I have had a good day today the first in months, we are not putting our decs up until a few weeks due to Mike working!!!! and there is the fact of the new colour of tree I may change, still debating whether I will or not my favorite colour is purple ....... but I do not think it would go with a brown and cream decor somehow!!!! I have copper and silver so it seems to go with the room somehow????

Anyway I do hope you are all having a better day xxxxx

    Hi there everyone

Well waited in all day yesterday for that phone call from the surgeons secretart and guess what it did not arrive, and when I tried to call she did not answer the phone so I called this morning as I have an appointment with the surgical appliance people tomorrow to check my orthapedic boots and they have to make something to go inbetween my toes to stop them going over each other but they said that they could not do it with out a referal. I managed to get hold of my foot and ankle nurse this morning who said she had recieved a message about it and was running down to the clinic with my referal as we speak. I asked her about my appointments for my ultra sound and my back specialist and she said that she would sort them out this afternoon so hopefully it will not be too long now, but she could not understand why no referals were made when I was there when my surgeon said what the next steps were !!!

Any way all should now start happening and I will keep you all posted. As for my benefits success !!! They havve started paying me employment support allowance of £60 per a week from last week so at least it is something.

Does anyone know if you recieve the £10 christmas bonus do you have to recieve the full care allowance and higher rate mobility to get the £60 one after xmas or is it available to us on higher rate mobility only.

Well am about to have a long soak and get some sleep before spending the day at the hospital tomorrow.

Hope you are all coping and have a hopefully restfull night

The way I read it, if you get DLA, or Incapacity benefit at the long term rate and receive the christmas £10 bonus you automatically qualify for it. It did not stipulate what level of DLA it just said DLA. smile

I hope you had a good time with your friend for coffee today. I had a nice time with my friend went to see her at 10am and didn't get home until 3.10pm. Stayed for lunch and had a good catch up. Haven't seen her for about a month. She lived over the road opposite our house. That was before we moved 18 years ago and have kept in touch all that while. No what you mean about sitting. When I got up to go was stiff. Got Sophie tomorrow for a couple of hours as its Molly's Nativity.

Hope you get a good night sleep and everyone else.!

Don't keep feeling guilty about your illness you can't help it and I am sure your husband understands. Although it is difficult for partners and they do get frustrated when things don't go to plan. Don't punish yourself over this. It is not your fault and is something you can't control.

Is there someone other than yourself your husband could talk to and let his feelings out.? Maybe we should get all our partners to come on here and talk about there feelings. Not sure if they would do it though and would rather talk face to face with another man.

It is good Helen that you are finally getting everything sorted out! Lets hope you hear something soon. Im off to doctors tomorrow to see gp about what next to do with my thyroid meds. Thats if I can get appointment if not will just have to speak to him on the telephone again.

I am so touched that you include me in your greetings as I am only on the periphery of your forum.

It's nice in here though, it's like ours over on ME, like a little supportive family sharing each other's lives as well as illness.

The internet is my social life, to the amusement of my family who tell me I should get some 'proper' friends. Huh? I had some but they got bored with me after I became ill and dropped out of the human race.

does anyone know if Fibromyalgia affects your hands/grip as mine have gone useless. Have an emergency 'slot in' appointment with my ME consultant next week.

    See you all again soon

    Hi Ses, Tess and everyone,

Well Ses it must have been some performance your daughter put on! You must be so proud of her. :D Glad that your daughters are both helping you now, my daughter would rather buy presents than help :!: I`ve tried to explain that while gifts are nice and cheer me up no end, its the little things that mean a lot, the things that are done without me having to ask. It`s not that I`m ungrateful, just that actions speak louder than words at times :!: Hope you are soon feeling better anything on top of the fibro always seems ten times worse than it would for anyone else.

I hope you enjoyed your granddaughter`s play Tess :?: Good luck getting by the receptionist at your surgery, a friend of mine tried to get the emergency doctor out last weekend, it took her 2hrs of persuading the receptionist. When the doctor arrived she told her she should have called her out sooner :!: Oh well.

Di I hope you are able to visit your friend, but if not that they at least try to understand how you feel and come to see you instead.

