Flu like symptoms or perimenoause?

I am so sore all the time. Sometimes it’s my arms and hips but mostly my lower back. I woke up with aches right around where my bra strap would be. It hurts if I’m standing or sitting. Kind of a tingling pain and tightness in my back. Of coarse I look it up and fear for lung disease. Anxiety is the worst. I also get a sore throat right before my almost non existent period. I get dizzy some days and I have dry mouth and sometimes burning tongue. My hands and feet are like ice and I’m often so cold. I’m in blanket now and it’s 72 degrees. My hair falls out when I wash it. It covers my hands. My skin is so dry and cracking. Sometimes my

Gums are so sore. Most of these things I know are from fluctuating hormones but can it feel like someone is hugging you tight around your ribs all day without relief?

Hi Jody,  This sounds like a very low vitamin D level.  I get terrible muscle pain and flu symptoms when I am low on D.

I put in sore gums and burning mouth is a symptom of low B6. Have you tried supplementing? Certainly having low Vit B in general will make anxiety spike.

I have read that maybe this flu like fatigue symptom is from the release of prostaglandins in our tissues and our blood.

Today, I am on 2 day of my period and I have all the symptoms of dysmenorrhea....intestinal cramps, uterus contractions and the pain is radiating down to my thighs like tremulous, diarreah, a little nausea, pain under my ribs like I cannot breath and before my period begins I had the awful flu like fatigue on my legs and swollen calves.

I am experiencing also chills similar to the flu and a feeling like having fever..

Flu like symptoms are a combination between a decrease in estrogen and prostaglandins, I think..

during your period use moisture cream..

only paracetamol helps me at this phase

I am so thankful for this forum. I often panic at the abnormal and painful symptoms that come and go in my body. I wish there was something out there other than the 66 symptom list that was a little more encompassing. In my experience quite a few women I have talked to end up in the ER thinking they are dying. I’ve been there. Thinking my kids will grow up without me and losing weight at a rapid rate at times because I can’t eat. The anxiety is terrible. I am so glad to hear there are others with the same symptoms so I know I’m not alone.

I know and understand exactly how you feel. I have rushed back and forth to the doctor and ER thinking that I was at death's door more times than I can count. It's horrible that there isn't more resources out here for us especially in the 21st century where they are coming up with more and more ways to treat things. You'd think by now they'd have found ways to help us cope with this inevitable transition. I think in large part it's because the medical world by far is still very much a man's world. The male to female ratio of doctors is very high.,meaning there are far more males in this industry than females. Until the females start to take a vested interest in the area of hormones and endocrinology, then we're stuck with the general guidelines set forth by the AMA which is run by men who have no idea what it's like to have periods, give birth, or go through menopause.

    Jody,

I have had pain in my chest, like it's sore deep inside my lungs for no reason. I keep getting a very low grade fever everytime I do much physical work, and sometimes just at bedtime. I am not sick in any way.

My hips on the outside of my butt ache all the time, I can hardly stay asleep, the pain wakes me up at night constantly.

I am SO tired for NO reason. Lathergic.  Yes, I resorted to google and now I have lung cancer, and pneumonia!  LOL!!

Yes yes yes! My pain is in the same places as well. Something my dr told me. If you can push on your chest and recreate the pain it’s not internal. I do this all the time. It’s comforting when you find the pain and you are like okay it’s not my heart. Lol

If you can push on the spot and it hurts then the pain is muscular and not internal.

It’s definitely hormonal. Ever since my periods have gone from 7 days and heavy to 2 days of spotting I have all sorts of pain in my back and chest and ribs and my neck is so stiff. It feels like it needs cracked all the time.

The doctors always say everything is anxiety. Yes your hormones cause anxiety to be worse but who would blame a person for seeing the Dr for actual chest pain or dizziness. I know for awhile I was in and out every week demanding answers and paying $40 every time which I don’t have. I looked it up and nobody has ever written a book about their experience in this whole mess. I’m sure a lot of women would read it and save them from thinking the worst.
