just  had a text saying they have all the information they need now it's going to the decision maker, I haven't been for an assessment do you think it has just gone to the decision makers, worried sick here. quite quick on sent the form in 2 weeks ago

It's either good in that they were able to give a positive report to the DWP based entirely on the PIP2 form that you completed and the evidence that was sent in.

Or, there was no need to get you in for a face to face assessment as in the assessors opinion based on the PIP2 form you completed you were never going to get enough points for the DWP to make an award.

I don't envy you at all.

I couldn't cope with filling the PIP form in, never mind the face to face assessment or indeed the Tribunal. Waiting and not knowing would put my health back years - hence why I opted out of the transition!!

Sorry to ask but I'm in the same position you were in. They DWP received my forms on the 1st September and I received a text on the 22nd September saying they've got all the info they need to make a decision.

I contacted them because I requested a home visit on my form but the lady I spoke with at the DWP said report had come back and I'd had my assessment. I said I've not had any assessment and when she looked at the notes it says I was not required to attend and they can make a decision based on the information given and the evidence sent in .I'm guessing now you've had the decision.? It's 3 weeks this Thursday (13th October) since the report was sent back to them from ATOS and they said over the phone around 3 weeks .Do we get a text with the outcome if we've qualified?

It seems to have gone through very quick

      Thanks Antonio

I aparently am not entitled to pip as and I quote "have been stable for 18 months on continual medication the with no replapses"

Erm... I've had my meds changed atlest 3 times, I am not aloud diazepam as I can't be trusted with it.. So

I've presented at a&e atlest four times and i am under a psychiatrist every few months and whenever if emergency

The form says I was calm kept eye contact and showed no anxiety.

I was shaking crying snapping and she 'advised' me she could stop the meetings any time she liked if I didn't answer her questions

    My mum spoke for me..

They also said my peak flow was normal.. Which amuses me somewhat as that day my asthma was bad.. So had they actually checked it.. I may have gained one-off those magic points they hold onto so strongly - what my peakflow has to do with bipolar and anxiety I've no idea. But hey any point I can get right?

Oh also the fact my medication has to be kept from me to prevent my impromptu overdoses.. Gained me 'nil Poi'

I'm taking them to tribunal if I have to I've never read so many lies than I did on my assessment form, it was that different to the truth and my condition my mum had to double check my Ní number to ensure it was my assessment.

So make sure u ask for mandatory reconsideration in writting... Because they expect ppl not to n likely hood is ull win.. I was told to do the following by fightback..

"Hi you need to contact Dwp asking for a copy of the assessors report and state that you would like a reconsideration and you will do this in WRITING and you will be providing more medical evidence to support your claim. If you ring they will try and do it over the phone there and then with you which is what you do not want as there is a likelihood you will fail.

When you are completing your reconsideration you must list clearly on a copy of the assessment/decision notice what you disagree with, i.e if they stated you walked across the car park when really you were dropped off at the door etc, describe how you arrived and get supporting statements to substantiate this, plus if you had someone with you explain they are willing to act as witness to the assessment. Check the decision notice to see what evidence they have used to make the decision, it is often the case that they ignore medical evidence sent in or will not explain correctly why they have discounted it. If the medical evidence is not listed and they seem to have relied solely on the assessment report, then you need to tell them. Send in any proof to contradict their findings and obtain copies of any specialist reports you are missing, provide any new appointments, complete a Day in Life Diary, which should state clearly what you are unable to do each day. I would also suggest you word your concerns about the assessor/assessment if you have any.

Send all this recorded delivery to the address on your decision letter attaching a copy of the decision notice with your reconsideration making sure it is within the 28 days of the letter. Keep a copy of everything then ring them after 10 days to ensure they have it all logged. If you get anything else then send that off also making For The Attention of the Decision Maker marking it Urgent.

When a reconsideration request is received, a second DWP decision maker will look at the decision, including any additional evidence or information that has been provided to decide if the original decision is fair and consistent with the evidence, however this could mean your award can rise or you risk having it lowered or losing it altogether. If they overturn the decision, payments will be backdated to the original decision. If the reconsideration is not favourable, then get in touch, we can help appeal further however we cannot write reconsideration letters as they are personal to you. Many decisions are reconsidered in favour of the claimant so give as much detail as you can and don't wait for the call to send information. "

Hi. I was just wondering if anyone could help? I'm 20, with a 9 month old baby. I suffer with bipolar disorder and a string of heart conditions; partial right bundle beach block, ectopic heart beats etc.' However my main concern here is my Mh. I was claiming Esa and Pip a few weeks back I had an healthcare assessment with Atos regarding my esa. The decision was to disallow my claim, there decision was ridiculous 'I'm confident' when this really is not the case.

However, money from income support was in fact higher than what I had from esa so I was not too fussed and didn't appeal just got on with it. Then it came to my pip assessment. I went to the appointment the 'nurse' literally asked me when I was diagnosed 'Feb 2014,' if I smoke, drink, take recreational drugs 'no.' She asked how often I see my psychiatrist and cpn this was 5 minutes into the appointment due to relapsing I began to cry and we spoke deeply about the effects it is having on my mental health and life, about my son etc.' The appointment didn't last long at all because of this, the nurse said 'she was very concerned for my mental state and mental health' and ask if I would sign a piece of paper meaning she could contact my GP, cpn and psychiatrist to get help. I did. She told me I could leave and to not worry about the report and life as it would all get sorted. Then I went home and since, I have been told my claim has been disallowed? I will definitely be appealing this due to this being completely wrong! Now it has impacted my income support also due to loosing my severe disability premium etc' I'm having to sell my car as I cannot afford the insurance and I am very very anxious. I am due to see my doctor on Thursday and have already discussed sectioning with my cpn. Is there anything anyone can advise on this matter? How long appeals take? What's likely to happen? Etc? Really could do with some help thank you.

Below is what I was told. Also there should be someone linked to the hospital to help if u have a psychiatrist, they've stopped mine too almost every word In my assessment is a lie.. I was aparently calm when in fact I was shaving having panic attacks and the assessor threatened to end my assessment because.. "i can do whenever I like"

Fightback (on Facebook) can help them gave emergency following advise... Okay thank you so much for that I'll definitely take that on board. I won't lie the stress of this on top of my relapse and everything else I've got going on is making me suicidal. I'm struggling atm so your help is really appreciated. Do you know how long appeals/reconsiderations etc can take? I.e. I put in for reconsideration, I think I have read it takes around a month? Then if they say no I can put in for an appeal but how long could that take? I'm desperately looking for ways to keep finances afloat but I'm just sinking more and more. Thank you for your help though!

I'm desperately looking for ways to keep finances afloat but I'm just sinking more and more.

I know that it's no consolation to you but there are 1,000's if not 10's of thousands that are either in the same boat as you and more often than not, in a worse position.

When dealing with the DWP patience and lots of it are needed.

As a quick example when I lost my DLA in the transfer to PIP it resulted in a 50% drop in my weekly income. Not only have the DWP put me in a precarious position with my mortgage but I now have to find money for a large debt that was caused entirely by the DWP in paying me for longer than they should have. And to top it off because I was seriously ill and unable to deal with DWP matters they stopped my benefits for 7 years which cost me over £20,000 in lost benefits!
