Glad your brother is doing ok, Lindy, it will be good for you to see him at the weekend. Ray had a by-pass about 20yrs ago, it made such a difference, so hope it does the same for your brother.
Tess, sorry you still have your sore throat, maybe the weekend away will help. Hope your family are doing ok following the news about your sister
Di, how awful for you and John not to get the appointment hope you`re both ok and don`t have to wait too long for another one. Hospitals eh :!:
Lizzy hope you are ok and Ses we`re all wondering how you`re doing, hope everything is ok
Well, we have had all our small adaptions finished today, things like window opener so we don`t have to stretch, hand rails at front and back doors, just little things but they make a difference. Feeling a bit more positive about things now and hoping that the lift and shower don`t take too long.
Take care all

Its good you are feeling more positive now Linda with all the adjustments to your house.
Yes family are doing ok. My two brothers went over to Leicester to see my nieces and nephew to help them sort out the funeral arrangements.
Funeral is now at 11am in Leciester on Thursday. Taking my Dad with us so have to leave about 8.30am to pick him up so we get at their house in plenty of time. Her children and partner have decided they didn't want us to spend to much on flowers. So we are going to take some flowers ourselves and also give some money towards pancreatic cancer charity. We have also as there are five of us agreed to pay £25 pounds each to help with the costs of the funeral tea. My sister had saved 200 pounds that she was going to use and take five grandchildren out somewhere but never got to do it. Her children were going to use that money but we said no and we would pay. They need to keep that money and still take the grandchildren out somewhere for the day.
Well off to Buxton in Derbyshire in a couple of hours. Up early as couldn't sleep with throat and now got a dry tickly cough that doesn't help.
Will catch up with everyone when I get back.
Hope you all have a good Bank Holiday weekend. Get some rest and sun hopefully!

The sun is shining.
Tess hope you have a good weekend in Buxton and that the fine weather you are going to have helps clear up that sore throat.
Ses hope you are OK have you managed to move your appointment earlier.
It would seem round here 6 weeks is the standard length of time you have to wait for hospital appointments.,
Linda glad you are getting the jobs done around the house. Having a shower installed was the best thing we ever did. I'm sure the lift will make a big difference too.
Lindy wishing your brother all the best. Being home makes a big difference when you have been in hospital you can actually get some sleep at home. Lindy hope you are well too.
Di has changing how you take your meds helped. I'm sorry John didn't get his stuff in time for the appointment. I had a camera at xmas and followed the instructions on the laxative. Said they would work within an hour 4 hours later I was getting worrid nothing. Then it was awful daren't leave the bathroom like that for about 3 hours. So make sure he stays close to the loo. Hope you get a new appointment quickly.
Well taking this drink is not helping with the IBs so upped the dose on the practise nurses say so and still not working. I have had no instruction on how to manage anything. Is there anyway of stopping the dizziness? Has anyone worked out how to stop the headache? Its always there never had one in my life till 23 months ago. I'm also fed up of the constant irritated bladder how do you calm it down. Stopped all drinks apart from water. Then the slightest upset seems to make my legs just go stiff like boards and they don't want to work. My gp was very sympathetic said pull yourself together and get on with life and learn to live with it. I would if I new how to even start dealing with these problems.
My 2nd daughter finishes school today what a challenge that has been she has been nearlly expelled twice in the last 18 months as she has wanted to stay at home and look after me when I have been really ill. I'm just praying that she doesn't do anything awful today as she has hated the last 4 months.I'm all tense I have even turned my phone off so that the school can't ring me. She had 30 mars bars in her bag one day brought them on special offer to share with her friends the school rang me and asked me to see the head when I got there they wern't interested in the mars bars but wanted to talk about the infected gash on her arm. I think they thought I had done it. Best thing was she had done it at school climbing on the roof of the bike shed and fell off into a prickly bush. She couldn't tell them that or she would have been in more trouble. They were very concerned about the mars barsi think they thought she had an eating dissorder she just happens to be very generous, caring, oversensative very loving and loves a good prank.
Got to go now. Take care everyone and enjoy the long weekend.

