I have lost a good percentage of hearing in my left ear. Is this likely to be permanent, if being this way for over 8 weeks ?

I understand that this is typical of this condition. Just when you think you're making progress, you go downhill again. Very frustrating. You then rack your brains as to what was it you did to make you feel better. Or conversely, what was it you did to make you feel worse again !

Hi peter,I was told to keep taking stemitel when I do my exercises,I'm meant to gradually take less but I've tried it and without them I'm bed ridden

      Hi Lisa,

That seems to be the problem of this disease. So many conflicting opinions by the medical profession.

I don't have to do anything it can just come on me I normally feel better lying down a bit suppose it's coz your body is still and I no when it's goin to be on me all day soon as I wake up of a mornin get up let me head a just then I no if it's a good ish day or like normal like today iv got light headness and my eyes are off a bit when I turn my head it's not so much dizzy it just seems to be lightness and eyes off yes iv heard takin stematill can hinder the process that's what I'm takin at the mo I'm staying on them until I get told others wise I'm just waiting to see if I can get a physio to help me along think I'll feel a bit more comfortable then and if they say stop takin them so be it

I tried cutting them down in the past I normally felt the same but wasn't bed ridden feel for you its like they say try to cut em down coz you don't want to get addicted to them but they don't understand what your goin thru coz they don't see an injury on your body etc it's hard to explain to people what it's like like my mates look at me and say you just look normal ok etc yes but it in my head it plays with your senses and stuff all I'm waitin for is my doc to sort physical therapy out them I can start proper I done them exercise s last week felt a bit worse but I'm wondering if it can heel it's self in time coz like when I go out your turn in ya head looking walking moving etc it's just like doin the cooksey I suppose to me I went out this mornin walkin to the city centre yes me head is light eyes off a bit but got me thinking like

I'm on the lemon and honey and iron pills so hope I start improving soon, its weird as quite a few lady's have told me they are anaemic and they are suffering from dizziness too,I don't bleed lots with my monthly cycle and don't get nose bleeds or cuts so something must be causing it

Hi I have had this for about 4 years now it started after a bad ear infection. I have had every test done and all come back fine. I work full time and long hours and some days are worse than others. Its nice to hear other peoples story's though becuase sometimes it feels really scary. Mine gets worse at that time of the month but i would agree that when I do not get much sleep it is bad the next day. What is this lemon drink i would like to try that. Mine was worse in the begininning but to be honest I have the mindset to not let it take over my life otherwise i would have to give up work and my social life, I just try and get through the day. Any tips would be great though

Hi Lisa, yeah same thing here, not much of a bleeder. Weird feeling, kind of like I am there but not there. Like there's nothing inside of me, I'm so weak. Do you get the headaches too? Today, my ears were full with some pain...ugh. Hadn't felt that for a while. Crap.

Hi Marie,I do get headaches and funny enough I have one now also had ear pains last few days so doctor gave me antibiotics yesterday as he thinks I have a ear infection as I'm really dizzy again, how are you feeling?lisa

      Hi Lisa,

I hope that the antibiotics will help you out and I hope your dr is pretty certain u hv an ear infection. Wouldnt like u to be on antibiotics if u dont need to.

Headache today, again, but our weather has been all over the place. Warmed right up to about 20 celsius yesterday & now dropping again with very strong winds, feels like roof will be teared off. Yesterday I thought for sure I was perhaps having a sinus issue (typically don't really have much probs with that) or a head cold starting due to ears feeling full, but now its kind of there and kind of not. Crazy, eh?  Last week was my daugther's birthday and I wasnt able to get any gift for her until yesterday. It was brutal trying to walk in to stores, the lights just set off the dizziness, even with sunglasses felt weird. So basically, went in to one store, looked at what was on the front displays and grabbed whatever seemed decent and asked my husband to wait in checkout as I had to run out & sit in car, thought I was going to pass out. Not the type of birthday plans I hoped for. I hope your symptoms get better for you as day progresses, Hang in there.

Thanks Marie,I know how you feel, its Christmas coming up and If I have a good day I'm going to start shopping as I have two girls who I want to buy for,I took my eldest girly shopping for a few hours last Friday it was lovely I cried after as I was so happy I managed a few hours out,my youngest is hard work as she's only 3 but my mum helps everyday while my boyfriend works.does your other half understand your dizziness?

I can say that over the years it has gotten better, I was the same when I was going out I felt scared and always wanted my husband there just in case. I have had to push myself and just try and get on and not think about it. My husband has been great but I think after a while he just gets fed up hearing about it as it is just part of my week now. My ears feel blocked today and my dizzines has been worse because of it, need to find something for that

I'm sooo happy to read that you got a chance to get out with your girls, they must have been sooo excited smile  Oh yeah, I remember, 3 year olds are definitely full of energy.  I feel for you. Just wait til they get in their teens...lol.

Good idea about the shopping ahead of time. I love Christmas and have to pace myself to not get too stressed out.  I get you. I have cried many times too.  When I miss certain milestones with my children, I get really bummed out so when I have a good hour, I can't help but get emotional. Oddly enough, my children get it, but my husband doesn't. My son encourages me to go out for a walk with him and is really happy with any achievement, never complains if we have to turn back. We share the experience. But my husband is different. If he can't feel it, he doesn't understand. I can see/feel his frustration which doesn't help matters. I used to get upset about it but I now I let it go. I need to focus my energy on getting myself better, stronger so I can be there for my children.

      Take care Lisa smile

Let me know if you find something that works for the blocked ears. I thought I was going to do better today, no luck, ears blocked. But I managed in a walk today. Short but good.

      Take care.

My ear is more blocked. Went out with my dog. Couldn't walk that far, before I was all over the place and felt like I was walking through cement !
    • Posted

Thanks, it is hard to find someone who gets it other than ppl in this forum.

Walking thru cement. I know that feeling...lol.

Today though, it's so windy, even with the dog in hand, our feet barely hit the ground, not much effort there.

If you find a solution to these blocked ears, let us know eek

      Take care biggrin

Windy days are worse, plays havoc with my balance. As does sunlight flickering through trees.

Oh yeah, me too. I cringed just reading ur post. I know that feeling all too well. Seems westerly winds are worse for me and temperatures shifting from high to low, vice versa.
