Having internal body vibrations/buzzing.

I've been experiencing these body vibrations/buzzing for about 2 months now. It started out mostly at night waking me up between 1am to 4am..if I try to sleep through it it gets worse and even into my head. I've had several really bad mornings where its been so bad I get out of bed in a panic wondering what is wrong...of course this has lead to very little sleep the last couple months. Lately it goes on all day too. At night I can "calm" it with a glass of wine but only to wake up vibrating again. I've been taking anxiety meds and they have no effect. Tried muscle relaxers and they have no effect. I've changed my diet and taking vitamins with no effect. I'm 50 years old and pre pausel as I've had on full period I'm 7 months. Im so tired of dealing with this. Anyone else having this same thing? If so what have they done about it?.I have a doctors app. in two days.

Does anyone's head shake a lot when they are having these internal vibrations, buzzing, shaking? Its so hard to sleep. i saw a neurologist for the first time on teledoc. He is sending me for two MRIs, one of the back and neck, not the brain, which I would think I need. i am waiting for authorization. He said it could be a pinched nerve in neck? He just prescribed Gabapentin! Ha s anybody gotten relief from this, I am scared.

i would avoid taking any medication that isnt necessary to cure the problem but just makes you feel better. You'll end up with side effects (read the side effects of gabapentin) from that and it is the beginning of a slippery slope. you need to fix the source of the problem not dampen the symptoms. the body sends these symptoms for a reason. to tell you something is wrong. if it is a physical thing like pinched nerve go to a physical therapist to sort out your muscles . i would go to a functional medicine doctor too and get your diet sorted out.
are you hunched over a computer screen all day or slouching? look up diaphragm release and stretch your chest and neck muscles. try and sit up right and stretch out every half hour or so. believe me, i have had all the tests and been told its anxiety and my brain making it up. specialists have been no help. but only started feeling better after going to tmj physio and chinese masseuse.

After no results from the gabapentin I found a new neurologist who felt it was pinched nerves and muscle tightness. I did a lot of PT which helped but it was a great chiropractor who managed my head vibrations best. Now with the pandemic I can't see him and the buzzing came back. I started Lyrica, 25 mg 2xday and it helps somewhat. I don't have any side effects and it makes the symptoms somewhat tolerable, but first choice for me is the good chiropractic. Hope that helps.

Hi Kay: I have similar symptoms as yours. My left leg and foot buzzes when seated . at night when I lay down, it moves onto my mid section, chest , back and shoulder. i had two mris of back and neck, have herniated discs and root nerve encroachment. The back of my neck hurts on and off throughout day. it is hard to sleep with the vibrations, buzzzing. it feels like laying in a train station. my neurologist believes its a pinched nerve and inflamed muscles, not my brain. He thinks i might have fibromyalgia too. He first put me on Gabapentin and just started Meloxican. i feel like my leg is shaking on the inside, but its not moving, some days are better than others. My head shakes when its bad, caffeine makes it worse. It came on so suddenly, i thought it was Parkinsons or MS, neurologist says NO. Anyway, I hope it goes away. i do find if i get the right posisition if my neck at night, its not as bad. Good luck to you!

HI,
I have been having this issues for over a year or more but I thought that it was my work environment from the building such as air condition unit and etc that was vibrating the floors. I always thought that I was losing my mind until this past week during and after my cycle I had noticed that this vibration sensation was constantly non stopped. I took a long hot bath and it stopped briefly until the next morning of me using the restroom. This is becoming very annoying! It makes me want to drink or take some relaxing medications. I have researched this and no one is able to diagnose this issues. Please tell me that your doctor was able to help you. I am now teleworking at home and I can constantly notice it a lot more. I AM GOING INSANE!

There's a Facebook group called Power-Surge for women in Perimenopause...you should join and see all the women going through this same vibration/internal tremor issue. Many have gotten better...I still struggle with it. It's been a huge help for me though! You're not crazy....good luck.

Hi,
i am glad i have found this forum. i have been suffering from internal tremors for about 2 months. The doctor wasnt quite sure what i meant, i think. The only way i can describe it is like having a fever, without the fever. it started just at night but, is now during the day. most days it occurs but, not all day. The doctor is hopefully investigating it. At the moment she thinks its lack of oxygen during the night. Will be having blood tests.
I am 51, and am on HRT for possible peri menapause. its hard to tell as am not having periods because of my coil. was put on HRT on my request to see if it would help some new found anxiety i had developed. it definitely did. it just occurred to me (although i thought a long shot) that the tremors are related to HRT , or the menopause. So, this forum is offering some reassurance, as i have been getting quite concerned about it. Have been wondering if i have a neurological disorder.