Took Ray to the Sensory Room for the blind and partially sighted today, where you can try all the aids that are available, We bought a special lamp, which means he can now read a paper again and see to eat a meal, and a device that beeps when the cup is full so he can make his own tea. Cost us £70 :!: But I don`t care what else we go without, he must have some quality of life back he`s so down at the moment. Makes me feel worse when he is so unhappy so it was for me as much as him. I`ll worry about robbing Peter to pay Paul after christmas!!

My son is fine thanks Ses nothing broken, damage to tendons and ligaments in the foot and the nose isn`t crooked so will heal itself :!:

Well hope everyone gets some sleep tonight without too much pain

    Love Linda

PS Just learnt how to put smiley`s in the text, sad eh

Hi Ses, Alicia, Linda & All

Yes Ses you must be so proud of your daughter with her play. I am like you my daughter use to do a lot of singing in competitions and shows and always use to make me cry. It makes you so proud of them. She has a lovely voice and doesn't have time now to do her singing. She use to do a lot of singing to raise money for the Crohn's charity. As she suffers from it. To busy being a trainee paramedic now. Where are you moving to? Like you said you will find your lights when you move. It is normally me putting things in a safe place and forgetting where that safe place is.

Alicia it is good that you feel welcome on this site. You get to find out who your true friends are when you have an on going illness. But you now have a new group of friends with us. It could be fibro the trouble with your hands. But I have trouble with gripping things and pains in my hands but put it down to OA. I have OA in some of my fingers but feel sure have it in my wrists as well. I have a sore shoulder at the moment and not sure whether that is fibro or OA. Still been doing exercises the physio gave me for my shoulder but not doing any good. See physio on Friday so see whats going on. It is good you are going to see your consultant soon. Good luck with that!

Linda I bet ray must be so pleased he can read his newspaper, see to eat meal and make his tea. It is the little things that mean so much and the independence that goes with it. It is lovely to hear that getting these things for Ray also makes you happy. It so unfair because the things you have bought should be given to you and you not have to pay for them.

Your poor son must be feeling really sore but glad nothing broken.

I never saw Molly play as said to Amy I would look after Sophie so she could go see her. Amy said it was lovely and she said her words nice and clear. Some of the other children it was too much for and they cried. It is a big thing for a five year old to stand up in front of parents and say some lines. Let alone remembering them! She did Amy and all of us proud!

You are not sad at only being able to do smiley faces. I don't know how to do much more than you.

I have gone on too much now everyone. Will let you know how I get on at drs tomorrow.

    Love Tess x x

Well, I have just popped in to see how you all are b4 I try and goto sleep, I have given the forum all top marks due to us being good friends xxxxx

I know what you mean Alicia about the PC being your social network..... due to my ex husband alot of my friends either do not speak or the slept with him and so I do not deal with many people apart from my family so ure not the only one, and you are so welcome to this forum xxxx

Oh Linda, I am so pleased for Ray xxx I think you may be entitled to grants for Ray for things like that.......

    http://www.fundingcaring.co.uk/help-with-equipment-and-living-arrangements.html

I think it is awful that you have to rob peter to pay paul when something like that can make Ray's quality of life so much better, I so hope this helps you???? I hope this has lifted your spirits a little too xxxxxx So you can have a little relaxing time xxxxxxx  So glad your son is ok too x

Tess, I found the lights..... my hubby just couldn't be bothered as they were where they were suppose to be all along........ he was wanting to play with Melissa's boyfriend's helicopter and that is why he was unable to find them..... I am happy now as my window looks lovely!!!!! Yes I know what you mean too about little five year olds, there were them today and they were robins and they sang a song together and it was wonderful !!!!! I have sore shoulders all the time, I think it is due to using a stick though???? and my hands give me great pain too probably all due to the fibro...... I do pick things up and drop them as I loose grip? not sure whether this is a fibro thing too? I hope you are resting now xx

I would like to say goodnight for now and sweet dreams as it is 12.45 am so sweet dreams everyone xxxxx

    Hi Ses & Everyone!

Got to ring doctors surgery at 8.30 to try and get appointment!

Wish me luck  It sounds like a typical man thing they can never see in front of their noses if you ask them to get something. Especially when you have told them where it is. Stewart is like that and can't find something then I go and it is right in front of him.

So pleased you have got your window looking nice  If there is one thing missing doesn't finish if off properly.

