Having internal body vibrations/buzzing.

I've been experiencing these body vibrations/buzzing for about 2 months now. It started out mostly at night waking me up between 1am to 4am..if I try to sleep through it it gets worse and even into my head. I've had several really bad mornings where its been so bad I get out of bed in a panic wondering what is wrong...of course this has lead to very little sleep the last couple months. Lately it goes on all day too. At night I can "calm" it with a glass of wine but only to wake up vibrating again. I've been taking anxiety meds and they have no effect. Tried muscle relaxers and they have no effect. I've changed my diet and taking vitamins with no effect. I'm 50 years old and pre pausel as I've had on full period I'm 7 months. Im so tired of dealing with this. Anyone else having this same thing? If so what have they done about it?.I have a doctors app. in two days.

I, too, suffered from body vibrations waking me up from naps for a couple of years until they got worse and would awaken me in the middle of the night. This was a daily problem for me. Entirely by coincidence, a friend mentioned that her husband's body vibrations disappeared once he got a CPAP machine. I took a sleep study that verified I was having "sleep events" (though I don't remember any vibrations during the study.) I am on a CPAP every night now and the vibrations have all but disappeared! I go weeks without a vibration, even though I nap without the CPAP. So, at least for my friend's husband and me, CPAP is the answer.
I'm a male, by the way...
Good luck.

Hi all, I've had really bad Internal Vibrations, buzzing , shakiness for weeks. It started in my feet a bit during the day. everytime Iay down the vibrations and buzzing begins and takes over my feet, midsection, bladder, vag area, chest and parts of my arms at times. I feel like have to urinate at times from the vibrations. Its like laying on a subway platform. earlier in year I had twitching of legs and face and feeling very shakey in my chest, that went away. i did have tachycardia during that time. Dr. put me on low dose of beta blocker and asked if i wanted something for nerves. At 44 I has a total hysterectomy and a few years ago after multiple bouts of colitis/diverticulitis my intestine perforated. So, this scares me and makes me very edgy. i cannot sleep, Im exhausted, dont know what kind of doctor to see for this...especially during the Coronavirus. Has anyone gotten relief and answers?

Hi Linda, what I have found in my case and not saying this is in your case but. I was using a sleep medication at night and it was no longer working and I changed it to a extended release and started a low dose anxiety medication and it stopped. I believe I built up a tolerance to the sleep medication and it was no longer working and I was basically having anxiety in the middle of the night. Now that I have gotten those ugly feelings to stop, I am gonna start a plan to get away from as many medications as possible with the help from my new primary care physician.

Hello, glad you found relief. I am not on any anxiety medicine, probably could be. I would want a low dose. I take a probiotic, pepsid, claritin sometimes and started magnesium. I had a video phone call with PCP today. she said i should definitely see a neurologist. I have a video call with one this week. She said i should have blood drawn for Vitamin B12 deficiency. When i stand, symptoms go away. Last night i felt that my nerve endings were in hyper super sonic mode- vibrations and buzzing felt like a train ran through my house. My head shaked and inner body. it made me nauseous. weird thing is before this got crazy i broke out in a rash on torso. i wonder if its auto immune related? Anyway, be well and safe.

I notice people have suggested in may be parkinsons or MS and if it is the beginnings of something like that the best thing to do just in case is to really purify your diet of all junk, sugar, and start eating a lot of fresh fruit and veges. also to exercise every day. Try and alleviate stress as much as possible, make sure your sleep hygiene is good. keep screen time to a minimum. take a daily essential nutrients multivitamin but make sure it is quality, and don't take unnatural forms of b12 and folic acid, instead take a multi that has methyl and adenosyl cobalamin b12, and methyl folate which are the natural forms. take fish oil. turn your wifi and bluetooth off over night. get early morning light into your eyes. if you do all of these things even if it is the beginnings of a neurological problem you may be able to delay it getting worse and improve your symptoms.

It turns out it was hormonal imbalances due to menopause. Compounding the issue was a diagnosis of SIBO and biliary dyskinesia (low functioning gallbladder). I am exercising daily, on a low FODMAP, and gluten-free diet with supplements,. Waiting for gallbladder surgery for removal. When your gut is compromised so many other things go awry. Be well. Be safe.

