Hi,
I'm new here..I'm claiming PIP as I can't work due to my bipolar,I had the ATOS assessment a month ago and a text from DWP a week ago to say they have all they need and are making a decision,I have been beside myself with worry, anybody assure me at all that it won't be much longer?
Thank you

Hi Tracey,
I got my PIPS assessnment on 4/8/16 and a decision was made on 17/8/16 and I am waiting on the decision letter. I have brain issues, chronicback pain, mental health issues with suicidal thouyghts. Do you think I will qualify. They won't tell me the decision over the phone

You should qualify, it's a total hit and miss depending on who did the assessment.
I have bipolar and they gave me 3 points said I don't quality. So I've asked for a mandatory reconsideration.. Ive had a social worker Do this this for me and he says I should have been given atlest 19 points.. Which is equivalent of what I had as dla
The 'nurse' lied on my form says I was calm and conversed when infact I was having a massive panic attack, crying, shaking and she threatened to end the assessment 3 times,threateningly.. They even Included physical assessment that was never done even Included a peakflow which ironically was wrong even though it wasn't any reading off mine.
So just be prepared and if they don't grant it... Request a mandatory reconsideration in writting.

Unfortunately many can't face the thought of fighting the DWP and give up.
I have had 22 years of experience of the DWP and of the 16 face to face assessments I have had 88% of them resulted in fairy tales being reported to the DWP!
If I have to have another I'm through with the whole damn lot of it.

I understand that many people can't face it but it's always worth suggesting so people know they have the option.

If they ask u to anything physical and u can't because of yr condition and pain. You can on the grounds say yr not able. Even just slight movement and they are putting down pple can run up the stairs. These pple are paid and trained to make assumptions. Read blogs they all say the same. I have been a witness to this my self.good luck

Hi guys,
I am just after abit advice on whether anyone has been in a similar situation,
I was awarded PIP in June 2015 - June 2017 I then received a PIP form to fill out in May of this year, I filled this out and returned it, (my condition has not improved if anything deteriorated) I then received an awared letter in Aug, saying iv been awarded for the period of Aug 2016 - Aug 2026.
In Sept I was asked to attend a F2F assessment which I attended and discussed my condition with the HP, this was done early sept, I have had 1 letter saying they have all the evidence and will make a decision, I have heard nothing since.
I can't understand what division is being made given I was sent out an award letter in Aug.
Has anyone else been in this situation before?
Any advice would be greatly appreciate,
Cheers.
Kev

Yeh I know and I don't belong the reason they give for doing this . This has not always been the case

Reviewing PIP awards 1 year before they're due to end has always been the case. Maybe DLA was different but certainly not PIP.
