it seems i've been holding back my tears for quite sometime now.
I've got to admit, the lump sensation is still here but i know for a fact im getting better and better everyday.

I've seen your posts on other threads as well.
How long have you been fighting globus?
Someone told me it may take months or even years.

I always seem to give a different answer cause I try not to focus on dates and times etc, just go with whats happening now but Id say its been about three years. This year has been the best - I still think about it everyday but once or twice now maybe, normally morning or at night. Morning always seem to be the worse for me - but that could be a silent reflux thing. I use to think about it all day every day which obviously makes it worse, which then makes the health anxiety worse and they feed of each other. My biggest issue was insomnia from the stress - I mean proper insomnia - 1-3 hours a night sleep and some times none, its was the weirdest time for me. This actually still haunts me a bit 2.5 years later but again its a mental thing, its crazy what you can manifest physically just from you mind! But if you can do it negatively you can do it positively - Im all about the positivity now!
Like I said before, good days and bad days but more and more good days recently.

I have been on two different medication for the silent reflux, I am now afraid to take them because I get anxiety attacks whenever I would take them because I was so paranoid about the lump and not being able to breathe properly. I feel like I am hurting myself more by not taking it but I'm so anxious about being anxious! I never had pantoprazole prescribed though just omeprazole and famotidine.

Aside from globus, I've been experiencing chest tightness for a couple of weeks now, Probably due to some reflux. Just keep yourself busy and do some stuff that would keep your mind busy.