So I've been following this thread for a while now trying to figure out what is going on. I will give my story, which is long, but hope that it can rule things out for someone. I am 56 years old and started menopause at 51. This started when I was 55. Firstly, I have NOT gotten rid of the issue as of yet. I have had a myriad of testing and have ruled things out though. So here it is. In May 2019, I went on a Keto diet to lose 20 pounds. Within a few weeks, I started getting a tingling/vibration in my left foot and ringing in my ears. In the next couple weeks, the tingling/vibration spread to my right foot, then up to both knees. In another week or so it went to my left elbow and finally to the left side of my face. It is constant in my legs and feet (from the knees down) but not always in my left elbow and face. It worsens some days and stays the same others. I went to the neurologist and they sent me for an MRI. It came back normal. They originally thought it was either GBS or CIDP. I had a ton of blood work done, checking my vitamin D, B12, folate, Magnesium, potassium, CBC, Lyme disease, mold, heavy metals, oxalates, the metal implant in my wrist, and a whole slew of others. All came back normal except for a very slight elevation to Lyme, which could be a false positive. The neurologist then gave me an EMG/NCS, which also came out negative and ruled out any autoimmune disease. I am seeing a Diagnostic Medical Doctor who thinks it is a toxin that was released when I lost the 20 pounds with Keto so quickly. I have been on AIP diet and now paleo for the past 9 months with no help. I have tried taking 600mg magnesium as well as 10,000IU vitamin D per day with 200 K2. That seems to worsen it, which makes me believe it is hormones because vitamin D is actually a hormone that works with estrogen and progesterone. I am now in the process of getting a saliva hormone test done that also includes melatonin and cortisol. I will update after those results come back. For the most part, my vibrations/tingling don't bother me during the day because I am moving around so much I don't really notice them, but they can get pretty strong during the night. By morning, they are full force again until I get up and move around. The ringing in my ears has gotten progressively louder. I don't have any stress in my life. I live in the Keys and only work about 7 hours a week at a house on the ocean, basically doing nothing. I take my dogs to the beach every day and go kayaking or paddle boarding. I am active and live a very stress free life, so anxiety definitely is not a cause. I don't really have any other health issues. My cholesterol, BP, sugar, etc are all normal. I exercise and eat only organic foods and grass fed/organic meats. I am on no medications at all. And yet the vibrations go on. It is very frustrating. I will update as I get more results.

Mine started same age and I also had lost weight quite quickly going to a healthy diet eliminating sugar and gluten. Ive also had mri, cat scan etc been to ENT specialist, spinal specialist. finally started feeling better when i went to a psysio that specialises in TMJ but still not 100%. then i went to a chinese acupuncture and herbal doctor. acupuncture and cupping helped a bit, then the masseuse released by diaphragm. this has got me to 99% better but lock down has meant I cant go so I looked up diaphragm release on interenet and have been doing the exercises with the ball. look it up. i feel like lots of webbing which must be fascia is slowly popping and breaking and i have fluid released from glands in roof of mouth. last night i was stretching and felt a pop in my head and a lot more foul tasting fluid down the back of my throat. my head and chest feels much freer and i feel i can breathe better. i have been breathing deeply while stretching my neck and pressing on points on my chest wall while stretching. i can feel fascia breaking. my theory is losing weight fast left my fascia in the wrong place with fat missing and it has collected pockets of fluid. by gently stretching and releasing it, it can reform in the right place. my right side is particulary affected and i think its because i lie on that side which bends my shoulder inward so it sort of set in that position. the self massaging makes you feel a bit nausea and fluey so go gentle and slowly.

kathy817 I have so many of the same symptoms as you. I have internal vibrations throughout my body for the last year. I am 59 and have been in menopause for the last 3 years. I also lost 30 lbs on Keto. I've had many of the same tests you had and all results are normal. I'm taking magnesium and D3K2. I also think it is hormonal and has so something to do with Cortisol. I'm interested in knowing what the results are from your testing.

I will let you know as soon as I get results. I also believe it is going to have something to do with Cortisol. I forgot to mention, I also have arrhythmia off and on, but I think that is due to dehydration or low potassium, possibly from the hormones exacerbating it. However, when I make a point to drink enough water, that seems to go away.

Did you get any results from your testing?

My tests came back with very low melatonin and low testosterone. My morning adrenals were also low. Estrogen and progesterone were consistent with menopause, so they were ok. I have started to take 3mg of melatonin every night and I am definitely starting to sleep better. The vibrations have leveled out and I don't get spikes anymore. I am writing down everything I do and take to see if something helps and right now I am actually looking at sodium. I rate my vibrations on a scale of 1-10 and they have lately been about 4. I added 1/4 tsp of himalayan salt to water and drink it throughout the day, and the 2 days I tried that my vibrations went to a 2 on the left leg and a 0-1 on the right. I am going to continue with adding salt to see if that is the electrolyte I am low in.

Mine feels like if I am holding a leaf blower for awhile and then turn it off, that sensation that it's still on is what I feel. It's worse at night. During the day I hardly feel it because I am busy and everything I do is "stronger" than the feeling so it over powers it, but at night, when I go to bed, I feel it and it gets stronger throughout the night. It's at its worst around 6am. Mine is mostly in my legs from the knees down and more prominent on the left, although sometimes it is in my left elbow and left side of my face. That has become infrequent now. It seems like it is slowly backing off. I am seeing a functional diagnostic medical doctor and I highly recommend one. He has run every test known to man. I have come up with a slight elevation for lyme and mold, so he has started me on a slow detox, which could also be the reason I am slowly getting better. I just hope it continues until it's gone, because it is so annoying.

Kathy, mine are similar to yours and more prominent on my left leg as well.
