Feels like something stuck in nose

I'm a 36 year old man from sweden. It all started with sinusitis 9 months ago that didn't go away. In september I had sinus surgery and i thought that would solve my problems but it didn't. The problem is only in one nostril. It feels like a pressure or like something is stuck there. Kind of like i'm deeply congested or like part of my nose has grown together deep inside.. I can't realy explain it. It won't help with nasal spray or steroid nasal spray. Saline rinses won't work either. Even if i can breathe through nose it still feels blocked like deeper inside... My ENT says that my sinuses looks normal. This feeling is consuming me and i hope someone can help me.

Since a month ago my problems has become worse. I don´t know why. I am very dry in my nose with very little mucus and i am having a heavy feeling in my left side of the nose. Sometimes my whole nose hurts to from the nosebone to the tip and end of the septum and a little bit of my upper lip. I can change the feeling by moving my head. Some headpositions it feels more... I wonder if this has something to do with ethmoid sinuses or maybe its a nerveproblem? It feels so sad no doctors are able to tell me whats wrong. Its been almost 2 years now..

Hi, I was wondering if you have found any info out as I am going through the exact same thing and am quite frustrated. The pain goes into the upper part of my mouth on the left side. The bridge of my nose hurts something awful...the top of my head as well my fore head. I've had ct scan and mri...my neuro is saying sinus and the 3 ENTs I've seen say it's nerve so I am getting no where. I did read about cluster headaches but am unsure still on that...ugh

OMG Finally found people with my problem! All the doctors I have gone to in the last 3 years - my ENT, a specialist at Stanford, and 3 ENT surgeons seem to have never seen this problem before. I have found this unbelievable. My problem of feeling like I must constantly blow nose also started after sinus surgery for chronic sinusitis. After the FESS my turbinates became enlarged which dr's seem to believe might be the problem. I have had radio frequency ablation - once on the right side and twice to left. Helped quite a bit on the right, but did nothing to reduce the turbinate on left side. I have had the new Spirox Latera procedure which didn't do much at all. Dr. at Stanford, Dr. Nyak, said my turbinates are huge and recommended another ablation to left side. The ablations, I am told, are not likely to cause ENS. I would do it. In the meantime, I have found the plastic nose stents worn inside the nose (Amazon) totally take away the congested/have to blow feeling. I have tried a few - the Breatheright one is good. Problem is vanity keeps me from wearing outside the house. And the stents at times are not all that comfortable and if I wear too often too long, my nose becomes a little sore, but certainly are helpful, and seems to me should tell the dr's something?? I am working up to trying another ablation on the left side. Have you tried the stents? If it works for you, doesn't that indicate that we just need more breathing space? I would love to hear from you and how you have been doing.
Best, Fran

My ENT said the same thing to me, I had that same problem, its mucus that has it clogged, you need antibiotic, steroid shot is what I had and did the saline rinses twice a day, got all the mucus cleared out.. hope this is some help you're not alone it happens.

Hi tommy, I have almost same symptoms like yours, thankfully it's only in right nostril. Left is completely open, but the problem is the pressure in right nostril makes me uneasy. Mostly during night time. During the day time, I can manage somehow and also the effect is less but night time all my concentration goes to nose. I try some physical exercise and it opens up for few minutes but again falls back into that pressure situation. Saline water doesn't work, head tilting doesn't work either. Wait for the moments when the pressure goes away somewhere in mid-night and then I can sleep within 5 mins. Few days, nose is open and I could sleep easily, but when I wake up for washroom early in the morning 4-5 am, and later when I go to sleep again, pressure start up suddenly. Any way, I am also visiting ENT in next 2 months, who did my deviated septum last year, will update later. Hope there would be some solution to this problem. May be some acupressure would help.

Please do an update. Exactly same issue. Right side at night and all. I am thinking it could be turbinates but strange it's only the right side. My left is completely fine.

Hi Tommy, have the same problem. No sinus infection, did cat scan all ok. They said I have a moderate deviated septum. But I'm finding real pain in my facial area and it feels like an obstruction. I'm am thinking that I am clenching my teeth at night, causing some weird pains in my face and nostril cavity. My facial muscle spasm and I also get ringing in my ears and tight throat muscles. It is also giving me anxiety and worry. I will be meeting with ent surgeon. I will not jump into surgery. A lot people have had septoplasty that do not work and get hit with a huge bill. I will weigh my options. My nose only clogs in the shower with the steam heat and when I wake up first thing in the morning, but not all the time. My ear also gets stuffy with jaw pain and I also get a tearing eye on the side that I clench. Sometimes my teeth hurt as well. Let me know if this what might be. Are you feeling any better? Hope all is well

Sounds like nasal polyps... small growths inside the sinus passages that grow and block sinuses. I have these n cannot taste or smell. It's quite common for people over 40 that suffer from allergies etc... saline n steroid nasal washes can help but have not cured me.
