healing time after botox for anal fissure

Hi everyone!
So I went in for the botox treatment for my anal fissure around 3 weeks ago, after trying every cream for the past year or so to no avail.
Since the treatment my pain is still there and I was wondering if anyone else has had the same treatment and was successful and how long it took for the fissure to heal?
Any advice truly appreciated!!

Hello
Yes that feeling is worrying, especially when you go somewhere.
its designed to relax the area to facilitate healing.
The worse period was the first 3 months. It seemed to slowly diminish after that.
All the best.xx

Hello,
I have been with this pain for 6 months now, I never though this could be so painful and limiting.
I am not sure about botox , I am afraid of the general anesthesia or any allergic reaction that the botox injection can produce in my body. However , this pain is killing me mentally and physically. I work in a really fast paced enviroment and some days I hardly can have time to go to the the bathroom, or go for walk, it is insane this plus the pain make my days miserables. I have changed my diet I eating salads everyday I have quit dairy, I dont drink and nothing has changed....sometimes I think maybe is not a fisure but a thrombosed hemorroides...but who knows the pain start after bm in the morning and it doesnt go away until I take a nap or go to sleep. I have tried dilitizem and anusol nothing works really, so not sure why go with botox I dont want to feel worst!.

The botox did seem to help me but only after a month or so of pain, from the injection- give it time. The fissure I had has taken a couple of years to heal and I tried mostly everything. It is an awful thing to go thru but remain steadfast and be patient- the body does want to heal. It will heal. Wishing you all the best.

I had the same things done. I have really struggled both mentally and physically.
I'm eight weeks in and still not back at work. Bm still really painful. Had my check up last week and surgeon believes I am healing but I am not so sure.
It might be different for you though. Feel free to ask me any questions. Sending love x

I have a silly question to ask . as you are aware I did have my botox 5 days ago .
today however I was experiencing a hard bowel movement . I had to push slightly and it did come out .
my question is this . when you poop surely you have to do some pushing ? if we expect to sit on the toilet and poo just drops out then that means there us an issue with anal muscles ?
I guess I'm.asking does everyone push a little. dont get me wrong I know what straining is as this is what caused my initial fissure . so I did not strain today but did push slightly ..wanted to know if the pushing is normal
sorry for the word question

hello
no you have to push a bit. its straining with a hard movement to be avoided. dont try and get too much out if that makes sense!
keep up with the fibre and fruit. its all you can do.

I think we always have to push but when it gets to straining and such then the problems arise. I think I am someone who has xtra tight muscles down there and so I have to be very careful. If I find that it seems like it will be one of those days that would require more than a push, I find a fleet enema helps ease the pressure. I also have an underactive thyroid and constipation can be a side effect... more to be concerned about for me. wish you all the best. I understand.

I just pray every day that I poop soft ! sad isnt it
5 days into the botox now and really trying to keep things soft . I do somethings think I feel something in the anus as in the burn but then dont know its its physiological. as in I am so use the the pain that the brain sends messages saying I should be feeling something.