Well it was sunny when I woke up but now its really cloudy and I thought we could have a BBq today.
I hope my daughter will go to college in Sept. Shes a straight A student and it would be such a shame if she went out to work. I know if thats what she wants I will have to accept it. I'm hoping her music friends will encourage her to College. She plays for the County Youth Orchestra the Oboe.
Di I hope John's appointment goes well. Its a long time to wait when you know something is wrong.
Not many at home this week so hopefully a quiet household. One daughter at Uni, another camping in Devon with friends, awkward daughter revising at home and my son also has exams so he will be revising too. My brother says hes going to look for a job next week ready for when they take the frame off his leg in a couple of weeks. He has been living with us for 8 months now it was only ever for a couple of months which is now putting a big strain on the household.
I have spent most of the weekend asleep where does it all come from?
Linda, Lindy, Di, Ses and Tess hope you are all enjoying your bank holiday weekend.
Tess hope the sun is shining in Buxton.
Take care all.

Good to catch up with you all again. Had a good weekend. Some rain in Buxton on Friday. Sunny Saturday but cloudy and bit of chill in wind. Lovely and hot Sunday . Went for a five mile walk with Stewart on Saturday when it was cooler. Didn't go walking on Sunday as too far and too hot for me and needed a rest so stayed at van and read some books lol. Lovely to actually sit outside for a change. Stewart went off for walk into Castleton Lizzy there and back. Walked about 12 miles but don't no how he does it lol. Did him a pack up and he sat ona hill called Mam Tor and texted me to let me know he was ok. On way back today made a detour and went to see my son and fiancee who live in Westwood, Nottingham. Didn't get home until about 4 o clock now trying to get some washing done lol. Got Sophie & Molly tomorrow my two little granddaughters will be busy. Although better really for Sophie as she has Molly to watch playing to keep her occupied as well. Got a big bubble catcher going to play with them both.
Lizzy your dr doesn't sound very sympathetic like the one I saw. Ive got a good one now but have not seen him since December last year as luckily not been too bad. What you can do for the irritable bladder is try not to go so often. I know that sounds silly but was told the more you go the more you irritate the bladder and then it is a vicious circle. If you need to go try and wait for five minutes the first time or as long as you can then gradually increase it. Also some pelvic floor exercises can also help. I know it is a nuisance as I have the same problem. That is why we went for a motorhome to travel about in. Although I still worry about how much I should have to drink before going out walking lol. Hope you can get some help with it. I was given some tablets but found the side effects were making me feel worse so don't take them anymore.
Di good news John at long last going to be seen. Will keep my fingers crossed for you
Hope you are ok Lindy, Linda. Also Ses how are you hope you are getting the answers you need.
Lizzy I hope your daughter does decide to stay on at college especially with her musical talent. Like you say you can't force them into something they don't want to do. The more we say the opposite they will do. You have got a busy household with your family and your brother staying.
Take care everyone.

Still no sign of the sun.
Tess Castleton is a beautiful place. Sounds a bit like our holidays I try and keep up the first day and then end up staying back at the tent sleeping while everyone else goes off out. The mobile phone helps as they always text me to tell me what they are up to. Have you done the caves at castleton?
Thanks for the bladder advice will try that. If I go to docs about it they just give me antibiotics 4 times now.
Have you used the bubble machine before? I would love one as I find bubbles so pretty. All the different colours
Lindy hows your brother doing?
Hope your all well.
Take care everyone.

Yes went to the caves in Castleton before we had the children so about 28 years ago though. Used a bubble machine once before but haven't got it now. This was a big ring and a tray you pour the bubble mix in.
Had the girls today Sophie is 8 months old now and was really good. Molly is five and always cuddling her sister. Sophie is always laughing at Molly and following her around. Sophie is getting frustrated at the moment as not crawling but wants to get to things and can't. She seems to crawl backwards. Molly did that also and never crawled but just went into walking when she was a few months older.
Was not as tiring as I thought with two as Molly keeps sophie entertained. Think I will sleep well tonight though.
Hope the bladder info helps you.
Hope everyone else is doing ok today.

Hope your are all not in too much pain today. What a cold, windy and dull miserable day we have here. Looks like rain will soon be added to the list.
Well been out today to get my flowers for the funeral tomorrow. m
I do hope the sun will come out tomorrow and it not be a wet one.! I think funerals seem worse when it is a miserable day. There not good at anytime. Got to leave about 8 to pick my dad up and go to Leceister for funeral at 11.
It is a strange week with having the funeral then going out on Saturday with my son to celebrate his birthday and have a meal.
Well take care everyone and catch up soon.

