Having internal body vibrations/buzzing.

I've been experiencing these body vibrations/buzzing for about 2 months now. It started out mostly at night waking me up between 1am to 4am..if I try to sleep through it it gets worse and even into my head. I've had several really bad mornings where its been so bad I get out of bed in a panic wondering what is wrong...of course this has lead to very little sleep the last couple months. Lately it goes on all day too. At night I can "calm" it with a glass of wine but only to wake up vibrating again. I've been taking anxiety meds and they have no effect. Tried muscle relaxers and they have no effect. I've changed my diet and taking vitamins with no effect. I'm 50 years old and pre pausel as I've had on full period I'm 7 months. Im so tired of dealing with this. Anyone else having this same thing? If so what have they done about it?.I have a doctors app. in two days.

I am so relieved I found this forum. I have had this feeling for a few years now and it's literally driving me crazy! I feel this painless almost pounding , buzzing or vibrating feeling in my head. It seems to be worse in the morning. I take 2mg estrace dsiky, had a total hysterectomy in 2012 and I'm almost 44. I am literally always a nervous wreck and worried sick. 😕 The latter has been controlling my life lately. I almost feel scared constantly. I also have pretty severe dreprssion on these days. No offense ladies, but I'm glad I'm not alone. My dr too says "oh that's weird, never heard of that" ughhhh

Hi! I’m glad I found this. Last year almost exactly I started having this “buzzy” feeling. Hard to describe but close to what I’m reading here. At the beginning of/right before my period I would this. Like I’m near some kind of electric current. Slight buzzing.
One day last year while I was driving I had this stranger feeling like my body got very heavy. I can only describe it as a feeling of going up an elevator really fast. This scared the hell out of me and caused some very fast heart rate, and caused a fight or flight mode which was super scary. It happened the next month around the start of my period. Last year I got blood work done, heart halter monitor, and a treadmill stress test. Everything was fine.
I got that buzzy feeling around the time of the month. Felt better a few days into it. Wasn’t so bad and I dealt with.
I did decide to lose some weight and get excercise. I’ve lost 30 lbs.
Then last week I felt buzzy — out of no where on Friday I got the heavy feeling. Still had the same fight of flight but I was more calm. Wasn’t that bad. Then all day Monday I had that buzz feeling at work. To the point my face felt a little tingly. Then Tuesday evening the heavy feeling came back.
Then to the day I was back at the doctors office trying to explain my symptoms. They did a full blood work and all looks normal. They want to do an ultra sound on my gall bladder area.
Afterwards I feel so sleepy.
Has anyone else felt that heavy/fast elevator going up feeling along with this buzziness?
I’m 40 years old.
Thanks in advance.
TR.

I use to have it. I got really hot "when I got to the top" feeling. I felt it was some kind of hot flash. I have gone to the Dr and had the same tests done, halter monitor, sleep apnea, stress test, blood work and all found nothing wrong with me. I think that's why there is no concern on my Dr's cause they can't find anything and I'm still alive. It's frustrating.

What is this?
I’m sitting at the doctors office. They want an ultra sound of my gall bladder. Since i complained about that buzzy feeling and then a heaviness starting above my belly button. That pull before that elevator feeling that sends my body into fight or flight.

She wants to set up a surgery consult.
Have any of you experienced this as part of trying to figure out the issue. I’m told it is seen quite a bit in women 40+ years, and somewhat related to hormones.

