How are you all today! I have a horrible sore throat but don't feel too bad in myself apart from usual aches and pains.

Had a phone call today to say my sister is going into a hospice sometime today as pain is worse. She is unable to eat and drink very well.

Its raining here glad we got the folding camper emptied before the rain so now I can take it to leicester tomorrow to be repaired.

Tess when my Gran went in a hospice it was a really nice place and they looked after her really well. I hope your sore throat hasn't developed into anything else. Enjoy your stay at Buxton. I've heard its a nice place to go to but never been myself.

Lindy I hope your brother is recovering well and that you are well too.

Linda Ses and Di hope you are all well and not letting this awful weather get you down.

I have spent most of the weekend cooking meals to put in the freezer for the days when i don't feel up to cooking. My brother is going to do some for me tomorrow (he is living with us as he has a frame round his leg to try and get the bone to heal properley).

I've even managed to make some cakes don't think they will last for long with 3 hungry kids around.

Sad news my sister died this afternoon with her children with her. :cry: Its so sad that she didn't make her 57th birthday on Friday.

I have been to Buxton before Lizzy it is a nice place to go. My sore throat is still lingering and not sure if it might be due to my acid reflux.

Well need to go and make some tea now for when Stewart gets home from work.

So sorry about your sister :cry: How is your Dad coping, its awful when a son or daughter dies before their parent, its happened in our family, and it seems hard for the parents to understand and cope with. Still he has you and your family for support. Will be thinking of you all. Sad she didn`t make her birthday.

Thanks Linda. Dad is coping ok have rung him twice today and going to ring again shortly. Was such a shock although knew it was going to happen. :cry:

Good you can still get away, it will be nice for you especially as the weather is due to change for the better on Thurs.

Thanks, we are not too bad, occupational therapist is coming this afternoon to show us the plans for the wet room So looking forward to that, it can only be a good thing. Just hope when plans have gone through its not too long to wait before work gets started.

Tess, sorry for ur loss. Big hug for u .

My brothers surgery went very well. The ventillator was removed after a couple of hours and he was up for a short walk yesterday. My sister in law says if he keeps improving, he may get home on Tuesday. So fingers crossed.

Short and sweet. Just wanted to keep u`s posted.

Thanks Lizzy also for thinking about me. Yes looking forward to going away for a few days. The funeral is a week on Thursday so will be back in plenty of time. It is in Leicester so will take us about an hour and fifteen minute drive to get there. Hope it is in the morning as don't know what time yet. Much better than having to wait most of the day. :cry:

so sorry tess about ur sister just managed to catch up on all the posts..... its so sad life when a death happens... i adore my sister(just the two of us) so i can get to grips how u are feeling.. so bug HUGS to u hun xx

lindy must have missed ur post about ur brother... what happened? saw ur post about him doing ok and hoping to get home on tuesday.. so hope that happened its always nice to have ur loved ones at home

well went to my pain management nurse yesterday and she has helped me structure my meds more.. adding in more oral morphine during the day to keep me going always having some pain releaf in my body.. so will c how that goes..

john didnt get to his app for his blood/bowel app as they didnt send him the laxative and letter of where to go on time, as they only called him on the phone so he has to call his doc today to try and rearange it... thats hospitals for ya eh..

well the sun is shining at the mo here in edinburgh but i m sure the rain will follow shortly...

Brother is getting home today. Di it was a pre planned op. He started getting chest pains and breathlessness etc on exersion about a year (maybe more) ago. So after various tests, they found probs and decided the op was the best way forward.

Planning to get through to see him weekend at the latest.

Good news with your brother going home Lindy! Its not been that long since his operation. :lol:

My sore throat is still lingering on. Not sure if it is due to pollen as I get hayfever, acid reflux or maybe is just a cold. Will leave it until the end of next week if no better then pop and see the doctor. That will be about two weeks. :cry: Hopefully will be gone before then.

It is a lovely warm sunny day here so far. A bit blowy but warmer wind than we have had. :lol:
