Gastric band - next week!!! Ahh

Hello!

Any post op gastric banders out there?! 

I've got my op on 24th and starting to get a bit nervous but very excited about the future! 

I'm on the milk diet and finding it quite tough, not as bad as I thought but I'm struggling with the salty drink as I can't stand gravy or anything like that!

Please help!

    Hi

    You will be fine. Being a specialist nurse in bariatric care I obviously work with many successful patients. Keep up wih the fluid diet as it does have its benefits and from experience many people do happen to lose alot of weight pre-surgery.

      Thank you. I have been put on a 7 day pre op diet of 850 cals. It doesn't have to be liquids. 

      I am just very anxious & scared of the possible pain.

      Thank you :-) can I ask if everyone has to inject themself daily to prevent blood clots? 

      I really don't think I could do that!

      I believe its only if you have a medical condition with a risk of dvt. Anyway someone else could do it for you.

      You will hsve some abdominal discomfort and shoulder tip pain. This can be eased with pain killers and remedies. Let's face it no pain no gain.

      Thank you,  yes I am prepared for the pain, I'm sure I've been through a lot worse!

      It will be well worth it xx

      Ive nit heard of that company or surgeon. I take it becsuse your obviously not local to me. There is no pain as such, just abdominal colic which is curable with remedies.

      Hi sorry it's me again!

      Please can you give me some advice?

      I always suffer with tonsil stones and I have them still now, I don't have a cough or anything just small white things in my tonsil crevice, will I still be able to have the op on Friday? 

      I have them all the time so they will most probably be there on Friday!

      Although having suffered with your tonsilsthus will not be a problem for Friday.
