Has the forum got M.E again ??

I found your article quite helpful.

I just recently had a diagnosis of CFS and did not believe or understand what it was about. It is good to know in your article that may there be some options and support to improve this condition. It is also helpful to know there are books or organisations that may be good for me during this period. I have found that doing a little bit of excercise make me tired but helps me to avoid depression or feeling part of the community.

    Hi everyone

I have just been googling around (as one does when you can do b***** all else - sorry!) and I found something which may interest you.

If you google 'Celebrities with CFS' there are various topics on the subject.

Ian Woosnam (golfer) hasn't played since last July due to ME, and a well known American motorbiker Ricky Carmichael is also a sufferer (haven't heard of him but bet you have, Jay.)

One of the articles also states:

'When highly motivated and successful people at the peak of physical fitness can be struck down by CFS, it may help others to realise this is no yuppie flu or malingerers' fantasy'. TOO RIGHT!

Just thought you might be interested!

    Hi everyone

Had a rough night woth the good old ME - struggling to control my body temp! Woke up in the night wet through. Also back to those strange dreams you have when you dont reach stage 4. Re-awoke at 11.30am this morning then back in bed for 2pm.

I decorated our daughters room before xmas and always admired it becaue it was white and a lovely raspberry pink and gold patterned paper on one wall. Its really girly and thats me to a tee! Her room gets all the sun and I have spent most of the day in there resting/sleeping. I feel real proud of my efforts in there - even if I say so myself!

I have recieved some lovely cards and flowers from one of the schools I work at but most of all I have recieved some warm thoughtful words from my friends new and old here at Patients Uk. I want to thank you all for you kind thoughts of which I really appreciate.

I am feeling much better now that I am pain free and the initial ME has subsided - well ish! Just some lovely bruises to go then I will be ready to fit in Jays side car and becasue I am injured I will have to have it all to myself and the rest of you can walk! HA HA HA HA Maybe I could get us a disability badge - now theres a thought

Joking aside, I thankyou all again and will read some of the postings in the near future!

    Bye for now

    Hi there Donna smile

Now what's this about you hogging the entire sidecar - I'm not sure about that!!! I bet that Jay can come up with some amazing DIY adaption - how about a double-decker one - I'll even let you have the top bunk as you've been so poorly. Just call me generous!!

Seriously though, do take it easy. Your ME may well take a bit of a battering from the anaesthetic, but hopefully not for long. Have you got your pickled appendix in a jar on the mantlepiece - very nice!!

Hopefully, you will be able to take a good few weeks off work and just put your feet up - pretend you are a princess for a couple of weeks at least!!

Take care and be in touch soon.

Hey just a quick funny tale about my appendix!

At the hospital there were 4 operating theatres and 3 of the 4 surgeons stopped to come and my my appendix!   :? Little to the knowledge of both me and the other patients!

Because they didnt know if the pain was goenologial or appendicitus they commenced the surgery eagerly awaiting to find the cause of the pain, so once the goenolical surgeon had checked mt bits they other surgeons commenced his work but to no avail!!!! :? Both Surgeons were baffled :? :?

Yep I like to do things in style it is currently being reseaerched to see if my appendix was the smallest removed in the UK! Seemingly, the surgeon explained that your appendix is about the size of a slug - nice! Yep mine was the size on a new born baby's finger nail! Thats why they couldn't find it and the opther surgeons came for a nosey

So with my new found fame I shall definatly having such priveledges as riding in Jays side car - on the top deck of course AND suspension so I dont feel the lumps and bumps after surgery 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

    Hope everyone is feeling well

Well, I can tell you are feeling better, Donna!! Pretty much back to normal I would say!!

No wonder the NHS is in such a mess when someone like you suddenly appears and monopolises both general and gynae. surgeons. Couldn't make do with just the one could you! I shouldn't imagine anyone else got a look in - they are probably still lined up on trolleys waiting whilst the entire hospital staff are oogling your pint-sized appendix!! Typical!

I bet Jay, is this very minute, working on a proto-type super-duper sidecar that can take (at the last count!) at least six of us, Yea, we'll make sure that your section is well-padded - don't worry.

Can you send us a pic. of your dinky appendix? On the other hand, perhaps not - it may put some off their supper.

Take care and keep us posted.

Well when you are both out on this sidecar, watch out for oncoming vehicles and make sure Jay steers well clear of articulated lorries (see my story in 'Lean on me')

I've included you in the sidecar outing, too Alicia - so you can warn us of any lorry problems ahead!smile smile smile Though I think Jay may go into hiding at the prospect of it all!!!!

I think Jay has already gone into hiding - where is he?