Hope the sun comes out for you tomorrow, tess and everything goes as well as these things can, be thinking of you. Having the girls will have taken your mind off things for a while. My daughter has all sorts of bubble machines and things, she uses them to distract the liitle ones when they are having treatment etc.
Have had a really awful week just about everything that could kick in, kicked in, irritable bowel, migraine, stiffness, fatigue the list goes on :!: I thought I was doing so well pacing myself while trying to prepare things for our adaptations. Obviously not :!: Recovering, slowly, just feel really tired and not up to doing much. That will teach me to be more careful.
Well, hope Di, Lizzy and Lindy are all ok. Ses hope you`re not suffering too much, haven`t heard from you for a while.

Thanks Linda looked at the weather and at least it looks as if it could stay dry.
Poor you try to get a good rest. We all do too much then pay for it later.
Was good to have the girls and like you said it did take my mind of things.
They were so good bless them.
Going out on Saturday for a meal for our eldest son's birthday so looking forward to that.
Do you know when anymore of your work will be done on your house.

Thanks for asking. All the small jobs have been done. Plans for the wet room and lift go before the panel for approval next week. Then we have to wait for the council to carry out the work. Lol That will be the worst part and the part that takes the longest I`m guessing at least a couple of months :!: Once they start, they are taking the wall down which joins the bathroom to Ann`s bedroom and moving it back into her room by about 2 ft. making her room a bit smaller (its a big room anyway) and making the bathroom big enough for a toilet as well. This also makes the landing a square instead of L shape so ray can use a wheelchair if necessary. So it will take about 3/4 weeks to get completed, but it will be ready to use, nothing for us to do, they will even hang toilet roll holders etc for us :!:
Well going to get an early night tonight as Mum`s birthday tomorrow so will visit her for the day.

I hope your mum had a good birthday. How old is she now? My dads birthday is tomorrow 31st and he will be 86. Got my son's Andrew's birthday 1st june, my nephew 2nd June. Had my daughter Amy 6th May, Stewart's 23rd May and my other daughter Stephanies partner 21st May.
Also my sister Susan who died her birthday was 22nd May. Also forgot my daugther Amy's partner 31st May also. Really expensive time May and early June for me.
Going to see my Dad tomorrow evening as Stu is helping Claire put some astro turf in her garden this weekend. Off to Latini's restaurant for Andrew's birthday for a meal think there is ten of us going tonight. Then after that going to drop in at my nephew's 18th birthday party for a while at the Posh Club in Peterborough. Looking forward to next week for a quiet one.
The funeral went well. Was a long day and set out 1t 8.15 to pick my dad up and got to the other side of Leicester at 10.15. Didn't realise the church was about 20 mile away in the car. So had to then go back really from where we came. Then it was on the crematorium another 10 mile.
Then travel all the way back to the hall. We did 174 miles that day. Got home about 5pm and then poor Stewart had to leave for night shift at 6.30.
Was a long day. The service was disappointing as it was in a baptist church and the pastor spent more time trying convert us to be born again Christians than making it special for Susan's children. I came away feeling really cheated and cross not being able to let out my emotions. Felt really sorry for ther children as it is a part of grieving being able to cry for your mum. I do respect that is the type of service Susan wanted but the pastor used it to his own advantage. We all have our different faiths and religions and I respect that of other people.
I have been feeling really tired since Thursday and think it has taken it out of me now. Going to chill out in the garden today as sunny alreay. Then should be ok for tonight.
Have a good weekend everyone and hope you are all doing ok.

Woke up at 5 am so thought I would make a good start to the day.
Cleaned the cooker it was revolting it took ages but feel really pleased with myself. Done two loads of washing and now taken the curtains down in the lounge ready to wash next. Half cleaned the bathrooms and now everyone is up and in my way, so thought I would take a well earned break and have breakfast.
Hope you are all well.
Take care everyone.

You have been busy today! I was awake at 6 but went back to bed for another hour to catch up on sleep I have missed.
Lovely day here also. Hopefully not going to do too much. Going to see my Dad later as was his birthday yesterday but went to my brothers house so didn't get to see him.
Hope everyone else has the sun and have a chill day.