Yes did get some rest went to bed at ten. Had a restless sleep but didn't have to get out of the bed for a wee lol.

Feel really achy and tired this moring and have to walk to doctors later.

Be all right once I get myself moving. Stewart would take me but been on nights and it isn't too far. He takes me places that are further as I don't drive.

Looking forward to the weekend when my babysitting all done and not have to go anywhere for a proper rest.

Well better go now and have some breakfast as feel hungry.

    Keep smiling everyone!

    Hi Everyone!

Well saw gp and thinks I shall stay on 150mg thyroxine. Hasn't heard any different from hospital and will let me know if need to change it. But pretty sure will stay on this dose now. Until further blood tests are done.

Also told him about feeling wobbly on legs and felt as if I was drunk and room spinning. He seems to think it might have been vertigo. He checked my ears and tested my eyes. Said if it happened again and got really bad to go back and see him. Been fine since though.

Saw a lovely little outside hat and mitts for Sophie in white with baby's first christmas. Also a gorgeous little baby grow with words \"my special little christmas pudding\" had a picture of christmas pudding on it. The shop shut all day today so couldn't get them. Open tomorrow though and got to go back to drs for physio so could get them after. Want to put inside her Pink Baby's 1st Christmas Stocking. Also got to cute little yellow rubber ducks for her bath. Got Molly some new gloves, skipping rope for hers and need to find a few more little things for her.

Well got to go going to have a trim on my hair soon when hairdresser arrives. Talk again soon.

Hi Di Linda Ses and everyone else

Went for my appointment yesterday and they had recieved the referal from my surgeon on tuesday, so they are now making something to go inbetween my toes to try to stop them crossing each other. And as an extra bonus I am getting new boots He He !! I know I should not get excited as they do not look very nice but my orthapedic boots are the only foot wear I can wear and I am only allowed one pair at a time so when you get a new pair it is exciting but as always they will take 3 months to be made

On a brighter note I have recieved a letter saying that I qualify for the christmas £10 bonus so heres to the £60 one in January.

Hope you are all coping okay. My legs knees and back are aching well and my hands feel like they belong to someone else today as they are not doing what I want them to do at all. Will keep you all updated with everything as it happens but for now must get back to that painting only 2 walls left :D

    Luv & Hugs

    Hi Tess, Ses and everyone,

Glad you got in to see your doctor Tess, and everything went ok. You must really enjoy shopping for all those little stocking fillers smile Do you get to see them open their presents, I bet Molly will help sophie open hers :!:

It`s good they got your referal at last Helen, I hope things get sorted out for you quickly now.

Well things are a bit down here today, It`s strange but when I need to be strong I seem to put mind over matter and then when the problems have passed I go downhill with a bump :!: Ray is very down today, it seems only to take a little thing and he just goes under. The hospital have messed up his appointment for the eye clinic and promised to sort it and ring today. Well, you`ve guessed it they didn`t :!:

So here am I tired, stiff and fed up, but putting on a brave face and trying to jog him along :!: He sees the GP tomorrow to review the new tablets for heart failure, so I`m hoping there will be time to talk about these episodes of depression. He`s fine one minute and then ranting the next

Sorry to ramble on, but on a more positive note I have wrapped all the presents I have bought so far and written and posted all the cards :!: I`m not usually this organised, it`s almost as if I`m doing it for a reason, but I don`t know why.

Well going to rest now, not sleeping too good again. take care everyone

    Love Linda

    Hi Helen, Linda & Everyone!

It is good you got your referal. By the time your new boots are made Helen will be nearly spring. As long as your boots are comfortable and you are able to walk about that is the main thing. Hope you get your decorating finished. Don't work too hard though.

Why is it Linda that when people say they are going to ring from the hospital they never do! Makes me so angry and can't imagine how you and Ray must be feeling. I hope your gp will be able to help Ray with his feeling down. Don't worry about rambling on here we all do at times and it is good to get it out so less stress  You are organised with your Christmas preparations. Not got too much on next week I hope so maybe get more into wrapping presents when have bought them all then. Need to make some sausage rolls yet!

Physio in the morning and babysitting tomorrow night. Must do some ironing at the weekend. Not too much as only mine and Stewart's.

    Well take care all!

    Love Tess x x
