HEADACHE; ALL DAY, EVERYDAY, Help Appreciated

Hello all, i have come to this site in search of an answer to a seemingly impossible question. After seeing multiple doctors, a ENT, a nuerologist and now doing the rounds of physio and chiropracture i still have no clue on what i seem to be suffering with. Three months ago, after a day or two of feeling like i have had a cold, i woke up with intense pressure in the head. At first the thought of meningitis or a tumor/aneurysm came to mind due to the 24/7 intense pain. But after a MRI, CT and CTA scan it was ruled out. The nuerologist just did a reflex test and looked at the MRI which was already confirmed normal and told me to just see how it goes. The goes with the doctors, because all my tests have come back normal they classify me as a worry wart or i have anxiety but i am just a realist. I have constant pain in my head and face, tightness in the neck, ears need to pop all the time and body aches especially with the legs and lower back pain although i am not sure if my lower pack pain is a seperate issue or not as a i am a nurse and my job applies alot of pressure to that region. I am not letting the doctors fob me off to walk away with a "mystery illness" as i have told them im just gonna keep coming back till they find out whats wrong. Ive also had a chest x ray, blood work done, a urea breathing test, an ultrasound of my heart and lungs, a test for STDs and all have come back normal. I just have no idea where to go from here? if anybody has a clue on where to go, i would appreciate more than ever some input. Thank you smile

Hello, Australia here smile, have battled this for only 3months but has felt like a lifetime. I was diagnosed with sinusitis after my first scan which i now suspect was just a diagnosis given to me to shut me up. After 3 rounds of antibiotics i was given an MRI and CTangio scan all came back clear. Some drs have said chronic migraines whilst others have said anxiety. Many more blood tests followed + urine and stool samples all clear. My headache has its on an off days but it never leaves. Its at the back front and top of my head. I get facial tightness/pressure and eyes ache. Ive seen a nuero, ENT, and several doctors, no answers. Its heartening to know others walk this path with me. Can i ask how your headache behaves? Does it feel like pressure? Do you get body aches? Im thinkin this could fibro related but im just not too sure.

    Hi Matthew.

I had 2 sinus infection running up to the day my headache started - I speak with a lot of people on FB that are going through the same thing, and a lot of them had some sort of flu or infection before they got their headache. You may have already heard of it, but I have been diagnosed with New daily persistent headache (NDPH)/chronic migraine.

My headache also feels like pressure all around my head, I too get eye ache. Since the headache started I have had constant Tinnitus. I get facial tingling/numbness - the best way I can describe the feeling is as if I have dried PVA glue over my face, or a face mask. My scalp is really sensitive and can burn.

Yes, I also get body aches, my neck, shoulders, top of my back and top of my arms also ache like hell all the time.

It really is very awful, and as you have probably found out, changes your lifestyle and personality so much.

I haven't had a minute without the pain since it started in March 2015. I really do hope it doesn't last this long for you.

So sorry to hear that my friend really do ope a miracle comes out of the blue and saves you. To know that there are other poeple out there who go through this is comforting although horrible to hear, poeple just dont realise how life altering a "headache" can be, especially when its with you in the morning. I notice that the pressure is variational, meaning it changes location to a singular spot and sometimes its just all over, its easier in the morning but fires up in the night. Im not letting this get me down, and i find a relief i will share share along. Im on a migraine type med so im hoping this will take away some of the brunt. rolleyes but i hope you dont have to cope with this alot longer. 3 years is long enough!

    Hi Matthew

Please also look into intracranial hypertension or hypotension if you haven't already. I had a lumbar puncture done to check, but pressure was normal.

How is this effecting your life, are you still pushing on and going to work? I still work full time, and its a huge struggle!

Also, have you noticed if alcohol makes your head worse?

Ive had 3 brains scans ruling out intercranial hyper they said no signs of it so im hoping that there isnt, havent had lumber puncture but i do notice i always have a high blood pressure and when i bend over the pressure intensifies in my face, behaving like sinus. Its an odd bag tbh id rather a broken arm, atleast id know what it is! haha, yea i still work but i take it alot slower now than i did. I am a heavy smoker, so the thought has crossed my mind that its hypertension causing all of this. Eeuugh some days are very trying indeed.

That goods, I know what you mean! id rather they actually find something on the brain scans as then at least they would have something to treat!

I too smoke, about 10 a day, I have given up but it didn't make any difference to the pain.

I am not recommending you do so yourself, but the only thing I find takes my mind off the pain is smoking abit of cannabis every now and then. I could do with the giggles too!

    Have you tried food elimination?

saw a dentist today who has referred me onto a specialist to have All my wisdom teeth extracted, this is probabaly the culprit of my jaw pain and may contribute to my headaches (intensifies them), hoping this is a solid lead...fingers crossed.

Literally the same thing happened to me ahah.. went to the dentist they said the same thing cause I had 3 wisdoms still in. Extracting them helped a little but that wasn’t my problem unfortunately, good luck though..

haha it seems we have parallel fates tbh i dont think its the root but im hoping it will more so ease it as they r playing off one another. Im continuing down the road with my doctor to explore other reasons, a flare up day it was - do you have a preferred temporary relief codein/aspirin doesnt seem to do much

Yeah so I use multiple remedies for my head pressure. I use magnesium oil spray on my feet every single day and rub it in. That is supposed to prevent your headaches from coming such as migraines. Also I use a couple different kinds of essential oils in a diffuser next to me every night while I sleep. Those are more healthier options. You can also use tigers balm as well on your skin or temples. You can buy that stuff anywhere it’s supposed to relieve pain and is not bad for you, similar to Vick’s vapor rub. You can try those 3 things. Don’t take Tylenol and such all the time isn’t good.. you’ll get used to it the medication and if you stop that can also cause headaches.

Funnily enough, ibuprofen i have estimated is probably the only thing that comes close to providing somewhat of a relief
