Funny tingling all over body

Hi everyone!

For about 6 weeks now, off and on, I've had this weird tingling all over my body.

At times it'll be concentrated in one place (like pins and needles) in both my feet or a hand or a shin. And then other times like tonight, it'll be like little sudden twitches of tingling...almost like a little buzzy, tingling insect. So tonight, buzz on my top lip and then my scalp and then my big toe and then my thumb and then my cheek. I go to scratch myself to make it stop (though it's definitely on the inside....not like a skin condition).

I went to the doctors about 4 weeks ago and he was very dismissive. Said it wouldn't be anything serious as neurological stuff would involve chronic persistent pins/needles in one specific area. I was texted for thyroid and glandular fever (as I mentioned I'd had a really bad cold and sore throat and that's when it seemed to have started). Both tests came back normal.

It's very annoying. I do have sciatica and wonder if that's causing it? The little tingles all over are keeping me awake right now!

Perhaps I should go back to the docs? To be honest, he made me feeling like a raving hypochondriac last time (despite the fact he could see from my records is not been to the doctors in over 10 years, apart from an A&E visit for a broken foot!).

Any ideas?

Hello everyone, came across this thread after researching online. I’ve been tingly all over my body now for the last week. The sensation started about three weeks ago when I started taking medication for high blood pressure. My blood pressure is fine so I’ve been off the medication for three days now. I am hoping the tingling will subside but as of right now I feel like I have  the sensation of bugs crawling on me.   It’s a horrible feeling and I’m not sure how to even describe it to my doctor. I went in this morning and they’re checking my vitamin D and B 12 doctor says it could be because my electrolytes are low? Honestly I think she is just trying to rule out the minor things she says if everything come back OK she wants to send me for an ultrasound?

Oh my. I hate that pins and needles feeling that moves. Have you ever tried holistic medicine? Chiropractors often specialize in the whole body treatment. My husband was free of sciatica pain in just 2 treatments, naturally.

I too have tingling all over body, it moves and comes and goes. Seems very intense after eating and exercising.

I am thinking it is medication, I am taking Prozac to wean off Pristiq. I am hoping it will subide when this is out of my body.

The tingling also make me itch.

    Very annoying and miserable.

Well they have done a full panel on my blood work and all my levels are fine. The doctor change my Xanax to another non-addictive anti anxiety medication,  I have to take anxiety medication because this is driving me crazy. I’ve been dealing with the tingling on the legs since June and then all of a sudden this month it’s like all over my body sometimes my scalp. The doctor said if it was anxiety it would be on my face and hands but it’s not it’s all over my legs sometimes on my buttocks  sometimes on my back and on my arms. My doctor has made referrals for MRI and to a neurologist to figure out what it is at this point. So in the meantime I am laying here struggling.

      Amanda hi again

Please let me know what the MRI and/or any other test reveal.

      Thank you

My MRIs came back OK nothing showed what was causing my symptoms. And the meantime I am dealing with extreme anxiety and now on medication. I have no answers for my symptoms which seem to be getting worse. I have twitching now my muscles and when I relax I could feel it more. I keep losing weight because I have no appetite due to my anxiety. It’s very frustrating and I don’t know what else to do.

I think a moderator keeps deleting my posts??  Anthony William, medical medium, his books explain tingling, battled with it for 11 years, he's amazing, i highly recommend them, they have the answers to so many things!

Can you find this book from Anthony William on line? Amazon? Or do I have to go to the bookstore thanks for the information.

Moderator, why on earth would you be deleting posts that could help people??  IT was on a site such as this that a woman named kimberly told me about Anthony William and i finally got some help after years of misery? What on earth is motivating you?  Who are you to decide what helps another person, if you have all the answers then why does this site exist?

Thank you Grace for this discussion, My daughter and I are also suffering from this unknown conditions, my daughter who is 11 years old began exhibiting symptoms 2 years ago, i.e., tingling on her feet and calves but it has progressively gotten worse, she know has the tingling and crawling sensations on and off over her entire body.  Less than a year later I also began experiencing the same symptoms, it also began on my feet but has gotten progressively worse, I know have the sensations on and off over my entire body, I'm 42 years old.  The psychological effect it is having on me is also profound (depression, anxiety, difficulty falling and staying asleep, inability to focus at work, withdrawn and not finding enjoyment in activities that I used to, irritability).  The feeling is more intolerable in the summer than the fall and winter.  It is difficult when clothing rubs against the areas that I'm having the sensations.

We are both healthy otherwise and have had no injuries.  We have both had blood test which have come back fine/normal.  Doctors have told us it's psychological as we moved from our home country to Switzerland 3 year ago.  There is a GP that has told us that he suspects that it may be an allergy but there are no typical visible signs on our skin.  We have an appointment to meet with that GP this week, I think he wants us to go to an allergist.  After reading all of the comments on this discussion, I haven't seen anyone explore that option.

I am more concerned about my psychological well-being as a result of this condition than anything else.  I try not to think about it and focus on it but that is difficult to do.

We are currently living in Switzerland.  I think it may be useful if persons say where they are located.

    I will provide an update.

    Thanks again.

hi all, so glad I found this post!!! I am not alone. I have similar symptoms. I have had every test under the sun and my doctors are puzzled.

Does anyone have any updates on a diagnosis or what has worked for you to get the tingling to stop?

    thanking you in advance

hi I would be interested in any updates too as I am experiencing the same symptoms, pins and needles/tingling everywhere, face, mouth, hands etc. some sharp pin prick sensations in random both sides of my body. I am menopausal/post menopausal and have some neck pain sometimes for some time

however I have recently been on a low dose.of sertraline (zoloft) and now tapered myself off as my blood pressure went up and eye pressure. I.noticed tingling in back of my neck and breast to start with but this has all increased since stopping zoloft

I wonder how many others had discontinued antidepressants prior to experiencing these symptoms?

hoping it will stop soon but anxious about what it's triggered or what else it could be