So grateful to have found this discussion where other people understand about this internal vibration. I am 56 and completed menopause at age 52. These vibrations just started about 6 to 8 months ago. I have suffered terrible insomnia for at least 10 years, and this past year the insomnia got so much worse because I kept being jolted awake by bursts of adrenaline every single time I dozed off. The adrenaline bursts were eventually joined by internal buzzing / tremors / electrical pulsing, and only during the night when I tried to sleep. I started with my family doctor and moved on to my gyno, a cardiologist and an endocrinologist, all of whom said they'd never heard of any of these symptoms, which is so awful to tell patients that when there are forums like this out here proving many people DO tell their doctors this stuff. They all wanted me to take drugs for anxiety, depression (what?) and/or beta-blockers to slow my heart rate. It was clear they all thought I was some nervous basket case. Thankfully I went to see an Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat specialist for a totally unrelated issue and mentioned these symptoms to him. He told me it sounded like I had sleep apnea and convinced me to go to a sleep lab. Sure enough, I have very bad sleep apnea, and every time I start to doze off, I stop breathing, which of course makes my body panic, release bursts of adrenaline and wake up. These endless nights of nodding off and being "suffocated" back awake had set me up for some serious anxiety. I am now using a CPAP machine, and believe me, I didn't want to, and I still have a love-hate relationship with this thing two months in, BUT, I'm getting some decent, restorative sleep most nights now and the waking up to bursts of adrenaline have stopped. HOWEVER, the internal vibrations have not. In fact, they have started coming during the day as well as when I am waking from sleep at night. I really believe now that the vibrations are unrelated to the adrenaline bursts and sleep apnea. The other day at work I was in an office meeting with 25 other people and I would have sworn the floor was bouncing up and down. I even asked the woman next to me if she felt the building shaking. You can imagine the strange look I got. I realized after a few minutes when nobody else was reacting that the vibration and "bouncing" was inside of me. It takes a whole lot of talking to oneself to remain in control and act "normal" during something like that. I wanted to run out of the meeting, go home and pull the covers over my head. It can feel like you're losing your mind. At this point in time I am not bringing this vibration thing to any of the doctors because they put me through enough most of last year (from June 2016 through Dec 2016) with their doubt and pill-pushing when what I had was sleep apnea. That is why I'm so happy to find a place like this where we can share our stories and maybe help each other find answers. Thank you ALL for everything you share. It helps so much.

Thanks for sharing your story crystal, it indeed is frustrating that doctors don't want to hear about complaints which aren't in their textbooks.
At the moment I'm investigating the effect of Low Frequency noise on my health (after going through about the same medical mill as you, including the CPAP.) We have got a Hum (see http://www.thehum.info/) in this region and this faint, low, droning diesel-like noise is driving me nuts lately and I suspect it to be the cause of many of my health complaints including the internal vibrations, the little 'earthquakes', and insomnia (waking up at 4AM).
There are several scientific papers on LF to cause all kinds of sensations, including the feeling of the earth feeling wobbly, feeling vibrations in objects (like your bed at night) and internally.
The problem is that most people are not aware of this low frequency noise (not everyone can hear it) and have no clue where their complaints are coming from, so it is difficult to get research done and politicians to take action.
Maybe you are LF noise sensitive too?

Hi Susan, Crystal & Linda. I too am sensitive to that low frequency hum. and I am surrounded by people with hot tubs & swimming pool pumps. Ive had it for 6 years now, just started one day as a pump, pu pu pu ... and I didn't know where it was coming from. The power went off in our neighbourhood one night and I figured it out it was coming from inside my head. I have been to see everyone, usual ENT's & neurologists & alternative professionals. I have had the odd wonderful sensation of everything stopping after I fly. Sometimes for 2 days I can hear the quiet inside and out, meaning that I am not sensitive to external noise, and it's wonderful. But it doesn't last.
That roaring and vibrating in my head has now progressed to my whole body quivering, buzzing, vibrating non stop 24/7. Im going to try progesterone as soon the pharmacist makes it up for me.
I'm also working with an holistic dentist who is working to get my jaw re-aligned into its proper position so that everything works the way it is supposed to. Im starting to realize that the health of the jaw is everything. It supports the whole head, all the cranial nerves come drown thru various teeth. and when you jaw is alignment, your neck is in alignment. Based on scans, my dentist has built up my back teeth temporarily before anything more permanent. Once we have it just right, he will place something more permanent. 2 weeks ago, I went in for a slight adjustment on my bite, came home, no noise, no vibrating, I felt so normal and so good. Last until the middle of the night. Yesterday the same thing, a slight adjustment in my bite, came home, no noise, no vibration, felt so wonderful. And when I'm quiet inside, the pumps don't bother me. It's only when everything is vibrating and shaking inside that they drive me crazy because they are intensifying what i am already experiencing.
Unfortunately, it all came back again during the night. But to know it can be paused for awhile after being so chronic gives me home.

Your symptoms prior to cpap sound just like me. Unlike you, my sleep study showed I did not have sleep apnea. Back to the drawing board. I have noticed my symptoms are worse once a month and 28/+or- days apart. I am a female no longer having my cycle since an ablation 8 months ago. Something is waking me up with this adrenalin rush. I do have Ativan I take when it seems to happen night after night. Question about your internal tremors, when you wake up and realize they are happening if you move do they subside? Mine goes away if I make any movement. Weird I know.
