Fibromyalgia & Breast pain

Hi There, I was just wondering if anyone else suffers from breast pain/tenderness due to Fibro?

I have pain elsewhere as well (thighs, knees, hips) but was really wondering if anyone else has suffered from this? My doctor thinks it is related to my fibro & doesn't think it is anything serious, since it is in both breasts & not in one spot. It is mostly on the sides of my breasts & my ribs are sore as well.

I have, osteoarthritis of my spine, degenerative disc syndrome, (I have 2 discs that's are badly protruding out in my lower back) right disc is trapping right & left nerve & left is trapping nerve on left side. I have sciatica in both legs, irreversible nerve damage to my feet & calves & I have bipolar disorder! I had. Nervous breakdown 2 years ago @ age of 40, to find out that my bowel had pushed through my vaginal wall & stuck to my bladder (I had a Hysterectomy in 2007) I had an anterior repair done last September, my bladder didn't work for over 2weeks & less than 6 months later, it has prolapsed again (not as bad as before) Now it took over 2 years to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia & i have a very high pain threshold,I've had constant chronic pain for over 14 years! I have never felt such pain with the FHM,i can't sleep, ive put weight on,it's made my bipolar worse. On to my breasts,i have always had sensitive nipples but in a good way, the last 2 days the pain I've got in my nipples is horrid, my breasts have swollen, I have to have a bra on to stop them rubbing on my tops, i have pain in my left breast @ the sides & it bloody hurts. I am glad to known that its associated with FHM. I had to say what all my health conditions are as I think losing my dad @ age of 7,being physically & mentally abused by my older sister,I'd get dragged out of bed by my hair & for 33 years i carried around the guilt that is was my faults my dad died. I've had 4 operations done. So I think that's brought on the FHM. I hate it when people look @ me as I dont look disabled, but they don't see me struggling everyday trying to get out of bed everyday or the fatigue i suffer a lot. The fibro fogs i get. But i won't let it get me down. Sorry it's so long & ive gone on,but you have to explain. I actuallyput freeze gel on my nipples earlier to see if it twould work,no. So am waiting for my son to get home as i am going to try ipbrufen gel/cream on them & see if that will help. Will let you all know.xxxx

Pam I ended up in the hospital again 4 weeks ago for the costochondritis  which I thought I was having a heart attack. Called my doctor and asked if I should go to emergency and the receptionist said I will leave a note for the doctor, and I said can't you ask him right away so I know what to do. This time the pain I had was different it was across the breast area and across to the other side with tightness and pressure. I had 3 of them and they lasted at least 1-2 minutes, it was crazy. So after not hearing from the doctor, dumb me I took my Xanax and laid down for 2 1/2 hours then went to emergency when the doctor said go immediately. So that was a 22 hour stay to tell me I didn't have a heart attack and what a nightmare with all the help and a bill of $250 because of my dedutible and the hospital stay was $6900 dollars. CRAZY!!

I'm here in the UK and grummble a lot about the National Health Service, but reading your post about the costs of your treatment, I feel ashamed. Our treatment is paid for by our National Insurance.  We moan about that too!

Wow that is a crazy amount of money. I know costochondritis can play havock with a bunch of symptoms as well. I have a new symptom now & I think it's is from the costo...a buzzing, vibration in my left breast every so often that lasts about 10-15 seconds. It's so bizzare, it doesn't hurt when it happens (altough my breast is sore) Anyone ever have buzzing/vibrations in the breast? Doctor said it's almost most definately muscles doing it....??

Hi Pam..Me to, I have Fribro and a strange tingling in my left breast around the nipple area..Went to doctors as I were concerned as I have had it for 4 weeks..She examined me and said there were no lump. She put the tingling down to Fibro, but on the day I went to the docs, there was no tingling..But since the visit, its back. I apply Savlon cream that does not do much just slight relief. But today its really bad, my clothes are rubbing the area and I could really scratch it..Any ideas would be helpful, except saying go back to see DR which I am..Regards...Anne..

So very glad to have found this discussion. I have fibro and am also going through the menopause. Severe upper back pain for almost 4 months now and horrendous breast pain, mostly outer breast area but sometimes shooting pains through one breast. I've had symptoms of fibro for 28 years and I hate the way a lot of people (including medical profession) still have some doubt as to it's existance, they still see us as hypochondriacs. Today I was feeling not bad, then had shooting pain across my collar bone which of course fuelled the anxiety, it's just crap.

Is this pain only in your one breast jenifer? I usually have it in both, but for the last few weeks in has only been in my left!

Hi pam I suffer alot with breast pain and tenderness in the breast, I spoke to my gp about it. she said it was to do with the fibromyalgia, its 1 of many symptoms unfortunatly for us.

Pam it is probably costochondritis I get it a lot and have went to emergency thinking I was having a heart attack but it was that. Please take care but don't ignore symptoms if it persists.

Doctors believe I have Fibro, I was never formally dignosed. I have pain everywhere and including my breats. Though it hurts more on the left one and under my arm to the nipple. I have been examined and no concerns from the doctors. It got even worse when I started this birth control pill, it has now gotten a tiny bit better since I stopped taking the pill but it still bothers me. I'm going insane.

I know this has been a while, but do you have ichting along with the pain with your boobs? I have bee suffering with pain in my hips, legs, arms and  itchey breast for a good while.. Had my yearly and was all good. I am in pre-menopausal and take hormones for this.. I can't stand to lay on my boobs long and when I get up in the morning the hurt like hell...As some have said when I get going they are not as soar, but itch like crazy... When I try to reach up to get something out of the cabinet, my hips burn/hurt and it takes my breath away. My legs and arms hurt most the time, like they are so heavy and sore, makes it hard to doing anything. I'm always tired and I can't sit or stand to long without hurting in every part of my body..  I also started to feel nauseous and loss of appetite. I just to flipping scared to see another doc..
